It would most likely be negligible. I run mine off my onboard gpu anyways, so there's no chance it will affect performance.
I'm running both monitors off my GPU, would it be better to put my second one on to the onboard gpu?

I have a question related to my keyboard.. I use a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (Not 2013) which has worked fine since I got it as a gift up until yesterday. The keyboard works fine once I get to be in Windows, but I can't use it to type my Windows password. Anybody have any idea what the cause might be..?
I just noticed my laptop has a finish on it on the inside around the keyboard/touchpad, and a small hole appears to have worn itself into existence just under where my left palm would sit. Under the finish layer, which I'm guessing is some kind of plastic coating, is shitty looking black plastic that seems to scratch pretty easily. Anybody have any ideas as to what I can do to prevent the hole from growing, ripping apart that area and making my laptop look like shit?
How long have you had the laptop for?
2ish years
2ish years
Using it a lot does that, which model is it? You could find replacement palmrests, in the meantime buy a protector for it to stop it getting worse.
Using it a lot does that, which model is it? You could find replacement palmrests, in the meantime buy a protector for it to stop it getting worse.
It's this. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5096667&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en By replacement palmrest I'm guessing you mean a new panel to replace the one that's getting beat up. What about a protector, though? By that do you mean something similar to one of those stick-on smartphone protectors?

It should minimize it from getting worse, you could use the other protector for the new one to make it look new.
you could use the other protector for the new one to make it look new.
You've lost me.

There was an update which fixed it, are your drivers for it up to date?

I completely reinstalled both the drivers and the synapse software.
Anybody know anything about HDMI switches? I've got a wall-mounted flatscreen with two huge wirepipes running down to my desk, and I'm thinking I could consolidate them into a single HDMI and power pipe if I found a decent switch.
I'm building a small electromagnetic pulse device for shits and giggles (babby's first tesla coil basically), and the problem I've been having is that it's area of effect is too large, and the effect is a little weaker than I'd like. Would adding more winds to the inductor (it's right before the antenna) decrease it's range while increasing the amplitude of the pulses it's emitting? (by the way I don't intend to do anything naughty with this device, it's purely for demonstration/proof of concept)

Future Supervillain of the Year, everybody.
Does anyone have an extra MS Office product key I can have? My old one isn't working for some reason. [editline]26th July 2013[/editline] Actually, LibreOffice or OpenOffice?
LibreOffice
LibreOffice, because OpenOffice turned to shit.
I used to use Libre... Now I use Office 365. (University requires it.)
Does anyone here know the surefire symptoms of a dying video card? I've noticed some small checkerboard black squares in certain parts of my screen when playing Just Cause 2 (not very noticeable ones, mind you) and while playing BF3 (although they weren't black, they were kind of distorted ones). However, just today Tropico 4 started just going all over the place with its textures, like sprites were out of line or completely wrong, textures on most of the buildings were haywire... I've tried restarting the game, computer, etc, and right now I'm reinstalling Tropico to see if it helps but... I just have a feeling my video card isn't long for this world.

How old is the GPU?
Those sound like issues typical of a dying GPU. Have you tried reseating it? What are the temps it has been running at? How old is the GPU?
It usually idles around 47 celsius, it goes around 60ish when active and the GPU is about... 2 years and 5-6 months old so it's still pretty young. By "reseating," do you mean putting it into another slot? If so my motherboard doesn't have enough of them for me to move it (it only has two, and the video card already uses them). If it means just putting it back in, then no, I haven't tried that yet but I'm hesitant to do it since I'd probably end up frying it just putting it back together again. Also, so far only Tropico is really really messed up. I've been having the ones in Battlefield for some time (but I haven't played it recently so I don't know about now) and the Just Cause ones are really unnoticeable to the point that I don't really see them often.

Just touch something metal before you touch the insides and you will be fine. I can't count the amount of times I have worked on a computer on carpet in the winter. Never shocked anything.

If you have not updated your drivers recently, try updating them. If they cause more problems then they solve, just uninstall them and install the older ones.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask (I suppose it does, because my question is software-related), but in Flash, is there a way to repeat a scene over and over once you get to it and not the whole flash as an entirety? I'm new to actionscript so the only things I know how to do are create buttons. A visual since I'm bad at explaining things:

1. What's a good laptop on Newegg (smaller preferable, don't really care about weight, just would prefera smaller screen) that's around $500. 2. Is there any place to purchase just ctrl/shift/etc keys? My control broke, which I don't care about, but I plan on giving the keyboard away when I get a new one.
1. And also after reinstalling Tropico the game's still messed up so it's obvious that my video card is to blame... I'll try reseating it later this weekend, but I guess I should probably start looking into getting another one just in case.
I've been getting a NSIS error for a couple days now. Is there any way I can figure out what's causing it?
