Are you sure its booting from the HD at all? I had the issue of chkdsk running in between install phases stopping me from installing/updating windows 10, unless i pressed a button to skip. Somewhere around the 70% mark with 2gb of memory, it just seemingly crashed.
There is no longer a Windows install on the hard drive, I'm booting the Windows 10 installer via USB drive and trying to install Windows 10 onto a partition on the hard drive. I already did disk checking and formatting the partitions before installing. Same annoying issue. Last time this happened, I got a new hard drive and it installed just fine. I may end up RMA-ing this hard drive.
What are the chances of my components being dead if my powersupply died one day with no warning and just refused to power on? Also does anyone have a Corsair cx750?
If your last power supply was a good one, and it didn't go out with a bang or melt any of your components, chances are the rest of your hardware is probably fine.
Anyway, got a question for you guys. I've got a bunch of LGA 1156 i3 cpus lying around that I want to put into boards and potentially sell as a complete system down the line a bit.
Have any of you used these knockoff LGA 1156 motherboards from ebay (china)?

To me, it seems as though they share a similar build quality as a cheap prebuild machine board would.

With how many issues you're encountering with this computer I'm inclined to believe you forgot to exorcise it first.
Anyone got a good recommendation for a Chrome plugin for adding media key support to Youtube etc? Something lightweight, preferably.
youtubecenter dev is my fave yt thing
YTCenter isn't a good place to go right now. I love it, but with the new layout, it's dead. When that hits globally, it will be useless.
https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/issues/2416
Right now I'd say use https://github.com/ParticleCore/Particle and then when the new layout hits jump to https://github.com/ParticleCore/Iridium
Problem with particle/iridium is that the creator is really stubborn and doesn't let people make pull requests or in any way help with development (other than translation for whatever reason) even though he keeps on stating how limited his time is
[editline]20th June 2017[/editline]
I really hope someone that actually understands github/oss makes a new addon for the new layout

Unfortunately YTCenter really does have the same issue these days. The guy behind it is kinda-sorta working on a replacement but it really is going to be much smaller in scope, whereas Iridium is going to be Particle featureset plus some more. As far as I'm aware it's just the only good choice :(
Anyone know what to do if I can't renew my TypeKit? It keeps saying that the charge is declined and to contact my bank, but they don't even see a record of the attempted transaction on their end and I have more than enough money to cover the $50/year charge. Credit cards are also a no-go.
I just want my fonts again!
If anyone's been thinking about grabbing a new aftermarket laptop battery off eBay, I've had some pretty sweet success with mine after letting it cycle enough times.
99.5% capacity

Cycle count 28, cell imbalance is within measurement error based on SMAPI data.
I tried to find a new battery for my fathers laptop but didn't find any, even no 6cell ones.
Had a look at Epyc coverage before sleeping.
Intel BTFO. I can sleep well.

Yeah, it looks like AMD has an advantage. Only thing that might trip them up is ecosystem - can they get enough people to make boards and servers for it? It wouldn't take much - Facebook, Amazon or Google could make enough boards for just their internal use to make a decent profit.

Mate they had every vendor on planet Earth, on stage simultaneously, sucking their dicks.
HP, Dell, Supermicro...

Fucking Baidu is going AMD. That's a lot of chips.

I've seen plenty of new tech come out, with lots of logos from partner companies, that still fizzled.
How many companies did SATA Express claim support from? And not a single drive released. Didn't the same happen with Cell?
I'm optimistic but I don't think AMD can claim victory just yet.
As much as I love them, honestly if anyone can still manage to fuck everything up it's AMD

Why buy one hard drive for $200 when you can buy what amounts to sixteen drives for the same price? ;^)
Most boards have sata express built into the chipset and had the port ready.
But yeah lack of drives lol

Wish they'd remove sata express for more pcie
Wish Intel would do at least something pro consumer

Welp, bought the Oneplus 5 on Impulse, it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow but I will be out of the house for most of the first half of the day, so I hope UPS is just gonna redeliver on Friday if it fails.
Come September: Introducing 1+5U
...I might still be slightly bitter about 3T popping out two... weeks, I think? After my 3 arrived.
Anyway, uh, a distraction

Good times.

UPS is shit. On Monday they said my package was going to arrive late due to inclement weather.

Sure.
What, you don't remember that snowstorm we got Monday when it was in the 80's and sunny?
I bought a Pixel XL yesterday
Well a bunch of flights got canceled in the southwest because it was too hot for planes to take off. That might be related.

Possibly. I read the post as the inclement weather was where he's at, not origin.

It was out for delivery Monday, yeah. I got it yesterday.
Our mysql server is behaving badly and nobody knows why :suicide:
GF's computer finally got so fucking problematic that we just went out yesterday and bought a ryzen 1600, gigabyte gaming 3 mobo, and 8gb ddr4 to just gut the bitch and retry.
It was either the mobo, the processor, or something ram related. Any one of those three failing means money spent replacing parts so we just bit the bullet and upgraded.
Although, at first she was going to get the 1400. Then we saw $20 more got the 1500x. Then halfway home we saw another $10 got the 1600, so we turned around and exchanged for it.
tfw you're handed a 5 page spec sheet about all the details of the format a commercial for MTV needs and then when you say you're on Windows so ProRes isn't an option they reply with "ok .mov is fine. thanks."
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhat
Oddly enough, a package I got yesterday arrived late too. The guy who delivered it just wanted to complain about the map of my apartment complex, like I don't disagree but give me my package.
It had been scheduled for delivery before 8pm but got here at like 8:45. Last time I got a package scheduled for delivery before 8pm it showed up at 10:30am :v:
