So. Microsoft made a new keyboard. It has a fingerprint sensor in it, cuz gimmicks and stuff but there's something about it I just... can't put my finger on, it's almost like I've seen this before...
Apple lack meta action keys, both at the bottom of the keyboard, and above the keyboard (some as function overrides), but go up to F19 👀
Flat keys only deserve to live on laptops.
Those Apple keyboards were absolute trash. No key throw, no feedback, and if you spill water on them they're fucked. There is no way to repair them. None. I guarantee this MS one is going to be the same. And it's $130.

How much are surface type covers?
I bought one, with a free upgrade to V2, has lasted at least 4 years

Yeah, they've done that since forever now. Not sure if anything actually uses them.
oh,
I have not seen this screen in a long time

Totally different. The Apple keyboard has some extra padding. I see absolutely no similarities otherwise.

I use the spare function set for magic keybinds
OS support them even if the keyboard doesn't, perfect to capitalise on, modify my keyboards to do so

Honestly if Apple decided to go for a copyright suit I'd be right on their side. This is straight design theft. And not even a good design. Even the F16-F19 keys. Even the "Clear" key instead of a numlock. Something that I have only ever seen on a Mac.
But that design is straight up lifted.

I used IIS once because I didn't want to fuck around with apache
I still don't want to, I just use nginx
school assignment
would have got perfect marks if I didn't forget to test one feature.
single line of code ;_;7

My job basically started me on any serious programming, but we're full Windows so I thought IIS was pretty nice!
Then I too discovered nginx.
Being able to intuitively write the configuration from scratch is great. Microsoft's XML bullshit configs are a pain in the ass. God forbid you want to do something like set up redirects or HTTPS, something that would take 5 minutes of writing configs for nginx...
Datto seriously has some of the best support of the industry. If anyone's looking for a good (read expensive) backup solution, I highly suggest them.

There's little reason to use nginx on windows unless you're already familiar with it, the benefit of multiprocess, which is why people are legitimately using it, is lacking on the windows version.
I for one couldn't give a shit about re-learning apache's config and setup,
My server just runs a WNMP stack, even though it's not actually using the database, other applications are...

Mmmm, that normalized relational database design though.

Jesus. I cannot fathom spending $130 on a keyboard that isn't even mechanical.

It literally feels the same as drawing letters on a wooden board and pretending to type
I find it amazing that shit designed to run on Win 95 on a 133 MHz pentium still works fine in W10.

If stuff was designed better, less programs would become obsolete.
Neat, Amazon just bought out my companies biggest customer. Good thing we have a 10 year contract with them.
Just had a rather odd interview :v:
It wasn't a live interview or a Skype interview, but rather I got questions and had to record a video of myself answering them.
I never thought I'd feel way more awkward interviewing in my own home than by employers at an office.

I've done one of those
It was a flash web app
:/
Got a bit sick of my laptop being so slow and I don't have the money for a new one, so I bought a $5 HDD caddy and swapped it out for the CD drive using my desktops SSD. I never play games anymore, might as well spruce up my laptop.
Anyway it's fantastic.

I had one of those, my problem was since I could re-record as many times as I wanted, I was an absolute perfectionist
I spent maybe 20 minutes trying to record a 90 second response because I'd just reset every time I stuttered a word or lost my train of thought
