Why make a good product when you can make a passable product that everyone is going to basically have to use anyway, and then milk them for all the money they can possibly generate for you

Microsoft is trying to out-Google Google by using their huge userbase and near monopoly status to make Windows an ad based money printer
Yeah, it makes sense, but as someone who has to deal with those "tradeoffs" on a daily basis I get kind of sick of it.

In the past, Google Apps, let you do that for free. But now it's under Gsuite basic for 5$ per month.
Welp, I guess I'll use Zoho.
Also on NameCheap, I like how the first year is like $10 (which is cheaper than some other extensions) but after a year it jumps up to $30 for some special domains..
My god sentinelRMS key manager just about gave me a fucking heart attack. It does network key management for 3 or 4 programs one of my engineering firm clients use. One of the newer programs doesn't really update keys, just add a new one (called feature) and remove the old. So I clicked "remove feature" and one by one every single key disappeared from the manager.
Then it refreshed, and all but the one I deleted was there. What kind of fucking interface is that??

Like it was such a "holy shit" moment I started spamming Ctrl+C out of reflex in the pointless hopes it may stop the process.

... was this at least over a highish latency connection to a text interface? I want to look for other reasons to hope it's not actually that bad.

Anyways, bought domain, will make some sort of website out of it and see how it goes. I might try using something like https://webflow.com to make my website.

Everything two indents below "Subnet Servers" disappeared one at a time.
I accepted the job offer. Start next week.
Elgato Gaming. Based in SanFran, but I'm fully remote. I'd be social media support. But plenty of other folks have moved up in the company to other departments.
To put it into some obscure terms (it's complicated). Right now I'll be doing a 6 week trial as a contract at 25% higher hourly pay than my editing job (which is a part time contract job, like a week per month). When I join as an employee in a month or so, I'll have a multi-thousand signing bonus, my yearly salary will be 12k higher than when I was an employee at my editing job (was only fulltime for a 2 months). And the yearly bonus is apparently very good.
I asked for the 6week trial so I could sort things out my current job. So many things are in the loop that I need to try and organize our schedules so I can either keep doing it at night or on the weekends, or transition to a new guy to replace me. So I'll be a part time support dude for them until end of June roughly.
Suffice to say my salary goes up by like 330%.
Got a 240GB Sata 6 SSD for $20 B)

Yea, HD60 Pro, HD60S, HD60, Streamdeck.
I mean technically, I'm under the parent company of just Elgato, but they said like 75-80% of the workload is gaming related.
That's pretty cool dude, hope the best for you

get some sick discounts on capture cards
They said they were going to send over all the other products to me so I can get hands on use with em. Mainly the new streamdeck which is dope.
After some really long weeks of overtime I'm finally caught up at work. My bar of tickets has finally turned "green" per the goal number.

Speaking of arcade machines, it drives me nuts when I see a TV connected to the system having really obvious overscan, or when the UI has really shitty scaling.
Congrats brt!
[sp]you gotta get us some sikh deals on elgato stuff now pls mr social media pr guy[/sp]

Or extremely bad bit rot. The Namco arcade machine at a local pizza hut constantly spazzes out on the demo screens.
did someone say japanese rhythm game cabinets?

Managed to get an Exchange email server up and running (and my emails don't get put into spam!)
As much as I like the UI aspect of Exchange, jesus it's a pain to configure

Finally someone who can relate :v
Been a while since I shared my Exchange Server pain
Why would you willingly use Exchange, the single most uncompliant mailserver there has ever been? They still use X.500 ffs
The streamdeck seems like a flashy way to gouge money from streamers who think they need to blow more money on their setup
A friend was running AV for a convention the other weekend and their entire lighting / camera setup was controlled by a launchpad covered in labels :v:

Mine is five dollar numpads
I intercept inputs at a low level, so each device has unique actions

Its all about the cloud now anyway, mail servers are going extinct

The only thing I've not been able to figure out is how to create a catch-all mailbox (even after reading the ms docs)

Since most streamers are a one-person band, it looks like it's a lot easier for you to use a streamdeck than use an actual video switcher

Wait, what's hard about Exchange? Last time I touched it, you just installed it and the rest of it was DNS bullshit.
