I'm trying to install the DVD burner on my case, but I have no idea on how to take the plastic rectangles from the front panel. The manual doesn't help either. That's the back of the front panel. I tried to take them out by pulling and pushing the metal things at each side of the rectangles, but nothing happened. Maybe I'm not pulling/pushing enough, but I'm scared to break it. Its a K350 Cooler Master
you pinch the two pieces of plastic on the sides together and push it (maybe pull), shouldn't be too hard
I know this is going to sound weird, but push REALLY HARD on the front of those panels. The panels themselves are molded into the front panel. You've got to break the points that hold them in. You won't break the panels, though.
this is completely false, at least half the advice you post is wrong
you pinch the two pieces of plastic on the sides together and push it (maybe pull), shouldn't be too hard this is completely false, at least half the advice you post is wrong
And you're incredibly rude. I was offering advice that worked for me, because my case had the same sort of deal, but the panels were actually molded to the front panel mesh, connected in four points. Pressing them from the front popped them out, and the tabs acted as clips to reattach them. So screw you. At least I'm trying to offer timely advice from personal experience, which is more than you're doing most of the time.
I tried pushing the rectangles really hard, as the manual says, but it bent a little. Luckily it was the rectangle that bent, not the case, so it doesnt really matter. But still, I have no idea what to do.
You should be able to push the tabs outwards and be able to push in the drive bay covers.
And you're incredibly rude.
He was non, uh, partisan or whatever.
It broke off....

It should be only aesthetic, right? I should still be able to put a disc reader, right? Right? =(
It broke off.... It should be only aesthetic, right? I should still be able to put a disc reader, right? Right? =(
I reckon so, seeing the disc reader you'd install will be screwed in place in the case.
It broke off.... It should be only aesthetic, right? I should still be able to put a disc reader, right? Right? =(
looks like I was wrong, the plastic is attached to the front panel and they need to be pushed apart rather than pinched together, in any case the bay will be used by a drive so it's all good I tried looking up reviews of the case to see for sure when I offered you the advice, but couldn't find any, sorry [editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
And you're incredibly rude. My hard drive has been dropping out recently and I am fairly certain it is just about dead. To isolate the issue to the hard drive itself I've tried several things including ensuring cables were properly connected, different sata ports, different sata cables and different computers. Fortunately the drive has nothing on it that I can't redownload so recovery isn't too critical. Before I give up on it completely however I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
Is there anything in the S.M.A.R.T data? Is the connection on the HDD itself fine? I'd say retire it to an external enclosure, where dropping out won't be as big an issue.
What's the best cooler to go for if I want a quiet system short of water cooling? I was thinking of getting one of Corsair's H series coolers, most likely the H60.
A closed-loop water cooler isn't really going to be quieter, though it could mean you're going to use less fans over all - which would be quieter. a 120mm fan on a rad or on a traditional heatsink will output the same noise. I'd say you're better off buying a 212 or whatever's hip these days and putting the rest of the money into buying high quality low noise fans for the rest of your system, maybe even getting an aftermarket GPU cooler if yours is loud.

Also I forgot to mention when I tried the hard drive on a different computer I used a sata to USB adapter. Edit: I've also noticed that it only seems to drop out when it is being used. For example, I first noticed it when I was updating a game on Steam and it occurred again later on when I was loading a map in counter strike.
So the disc reader fits, so no problem with the broken tab ^^ But the case has this things, and I have no idea what they are for.

They fit at the side of the disc driver slot, but I have no idea of their purpose. Anyone knows?

Line up the screw holes of the drive with the cases holes, then pop that in there and turn it to the locked position.

Or I'm supposed to use both?

So I plugged in an old GTX 260 while I wait for RMA on my 670 but I thought maybe I could use my 9600GS as a physx card, however it seems that the PC uses 9600gs as main GPU. How do I change this?

So I'm about to finally install the motherboard into the case when...

It should fit, as both the motherboard and case are ATX. But it appears I need to take the top metal border to do so, but I have no idea how to do it. It has like screws, but with a hole instead of an X. Anyone knows how to take them out?
It broke off.... It should be only aesthetic, right? I should still be able to put a disc reader, right? Tried it again. It fits, but barely. Standoffs?
Tried it again. It fits, but barely. Standoffs?
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ef/Toennchen_IMGP5029_wp.jpg/800px-Toennchen_IMGP5029_wp.jpg[/t] They make your mobo not fry itself against the back of the case.
Oh yeah, I'm currently putting them in the case right now. Also, how many fans should my build have? Currently it as a frontal fan and a CPU heatsink. The case is Cooler Master, and from I've heard, they dont need too many fans.
I came across an old Viewsonic monitor (VA912b, specifically) and while it's nice to have a second monitor to use for stuff, it has no stand. The only online listing I've been able to find for a replacement stand was sold on eBay yesterday, and I don't have anything suitable lying around to use in its place. What can I do?
Using old cards for PhysX reduces performance FYI
Really? I've seen a lot of threads where people say "Use a spare graphics card solely for Physx so you don't have to put Physx on main graphis card"
Really? I've seen a lot of threads where people say "Use a spare graphics card solely for Physx so you don't have to put Physx on main graphis card"
they were wrong, there was benchmarks posted where it showed it just slowed the game down in most cases [editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
Oh yeah, I'm currently putting them in the case right now.
Really? I've seen a lot of threads where people say "Use a spare graphics card solely for Physx so you don't have to put Physx on main graphis card"
A powerful, recent card will run PhysX faster than a current CPU. However, a current CPU will run PhysX faster than an old or weak graphics card. Particularly since most games that use PhysX drop their physics usage when running on CPU (since that's not as efficient), but still throw full detail on if running on any graphics card, even an ancient one that can't hope to handle it.
Anyone have tips on how to screw standoffs? I have been trying to screw the last one for like an hour now...
