I fucking got baited and switched as well. Bought a Prime B350M-A + R7 1700, with a CMU16GX4M2C3000C15 set (Corsair LED Vengeance, don't judge me). Asus lists my set as XMP 2933 compatible, and yet I can only POST with 2600. :( What setup are you running? Stock cooler? What mobo?
Same Ram (without LED) Asus Prime Pro X370. On the beta bios XMP worked out of the box with 2 dimms.
The new AEGIS has support for 2T, should help run a lot of memory at higher speeds. Obviously your data transfer rate will take the impact, but you're clocking that thing as high as you can to get the CCX speed up, so you don't really care as much.
Set up the UniFi controller the other day and provisioned my first UniFi ap. The controller is so satisfyingly usable. Just need to get it installed on the wall and connected to a PoE switch :-)
So far i can safely say that the 1700 was really fucking worth it, already had the AOI, overclocked it to 4.05 for shits and giggles, but the voltage difference of that vs running at ~3.9 was so much, that for day-to-day use we're sticking with comfy and cool 3.9. The Memory has been a bit of a headache, i bought the recommended set by some website. Found out later that it was a bit of a bait and switch and they were no longer running samsung-b-die, making them a terrible choice. So at that point i was stuck running 3000mhz sticks at 2.4, every bios update managed to push them a little further, and currently on the beta bios they actually run at 3ghz. Problem tho, somehow managed to get in a situation where i needed more then 16gb of RAM and needed it NOW. So had to go to 4dimms, official max on that is 2133. But with bios upgrades also managed to get that to 2.677-2.800 and stock timings. [editline]7th June 2017[/editline] The memory timing menu now has about 30 different settings, it's fucking madness.
Get your latest BIOS. Also you are locked to 2667 if you have 4 DIMMs loaded, my board does up to 3200mHz with just 2 DIMMs installed. Some others might be able to do 3600-4000

That's on 2666 :s:
Well M.2 exposes the PCIe bus though right? Which is why the faster SSDs are either straight PCIe or M.2? I don't really pretend to know about this new shit since my computers are all trucking along just fine as is haha.
You can sort of think of M.2 as USB Type C. Other than the shape, TypeC itself doesn't mean much, could be thunderbolt 3, USB2, USB3, USB 3.1, gen1 USB 3.1 gen2, could have power delivery, might not. Could have display port, might not.
So I decided to ask helpdesk for assistance setting up the cellspot. They responded finally with a helpdesk-tier no.
With reference to your email regarding “Installation of internet connected cell signal repeater”, we have checked and we do not support the below issue. Ticket will be closed . Thank you for giving us an opportunity to be of your assistance; please do revert to help us serve you better.
Boy do I love contracted help-desk from india. Aight, plan B. Not sure yet what plan B is. Its either to send the cellspot back, get the repeater antenna pair from them, and pray the bigger antenna picks up SOMETHING from tmobile's faraway tower... or... Set up a VPN server at home and tunnel to said VPN through a pi zero W taped to the back of the cellspot and do it anyway out of spite

That really shits over the idea of reliability and performance pretty well. Not something I'd want to deal when using my phone.

Not something I'd want to deal when using my phone.
I guess you're right. I just didn't expect reliability issues when passing a max of 2mbps. Latency would be noticable though I imagine... but I should probably find a better solution if myself plus 5 others would be using it. Oh well, time to return it and get the booster pair.
Is it just me or did GTX 1070 prices go UP very recently?

Man that's malark I was about to buy one. Guess I'll wait a while longer.
Might be an extended consequence of low stock of the Polaris - people are selling their AMD cards on eBay for quite a large profit margin then using that money to buy higher spec Nvidia cards.
Yanno what grinds my gears Being asked to look through my privacy settings every week (they're all off), and the only options are "yes" and "later". Bit pushy, Microsoft

If this is an NVIDIA card, then why are there all these different cards with seemingly different manufactures? Are they copies of the NVIDIA card? Do they all work the same? Can you even buy a legit NVIDIA (Not EVGA, MSI, etc.) card? How does this all work?
ACD is canceling their unlimited plan. RIP. Now it's 1TB for the same cost. To store all my stuff in there It'd cost something like 2800$ a year. instead of 60 bucks.

Better brand tends to purchase the higher binning chips over budget brands, which is why those cards often costs more.
Library is not something I'd consider an IT related company. They have computers, that's about it.
Well, most jobs are better than no job, but a library is not exactly something I'd see as IT related.
Gotta have somebody to update Adobe Reader on the decade old Dell Optiplexes.
