Ah ok that's a good thing to know. Gonna call up my ISP on Monday and tell them to get fucked, found a 20 megabit plan with 200GB of downloads (rather than my current 30GB) and is $10 cheaper a month ($80 down from $90) with a different ISP. I don't care if with this other ISP I will have to talk to an Indian if I need tech support, it's not like my current ISP would have much better customer service anyways.
That is, with the limitation the network has set. If router can handle 450mbit wireless, and your laptop can too then that's the limit. If you're running cable & both parts are gigabit, then it's gigabit. But if it can only handle 100mbit then that's what limits you. Lowest denominator.
Would someone be able to explain to me why my computer crashes every time I put it into sleep? It's getting quite annoying that I have to shut it down all the time instead. Specs: Windows 8 i5-3570K Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe/WD MSI GTX570 The build is brand new, and otherwise has no hiccups, so I don't get why this is happening.
What do you mean by crashes? BSOD? Are all of your drivers up to date? Windows updates installed?
What do you mean by crashes? BSOD? Are all of your drivers up to date? Windows updates installed?
I don't think it's BSODing, but I honestly can't be sure. I put it to sleep, it goes and sleeps, and then I go to sleep, or out of the house or something. I come back to use it, and the computer is on, and when I log in it tells me it encountered an unexpected problem or something. My drivers should all be up to date, and Windows definitely is (8 is obnoxious that way, if it wasn't it'd let me know). I'm wondering if it's a BIOS thing not handling sleep mode right.
purchase a 64bit key
Unnecessary - 32 bit keys work in 64 bit Windows
Unnecessary - 32 bit keys work in 64 bit Windows
Ah, okay then. I haven't activated Windows in a long time
You will need to do a full reinstall of the os, there isn't any other way. So backup your important files.
Use Windows Easy Transfer to back that shit up. Seriously, it's much simpler and actually saves your bookmarks and passwords and shit with your browser. If you want the not-easy way, just use the USMT.
Has anyone tried one of those 21:9 monitors? Like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005492 They seem really cool and want some opinions. And the price doesn't matter because I get a hefty discount through my work.
How much could I sell my functional 6 year old Core 2 Duo E6850 for? Its had a hard life since I mostly kept it overclocked at 3.6GHZ. With that said I'm finally going to upgrade to a 4670k next week. I damn well expect it to barf and shit rainbows everywhere over what I currently have.
Ready for a super dumb question? Looking at my sister's Windows account and opening Chrome, I noticed her Chrome has a super-cool New Tab page: Mine, however, is still the old one: Both Chromes are version 28.0.1500.44 beta-m. I reinstalled Chrome and updated both copies. What's going on here, and how can I get the new one, if possible? Is it a new design that's being gradually rolled out? [editline]14th June 2013[/editline] ignore the really odd website thumbnails, I always forget to clear out old ones

Anyone know what's a good PCI-E ethernet card? I need one to hook up my Wii U to desktop so it can actually get online :v:
How would one install a secondary hardrive just for games/files etc without windows files?
You get a hard drive, put it in the bay or whatever mounting solution you have, plug in an SATA cable and a power cable to it, and then turn your computer on. Then you format it.
I can't get my router to work. It's a Belkin N300. I can get the access point to show up but when I type in the password it says "can not connect". I've tried factory restoring it but that won't work. I can't get to the settings page because I can't get wired connections to work either. Any help?
I'm going to buy a desktop computer, and here's what I've come up with so far: Intel i5-4760K 2x4 GB Kingston HyperX Asus Maximus Hero Evga GeForce GTX 770 SC Corsair HX750W Dell UltraSharp U2412M Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Corsair Obsidian 550D Anything I should change? Also, I need a recommendation for a good, inexpensive keyboard
not sure you need 750w [editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
Has anyone tried one of those 21:9 monitors? So, is it possible to send data, like mouse input, or audio output between two computers? If it was over the same network it would be nice
What is the best CPU/MoBo/RAM combo right now for around $300-$350?
Whats funny to me. 21:9 = 7:3. Why the large numbers.
16:9 is the accepted widescreen ratio, so many other ratios use part of it to show how they're different. 16:10 (8:5) shows that it's taller than 16:9, while 21:9 (7:3) shows that it's wider. I wouldn't be surprised if some 4:3 monitors have be relabeled "12:9" or "16:12" to meet the trend.

My monitor is 5:4. Kill me.
My monitor is 5:4. Kill me.
Oh, now that I think about it, so is mine. I always just assumed it was 4:3. 1280x1024 4lyfe EDIT: here is a discussion about the origins of the mysterious 5:4 SXGA

I guess this is hardware related, I mean, it's not music related. Since I will be mostly using these for gaming. I want to blow some money on high end headphones, and was wondering if anyone could share some insight. I'm looking at Denon AHD5000's, Senn HD800's or the cheapest option, AKG Q701's. I'm going to be mostly playing video games that require good positional audio such as Arma and the like. Anyone have any experience with any of these cans?
