And anyway it's common knowledge that 99% of good performing laptops face heat problems. I'm sure he uses it for video editing or something intensive (Makol, verify?)
didn't see this...
I did the MacBook for video editing, but now I just use it for music, watching movies, and some photoshop. I also take it with me pretty much everywhere but school. and now the Mac for Steam is out I'm going to use it for some light gaming when at parents' house.

I kinda wish I got the next step up with the 2.4ghz CPU and the backlit keyboard... I got my Aluminum MacBook in late 2008 when they were first released.
My god, the clutter. Holy shit.
I don't even know what most of that shit is.
I'm guessing he does audio work/podcast.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you will be unable to play any source games no matter what on your macbook. Macbooks do not have a dedicated graphics card, therefore cannot run source games. If you don't believe me, go ahead and try for yourself.

my own video proving you wrong.
NOTE: this video was made to inform most Mac user that they need to shut up about Steam for Mac not working, so just skip to about 2 minutes in.

The 9400M in a macbook can run source games.
The 9400M in a macbook can run source games.
I was under the impression that macbooks had integrated graphics and that only macbook pros had dedicated cards.
I was under the impression that macbooks had integrated graphics and that only macbook pros had dedicated cards.
the 9400m is integrated and so in the new 320M. the 9400m is roughly 50% as powerful as a 8600m GT (not great but it gets the job done) and the newer 320M is 80% stronger than the 8600m GT so they're no that powerful but the can play games if you're willing to lower the settings.
[editline]06:50PM[/editline]
oh and the 13" MacBook Pros use the 320M and the new MacBooks do too, for the last few last generation both had the 9400m. the 15" and 17" did have the 9400m too as a switchable GPU but now since they use the i5 and i7 they use some Intel GPU as a switchable GPU. hell, the lower-end 15" use the 320M, it's not until you hits the $2,000 mark you get the dedicated GPU :crying:

he probably doesn't know what the 9400m is.
I'm sorry that you misinterpreted my post. I was under the impression that the macbook had superior cooling compared to a thinkpad.

Could you tell me teh specs so I can copy you :D?
jeffcoolguy2k may be misinformed regarding hardware and how x is not powerful enough to run y because it doesn't have z (everyone starts somewhere), but you guys are being extremely rude, none of you are superior to him. He's a new member, instead of insulting him, guide him, he seems like a decent poster and could contribute to the community.
the fist impression he made on was that he was a troll.

before I got my PC, I had to game on an early 2007 black macbook. I made a video online about it.

Took a while, but that was the first 'real' launching app we made.
[editline]10:29PM[/editline]
And the video is over a year old...

I have a Mac too, and 2 PCs, I am more superior than you by that logic.
question: is it safe to have my 360 set up vertically?
yes.

I thought you said you had five computers? What are the other 2? And are they old apple computers?

one is missing (might be under my bed or in my closet, but I'm too lazy too check now) and other is an Apple 180c from 1995 which I think my dad might have still, unless he sold it or gave it away.
[editline]09:26PM[/editline]
so right now I have 3 technically.
I got a better pic real quick.
