No I just really hate myself and I needed something to take my pain away

We've got a wifi IP camera setup at work. For the NVR we use GeniusVision. It's free. It's also super compatible with lots of brands of cameras. Downside is it's a little basic and obtuse but you can set really cool location based recording rules and alarms.
There are a few similarities between how I prefer to program and my lifestyle: Object-oriented, easy to understand, and completed with minimum effort.
Yeah I agree, functional programming is pretty weird. It has its own niches though, and it's quite useful in concurrent programming since nothing is mutable
So One Plus failed to respond to most of my communications and refused to do anything on the rare occasion I could solicit a response. They didn't even respond to my PayPal dispute. Now that it escalated to a claim, they respond. And they keep telling me to cancel the claim (lose any way to get my money back) or they won't refund it nor send a replacement. I told them that their agreement with PayPal requires them to send a replacement before I can cancel it and they just told me to cancel it and wait for their 'investigation'. Which is ridiculous, considering UPS has confirmed that the package is lost a day after it was supposed to be delivered.
Last time i had a paypal dispute I just rode it out until i could escalate. Stated my piece to PP and it was ruled in my favor 64min later

Can't say much for an IP system but I do run a composite video system over Cat 5. The key is choke filters and baluns.

Going back to the old UI is awful after using the dark theme for almost two months, holy shit.
i was losing my free 200gb onedrive storage soon, so I took it upon myself to turn an old netbook I had collecting dust, and install linux on it, learning the basics of apache2 and SSL and mySQL to make my own cloud storage system with owndrive.
For someone with so much experience with technology in general, I have oddly little expertise with linux, so this was a fun learning experience to say the least. All in all it was a fun afternoon
New windows 10 insider build

I think you have to ask his permission if you want to sex his fursona.
Also, that setup looks uncomfortable for playing just about anything else.
He barely plays FPS and has a stupid high sensitivity, he doesn't need much mouse space. And he's been pretty comfortable using it as his desk for the past couple days
They sound like a scammy ebay seller.
A friend of mine told me that he had a DOA device (one plus 3, camera lens was broken), they told him he was shit out of luck because he didnt report it within 24 hours. He told them that within 14 days (EU law) he can return it for any reason anyway, they basically replied 'Yes that is the law but our policy says X and so it overwrites the law'.
This is the third OnePlus device I ordered, so far I had held them in high regard because their products were decent and they seemed fairly genuine in their marketing. I had heard about their support being bad but figured it was just hard to RMA, which sadly is too common to really worry about it.
Turns our they are a really scummy company that is too stupid to care about customer retention. This whole thing started out not being their fault at all. When I didn't get my device I was pissed, but pissed at UPS for losing it a few kilometers from me. I had bought a fairly expensive toy and ordered it with express shipping. It was a pure impulse buy, so obviously I wanted it now and not someday in the far future.
It only started being 1+'s problem when I had received confirmation from UPS that the parcel is lost and they even told me to contact the seller to get a replacement ASAP, UPS even mentioned that their agreements basically define this as SOP when a parcel is lost, the seller receiving compensation straight away.
Things just went downhill from there, with 1+ telling me on the phone to just wait for the parcel to be delivered, the chinese girl with lacking english basically disregarding the fact that UPS confirmed that it wouldn't be delivered. (The connection was also really shitty so that was a torturous call already)
Fine, fuck you, opened a PayPal dispute, their agreement with paypal requires a prompt response with an arbitration offer. - Nope, no response.
Took to twitter, no response. Contacted their live chat, told them the situation, was told they'd have to investigate and can't send a replacement. Was also told he'd create a ticket and escalate it, can't do anything for me. No ticket was created.
Finally found their ticket submission form, which conveniently you can't access from the ticket system itself. Opened a ticket, received a response a day later that it is being escalated to the 'payment specialist'. Nothing.
So meanwhile the minimum wait time for a non-receipt claim was over and I escalated the dispute to a claim and within a few hours I received a reply to the ticket, directly referencing the paypal claim (Also note that PayPal requires all communication to go through them once a claim has been opened!), telling me to close it or they can't offer any solution. They will however start a 5 day investigation to see if the package was lost or something. Told them to feel free and that paypal requires a response within 7 days. They told me again to cancel the claim or they won't offer a solution until I do.
Welp, told them to fuck off and that it is exact procedure for them to put the device in my hand before I cancel anything, no more response since then.
My expectation at this point is no communication until the 7 days pass, maybe a response to the claim, maybe not even that. Regardless, the claim will almost certainly be decided by paypal and i'll finally get my money back. At this point I'm seriously considering reporting them to paypal for the several ToS violations by trying to bypass buyer protection and have them shut down.
Fuck, that became longer than I wanted.
tl;dr: Don't buy from OnePlus, they are a horrible company and will fuck you over first chance they get.
Off-topic I've been waiting for this for years, but I'm a Twitch affiliate (Partner Lite). And you get one Emote slot...

Yeah, I loved my one plus one but the more I hear about one plus as a company, I'm glad I never got around to ordering a 3/3t
Glad I just got a Pixel XL. First party, awesome hardware, and I plan on moving to Fi which will work well for me.

Still on my OPO and got no real complaints, but I still don't feel like paying for a real flagship device. Really hate this whole deal, I don't need to upgrade yet, but now I've lost one good contender forever :/
At this point I'm just desperate to upgrade my Moto G3, been on the equivalent of a S3 for five years now.
New mobo came with a header block with all the front I/O labelled so you can plug them into that and plug the whole lot in in one go and it's just such a good idea. Only part of PC building that was labelled badly and generally annoying as fuck is now simple, thanks ASUS.
Gigabyte boards have that too, or at least one of the x370 boards I looked at did

This one is X370 too, might just be something they started doing this generation.
I have a Z77 board from Gigabyte and that has labelled front I/O too, so I dont think it's new

ASUS always had that.

Gigabyte didn't always have this.
I think my old AM2+ mobo (circa 2009?) had an I/O block, it's just a QOL improvement some manufacturers include

Asus had that since the c2 era

What a fucking hassle. I was lucky with my OnePlus 3 order and had no issues. Glad I haven't had to deal with their customer service!

My OPO went fine and the OnePlus 2 I ordered for a friend had no issues either. It was only now that I had to actually interact with them that I got to experience this atrocious mess.

Imagine having to do an actual RMA because something breaks D:
ASUS always had that.
No. My current ASUS board (Z170-P D3) doesn't have one.
Surprising, since even the low end ASUS boards I've owned had it, decades ago. Although my new one didn't include a buzzer anymore :(
