Removing the UpperFilters thing in the registry then rebooting fixed it.
Get a handheld vacuum cleaner and put it above the radiator, go under it with a can of compressed air and blow all the shit out of it and into the vacuum cleaner
Makes me wonder if it's actually harmful to a computer to clean it using a air compressor.
When I'm cleaning fans I always hold them with my finger to make sure they won't start moving and act like a alternator.
Also, is XFX a reliable GPU manufacturer? I'm upgrading as well my motherboard, CPU and GPU (GPU is going to be a Radeon HD 7950 for sure).
But I'm not sure which manufacturer to choose, as I have not much money to spend, I just get to the point that I can buy the specific product.
All manufacturers are fine, except sometimes powercolor. XFX is pretty great, MSI, EVGA... etc
I use the VEVO Windows 8 app with ModernMix to provide some nice music-videos on my second monitor screen while I browse the internet or do things. Full screen doesn't allow me to click outside of the window so that's not an option. How can I hide window borders from any Windows application? Is there any tool available to do it?
[editline]27th September 2013[/editline]
Just found an answer. (I googled first, I swear). Apparently if you 'shift-click' the full screen button on ModernMix apps then they do the fake full-screen mode (Alike the '-noborder' option on Valve games).

I'd say XFX is pretty reliable. I've still got my 9500GT I got from them back in 2008. It runs pretty well, powering my extra monitor. Only thing I've done is replace the thermal paste with Arctic Silver.
Actually, that begs the question... I get no performance decrease on that monitor when I play games on it, despite it being driven by a severely outdated graphics card(The model's almost ten years old. TEN YEARS.). Is it possible it could be rendering on my 560Ti, and sending it to the 9500GT? How does that work, exactly?

And, how about Club 3D? I heard some thirteen year old kid talking about that they aren't that good.
I know I shouldn't trust these kids but even then, I want to be safe with what I buy. I'm putting together an entire new build for a friend, and in the meanwhile I'm also doing some personal research.

They're both pretty equal but the DirectCU II is a pretty good cooler

Doesn't MSI use DirectCU II as well? That could be an option.

I learned that ASUS does use DirectCU II coolers on the higher end GPU's (GTX and Radeon HD 7000 series)

Yeah, I think MSI uses their own version (Twin Freezer or something like that).
Yeah, I think MSI uses their own version (Twin Freezer or something like that).
Oh, yeah Twin Frozr technology. Quite surprising that this cooling is so small but yet efficient.
The twin frozr is good, my OCd 6950 idles around 32 and goes 56-66 depending on the game
just bought a new tv (Samsung UE32F5000) and when i plug my ps3 in and try to set it at 1080p, the screen just goes black and doesnt display, any ideas?

Try replacing the HDMI cable, if you don't have one spare you maybe able to get away with a cheap one from Ebay. http://www.techradar.com/news/video/why-you-dont-need-to-spend-more-than-2-on-an-hdmi-cable-1071343

i have 2 and they both display black
1080i and 720p work, but not 1080p
Is there any program that can arrange images in a folder by resolution, because I would like to purge all the wallpapers I have that are below 1080p.

Not sure if you can in Win 7, but try right clicking the title bar thing in the folder, and choose "more" and find "dimensions" in the list.
What is a good, reasonably cheap, 3.5" card reader? It needs to have slots for MS, SD, CF, and Micro SD. I don't really want to spend more than $25 on it. Something where the pins won't bend horrifically is a good selling point too.
What happens when you exceed your motherboard's max memory limit? My motherboard spec says it only supports a maximum of 12GB, but I have 16GB in ( I didn't know about the limit before I stuffed it in ). The BIOS and Windows both detected it, but I've been running into a lot of CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED BSODs.
Refreshing Windows at the moment as that's the most popular answer to this BSOD.
[editline]28th September 2013[/editline]
okay bsod with only 8gb in, fuck this I'm done
[editline]28th September 2013[/editline]
bsod before windows install has even finalized, awesome
Sounds like a motherboard problem. Plus, 12GB limit sounds weird unless it has 3 slots or something stupid.
it has 3 slots, motherboard issue sounds most likely, ehhh.
What mobo model is it? BIOS update could help.
Im looking for a gaming mouse, I was planning to get the R.A.T m with a service plan where I work, but since we dont have a service plan Im back on the market for a different one.
There were a few too many complains of the m breaking for me to go for it without a protection.
Anyone have suggestions for other good quality mice at a similar or smaller size?

Can't really go wrong with anything Logitech. I couldn't really go with a R.A.T myself, they look as though the QA involves running them over :v:

MadCatz.... no bueno
Whats the difference between Intel's RST and RST Enterprise?
They are both under the Sata drivers for my Asus Rampage IV Extreme
MadCatz.... no bueno
You know, I think the R.A.T might be one of the few good things MadCatz has made... Of course, it's also one of their high-tier products. Most of their high-tier products are at least as good as industry equivalents... But everybody buys their bargain basement stuff, and then gets upset about the bargain basement quality. Their flight simulator equipment, however, is some of the best available. It's also not cheap, in any capacity.

You just have to pick your products, applies to most brands.
Any specific recommendations for a different one would be nice
What's the go-to program for transcoding video on Windows these days? Still the nightly builds of Handbrake?
I'd google it but "free video transcoder" is one of those searches that strikes me as being dangerous to install things from
I don't need to deal with any obscure formats I just need to turn a 1080p mp4 into a 720p one so my old laptop can play it without lagging to hell
