Looking for a monitor upgrade and I'm deciding between these two. ASUS and BenQ They are basically the same price with the shipping cost of ASUS added and since I have Amazon Prime the shipping is free on BenQ. Other than that they seem pretty similar with each other, unless someone has any experience with these monitor?
My computer is having issues, and I have never encountered this. Specs: windows 8 64bit 4770k Corsair h110 4x4gb gskill ddr3 2400 Evga gtx 780 acx Samsung 256gb 840 pro Asrock z87m extreme4 Corsair ax760 psu My computer will randomly shut off, most of the time it will start right back up. But sometimes it turns on and off repeatedly. I will be stress testing my cpu and gpu sometimes and it's fine, then I an browsing the web and it restarts. It's completely random. Any ideas? I spent way too much for this to happen.
So I fixed it. I had too many fans plugged into my motherboard. Fans don't draw that much power... You're pushing the limits of your PSU.
You had too much power draw from the fans? Fans don't draw that much power... You're pushing the limits of your PSU.
I had 5 items plugged into the headers. I am not even close to the limits of my ax760.
Anything I should watch out for when buying a USB hub? I'm looking at this one in particular. http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX44923 Maybe I should splurge and get a USB 3.0 one for faster bandwidth? Or would plugging in a USB 2.0 device into the hub change the bandwidth rate for the whole hub?

Both the host (the computer and any hubs in between) as well as the device and even the cable need to support USB 3.0 in order to get the speed benefit. And the speed benefit is mainly for external hard drives, maybe thumb drives. Plugging a USB 2.0 device in shouldn't slow down the whole hub. That hub seems fine, although that's a lot of ports. Although the external power would be good if you have a lot of power-hungry devices.
Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but how much computing power is required to properly emulate gamecube and ps2 era games, by which I mean, could it be done on a standard contemporary laptop?
Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but how much computing power is required to properly emulate gamecube and ps2 era games, by which I mean, could it be done on a standard contemporary laptop?
I can't speak for "standard contemporary laptops", but I can tell you the results on mine: With a relatively high-end CPU and GPU (i7 3610QM and GeForce 660M), I can run Wii games (Dolphin emulates both the Wii and the Gamecube, as they're very similar) at triple resolution (1920x1584, scaled to either 1920x1080 or 2560x1440), no AA but with 2x anisotropic filtering. I would say that an average laptop *should* be able to run GC/Wii games at roughly native level with a standard contemporary laptop (not a weak Ultrabook, something with a discrete GPU and decent CPU). I have not tried doing PS2 emulation on this laptop, but the last time I did try, I was unable to (Core 2 Duo and GeForce 9600M, the audio was the thing that killed it). This is partially because the PS2 is a much harder architecture to emulate. Still, that laptop was old and weak enough that you can probably emulate it on modern laptops, provided you get a good enough CPU. But I can't speak from personal experience there, only estimates. I'm probably being overly-cautious here - you might well be fine with an i3 and integrated graphics. But I can't say for sure, because I haven't done it.
If I bought a bluetooth card/dongle for my computer, could I use a PS3 controller wireless?
You can use motioninjoy or SCP DS3 monitor, the latter is easier to use and less shit.
So I've been having some pc trouble lately, just upgraded my ram to 8 gigs, WIndows 7 64-bit, Intel Core i5 CPU 650 3.20GHz. Decided to make a video of what happens.

Sorry to ask another question again so soon but does anybody here have experience buying refurbished laptops from walmart? Can I trust them, or are they crap?

Do any of you guys have an easy way to rip audio off of youtube videos and download them? I'm not doing it for piracy purposes. There are just a lot of songs on youtube that I can't seem to find anywhere else.

Like one time I needed audio of Russians talking for a video on Sputnik. http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
This used to happen to me when I had an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ with 4GB DDR2 and a 9800GT, I didn't know as much as I do now so I never really found the culprit. I remember boiling it down to Bad RAM, Mobo or CPU. Make a bootable USB (or CD) of memtest86+ and run that overnight, if it comes up with any errors, do one stick at a time until the errors come back and replace the bad stick(s). Since you just installed new RAM, that sounds like a likely problem. When I had the issue WoW (CPU intensive) would crash my PC, but COD4 would not. I ended up replacing the board and CPU with a Phenom Ii X4 955BE and an ASUS M4A77D and the problems stopped, I think it was the CPU to be honest.
I'm not sure if this is the best place for this, but does anybody know how to remove these ugly playlist tabs on my Foobar2000? I added a playlist thing and they showed up. One more every single time I created a playlist. And it's a fucking eyesore, though I know people who have similar layouts and don't have them there.
My 6970 is pretty much dead now, out of these 4 cards what would you recommend? http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1311&zenid=f565bedb5382abe70497a40965ed6edd I'm looking for cool quiet and reliable not hot loud and overclocked.
Whenever I boot my computer it goes to my motherboard setup and asks me which harddrive to boot off of, sometimes my second harddrive isn't there. Anyone know what the issue is? [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] And In my boot priority my second harddrive doesn't show up but it's recognized under sata defices

There's a reason why they use BenQ in pretty much every big tournament
Quick question: I'm looking to get a new phone and the Sony Xperia V has caught my eye. I was just thinking that can I play Minecraft: PE with it? I'm a big Minecraft fan and it would be great to play on the go.
I'm considering getting an SSD for windows + a few games, my question is: Can I just move windows to the SSD without having to do a clean install? (And if you do this, is there any drawbacks?) I'd really rather not have to reinstall windows again.
I bought this laptop; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230960 yesterday at lunch on a whim because it was on sale ($300), and now that I read the reviews it seems like it could really benefit from more ram and an ssd. Can I get some suggestions on what to put in? I don't know enough about hardware to know what can and can't be put in it, but I'm looking for maybe 16g ram and an SSD large enough to hold the OS and a game or two. My budget is ~$300 [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] And btw I don't really play many games, just KSP and some old rts', I know it's not a great gaming laptop

I doubt the laptop could properly use the speed of the Vertex 4. [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] Well I guess you could try doing a slight bit of research. See if your laptop has sata3 or sata2. If it has sata3, go with the Vertex. If it's sata2, go with the cheaper options.
Is there a way to close a window with CMD? I don't mean minimizing it or closing the program, I just want to close the actual window.
Anyone know a good dual monitor mount?
Anyone know a good dual monitor mount?
They're so much more expensive than the singles that you should just get two nice wall mounts
but then you have to screw shit into your wall instead of just clamping it down to a table
