Computers are confusing.
So on my old P4 Windows XP would see all the ram I had in the machine up to the 32-bit limit.
On the new machine however it doesn't matter what arrangement so far I've put my four gigs in, Windows will only see 2.24gb of available memory at all times even though it indicates that the Physical Address Extension is loaded.
Which new machine? If it's actually new, why mess with a 32bit OS?
if you got an IGP or smaller GPU, newer OS's use system ram for graphics vram.

Ohhh my god I need these. I have so little room though, it's such a hard decision
I put a new CPU into my Thinkpad a bit ago only to put it all back together and realize I never tightened the screw to secure the CPU in place so it wouldn't boot and I had to take the whole thing apart again. :hammered:

The 1070 I used in this build for a friend was $315 open box at Microcenter, barely used with all box candy included
Hmm there's a microcenter not TOO far from me I should call and ask if they have an open box one laying around. Or maybe they haven't been affected by the price hike yet.
aw, i got the badge but I don't get to wave my penis about how long i've been an insider

Hmm, haven't downloaded an insider build for over a year, still got the badge.

I remember one of my old computers had an option in BIOS called "reallocate ram" or something like that. If it was disabled, the computer would only report about 2.5GB RAM (which it was by default). When enabled it would see all 4GB.
ACD is canceling their unlimited plan. RIP.
Now it's 1TB for the same cost. To store all my stuff in there It'd cost something like 2800$ a year. instead of 60 bucks.
That sucks..

Assembler for my vCPU is now functional~~ Time to write the linker
So the AMD price hike is affecting older cards too?

It's going for more than the original MSRP :v:
Looks like I should sell.

Now, do I sell and use a backup GPU (7870) and hold out for a Vega upgrade? That sounds like an awful lot of effort for $200 worth of GPU
I ordered one of those PCIE riser things so I can throw my old 270X on an 1x slot and use that too.
Motherboard doesn't have space for the card, there's connectors and bullshit in the way, but if the card is outside the case, that's not a problem.
Do we have a release date/estimate on VEGA yet? I'm gonna hold out in hopes it drives the cost of 1070s down.

If it drives the prices for Nvidia 10-series GPUs down, then that's great.
Also it's been some time since Ryzen has came out. Is it actually good?

VEGA should be out (probably in pretty limited quantities) according to AMD (iirc) in late July. The Pro version is launching this month, supposedly.
Wondering why web fonts aren't working when the links to them are http and the site is https: 1 hour
Why do they still make movies where they switch camera position every second. Shit is unwatchable.
Because the editor made it one way, the director wants it this way, and the producers want it a different way.
I guess.

I've mentioned it before but my Ryzen 5 1600 is great and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone choosing between it and an i5.
The single core performance gap is small enough where the 6 cores/12 threads are absolutely worth it over the i5's 4 cores/4 threads.

They only exist because microsoft are trying to push 3d knowledge and creativity into the casual market.
If I want to put it brutally, it's normie software, anyone with an excessive interest should use more feature full and professional software.
What is wrong with some people posting reviews on the play store, there's always a ton of 1 star reviews for the most bullshit reasons. Magenta is a gaudy and easily 'overpowering' color, so it's best used sparingly outside of a actual logo.

Everyone reviews the fucking shipping instead of the lens :v:
Getting something shipped to you without 1-2 weeks past the expected delivery date is a miracle of it's own.
