Is there much of a difference between the Samsung 840 and 840 Pro series of SSDs? The Pro is about £25 more than the 840 and I'm unsure of what that'd mean for me.
Thanks for all the info, but what exactly is wrong with acceleration? It seems to smooth out the mouse movements and make it less jittery.
Makes you less accurate. With it off moving your mouse 1 inch will always move your mouse the same amount of pixels. With it on, it depends how quickly you move.
I have an old d-link dir-655 at home and sometimes it needs to be rebooted because after a while upload speeds go down (from 10MB/s to like 60kB/s). Anyway I was wondering how I would go on about making a program that reboots the router? It uses a basic website to handle remote management and there's no telnet or anything. I know how to program but I never do web stuff but I have a basic understanding of how it works. Anyone have any tips?
Did some googling,
1. download cURL, assuming you're doing this on windows: http://curl.haxx.se/dlwiz/
2. extract it to C:/
3. run Task Scheduler (search for it in the Start menu)
Click create basic task, name it whatever, have it run daily, press next, set the time you'd like it to run (likely 3-4AM), press next, have it start a program, next, set the program to C:/cURL.exe add:
-u admin:pwd ( <-- change this) -m 10 "http://192.168.1.1/reboot.cgi?reset=false"
in the arguments section, next, and you're done!
(keep reset=false, that's to revert your settings to default)

Also Qaus, make sure you don't have hair in your sensor and your mousepad isn't causing the jumping.

840 Pro just has faster write speeds, so if you're on a budget, go for the 840.

Thanks for trying to help. but unfortunately it doesn't work. It seems that the -u flag only works when the webpage shows like a little popup in the browser (hard to explain), the router i'm using just has a standard webpage with a password field..
The HDD in my mothers laptop is failing so I'll be buying a new one soon, however this means I will lose my copy of Windows 7. The laptop did not come with an installation disk but I do have a product key.
o
Is there a way I can obtain a copy of Windows without having to fork out £60 just because it wasn't supplied with an installation disk?
[editline]20th July 2013[/editline]
Legally of course.

In that case you can just legally torrent the Windows installation disc from Piratebay or something, and use the product key.
Alternatively (and perhaps more legal), pick up a Digital River download link from here

This, you should be able to use the product code with it, if it says it's already in use then just follow the instructions that Windows provides.
Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you!
You don't even have to torrent it. You can use any copy of Windows you find, even the free evaluation copies issued by Microsoft. If you get a trial copy ISO that is at least one edition below the one that your key is designed for, then you can just run a Windows Anytime Upgrade.

I could probably write you a program to do it with Selenium and python. I'd need to get a few screenshots / some HTML from the pages though.

I Got RAM! I'm parting out the entire thing, if you want a screen and all too

How many GB, what's the model number? Got a hard drive (if so, what size)?
Good full or mid tower case with decent cable management for $75 - 90ish?

Fractal Design R4. Bit above your price range, but great looking and very quiet.
What's the cheapest surveillance camera that would survive -30 celsius? IP cam would be preferred, though I could probably make a composite camera work with my old easycap. I'm aiming for under $60.
I want to have something pointed at the porch and driveway. It will be hooked up to my server or a raspberry pi.
I don't get why you can't get cameras with proper image quality (no matter what res) for any cheap price, and even high end cams usually only have low res.
is my sensor fucking broken or is my cpu possessed by ice wraiths because idle i'm reaching this temp

I'd legit murder for temps anywhere near to that, and no this isn't an invitation to share your temps I'm just saying.
Will I get better performance if I disconnect my secondary monitor, which only shows my desktop, while gaming?

Because storage.

I'm doing the same thing, I suggest you do this:
Get this housing:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=110&cp_id=11004&cs_id=1100401&p_id=6687&seq=1&format=2
this bracket:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=110&cp_id=11004&cs_id=1100402&p_id=6697&seq=1&format=2
long USB extension:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030312&p_id=6149&seq=1&format=2
and throw any USB (h.264 preferrably) webcam in it. HD Security camera done. From the PI you can have it stream to the local network, or record when it detects movement, whatever. Alternatively you could just grab any standard CCTV camera and use your easycap, you can convert BNC to composite.
They have heated enclosures, too, if you're worried about the cold, but it'll need power.

talk to me on Steam if you want to know more about my setup or whatever
Will I get better performance if I disconnect my secondary monitor, which only shows my desktop, while gaming?
It's possible, but it will likely be negligible.
Will I get better performance if I disconnect my secondary monitor, which only shows my desktop, while gaming?
Not in any measurable way, unless your secondary monitor is a 12800x7200 ultra-ultra-high-res or something. Driving a desktop, especially a static one, is ludicously lightweight compared to 3D rendering.

It's silly, cameras are all on super old analog garbage. Some of them can look really nice for being SD but you can get 1080p webcams for $50 now and a raspberry pi, and you've basically got an HD security camera.

But cheap cameras have really bad images. Expensive SD cameras still have sweet images, but cheap ones, including HD; usually look like piss.

you aren't going to frame a picture taken from a security camera, resolution is important so you can see details, it doesn't really matter if it's a little grainy or the colors suck

I would do some load tests and try different monitoring software because a broken core temp sensor could be serious.
Do anyone here have a Nexus 7..
I starting to get problem with my touch screen.. Like i want to scroll down while i use chrome, doing zooming instead. And am stuck with that untill i reset note (sometime i just have to turn it off/on, bit still annoying).
Do any of you know how to fix it? Got it couple a days ago, and have not installed any apps what I know of.
Is Avast antivirus decent enough? I was using Avira but my license ran out and they've jacked the prices up so I'm not renewing. I've heard MSE doesn't have that great detection rates but I must admit Avast is irritating with it's pop ups asking me to try their premium service (it's only done it once since I installed it, but it's only been installed for an hour).
How much would a second monitor affect my FPS in a game E.G. Skyrim
And the second monitor is doing nothing but showing me a background?

It would most likely be negligible. I run mine off my onboard gpu anyways, so there's no chance it will affect performance.
