It can be left ungrounded, it's not exactly safe but it isn't going to break it.
Summer finally came, which meant ambient temperature jumped up and my radiator fans started blasting like hell, even when doing nothing.
Well, at least my loadline calibration and voltage settings have been basically perfected now.
Making my first moves into actually learning C++ by doing a QT application.
Never really did any C and C++ but know enough of other languages and read some C and C++ code over the last 6-7 years to not be a complete beginner.
Oh boy, In a way it's actually really making me look forward to getting back to some Rust development.
Especially when it once throw an error and a thousand lines of C++ template code as a "Help" for identifying the issue.

Also cmake is a pain in the ass to write a config for.
Good friends don't let friends buy ASUS hardware. My driver that controls the heatsink fans isn't working and I can't fix it right now because the fucking website to download an updated driver is currently down. My CPU is at 60*C and I have no idea when the website is going back up.
[editline]20th May 2017[/editline]
The only reason why I even got the motherboard I did was because it came with a 1080 at a discount and all the other 1080s were sold out.

It's a good thing I have a CD Drive to go with my ASUS hardware
At least you can actual download them, on my old Asus mobo you had to install ETHERNET drivers
Fuck you if you don't have another PC or a DVD drive
Cleaned my computer out, temperature is doing better but I still have no way to control the speed of the heatsink even if I try to set it in the BIOS, nevermind about the tempurature it just shot right back to 60 lmao

I have a CD too, but the software crashes on startup after installing it. I don't know why people opt out of a CD/DVD drive when building a computer because having one has saved my shit countless times.

I haven't needed one in like 4 years, and I have other computers anyways.
Bleh. That means it's pretty much out of the question, since hiring one is, again, money we don't have.
This house is probably gonna fuckin' burn down someday anyways, we all know it's incredibly shittily wired due to the incompetent jackass that renovated it years ago that duped my grandma; the previous owner of the house. There's hardly an outlet one in here that's actually grounded properly, or at all. The house is also incredibly old. Hell, I don't even think my room is grounded, I can't actually tell because believe it or not I cannot even find the God damn outlet it's plugged into since the cable to it all leads off into the dark void behind my dresser, so I just have to pray that my ludicrously overqualified for the job industrial sized powerstrip will save my shit in the event something awful happens.
In short I think I've just had the horrible realization that my home is a flaming disaster waiting to happen and there's nothing we can do about it because we're borderline poor and about to get poorer. :surrender:
If he wasn't a licensed electrician and your homeowners insurance finds out after your house burns down/someone dies getting 120v AC across the chest, they'll deny your claim
[t] that shit bro
Or better yet throw it out

Hey! The Surface didn't fail!
(Unless that's a Surface RT, in which case it absolutely did fail.)
Cmon, of course it's an RT

and reliably running software you actually want to run, not windows store shit.
Apple TV is pretty ok, imo

uuuh what do you develop
Went back to proprietary garbage BIOS on laptop because I was having weird issues, testing out if SeaBIOS was the problem :(
But at least I removed ME from Lenovo's BIOS.

Asus gone downhill? My motherboard of five years still holds up (And its a cheapo one), and the router works so well I will probably buy a newer model for university.
asus makes great consumer routers imo

apple tvs are great tho
i would've gotten the newest one if i didn't get a used ps4 for the same price ($150)
What does an Apple tv do that...just about anything else doesn't?
What does an Apple tv do that...just about anything else doesn't?
In my experience it's the smoothest experience of a device like it. Best device short of a proper HTPC. But Sam's is a gen 1 as he pointed out to me which is a much different device.

Asus has gotten complacent at the top, same with Corsair. Everything components wise besides their top offerings are mediocre for the MSRP
when i was at uni we had an apple tv in our club common room and i'd airplay my macbook pro's display for notes or presentations, airplay music, watch apple's keynotes, and try to make apps for it, along with the general watch netflix and plex on it
i've used both chromecast and amazon firestick and i wasn't big fans of them.
Also what are your opinions on getting my firstnamelastname.us as a domain for my professional facing email? For job seeking and employer communication stuff.

i think he meant surface book
No he means he lives in Brazil so the cost of surface devices are insane.

I really don't want to fuck around with my Arch install to get UEFI working. Would probably be a massive pain in the ass thanks to partitioning, since I have LVM+LUKS.
