Depends on the brand really, Dell prebuilts used to use non-standard pinouts on their PSUs, but use the same ATX 20pin connector
If you tried to use a standard PSU instead of their (unsurprisingly overpriced) replacement, you'd roast shit

It all depends. Some use standard, some use 20pin with different pinouts, some use their own connector. There's very little consistency. My old XPS used a standard though luckily so I could actually put a GPU in it with the C2Q.

While a novel concept, it was still too different from ATX to catch on.

I guess that's what you get when you design a motherboard standard around using fucking P4s in small computers

It was designed so the CPU fan also worked as the general intake fan, and hot or critical components got cooled the most.
But it turned out to be horrible for anything but normie buy-and-throw-away computers.
Paycheck for my first month at Elgato is already out. Crazy it's already a month. Already the biggest paycheck I've ever had and most money I'll have had in my bank.

I worked with hundreds of HP Elite 8xxx SFF desktops and the newer prodesk 600 sff. They're surprisingly well engineered and very reliable.

Worked on an upgrade project with a hospital system with 35k systems, many of which were those. Hardware upgrades and W7 upgrade. Pretty easy to work on SFF considered.
Won't POST at DOCP 3000, I assume it's going to need a BIOS update so I'll try that later today after windows is sorted.

2666 is typically the most common people hit. But newer bioses are improving all the time.
God DAMN the FITpc2 is adorable.

I got it specifically because it's the cheaper of the two sets on the QVL at 3000MHz.

Fuck.
[editline]owo[/editline]
Looked again, QVL does say 2666, boots fine at 2800 so whatever. Massive upgrade from 1333. Traded 16% single threaded performance for 159% multi threaded performance. :ok:
What the hell happened to DDR4 pricing? I wanted to buy another 16GB stick for the sake of dual channel, but it's gone from 60€ to 133€ since i bought my last one :wow:
Since I'm traveling to PAX west (got my press badge approved), will need a good laptop to take with me since I got the ability to go by willing to do 2-3 hours of work while I'm there per day remotely. Now I'm thinking I might want a laptop I can edit some basic stuff on, so my needs are creeping up. Just wanted a solid used Lenovo for like 450-500. But hmm.

am I hearing thinkpad?
[QUOTE=Scratch.;52420638]am I hearing thinkpad?[/QUOTE]
I think it was Kiwi that sent me some links to some thinkpad type Lenovo's enough for just remote working. But it's tempting to maybe just get like a Razor Blade due to Thunderbolt and better editing performance.
If you're willing to spend $500 maybe go for something with a better screen and newer processor, perhaps from the Dell Latitude line.
[editline]1st July 2017[/editline]
Well shit get an XPS 15 if you're willing to spend that much.
I'd recommend the XPS 15 for days
Any other colors offered for it besides "generic dell silver" Makes it look like a cheap inspiron. If only Dbrand had a skin for it.
They do?

It's listed under X and not D for dell. :s:

Carbon fiber wrap.
I've honestly thought about it a few times, but I've managed to avoid the rice.
that white carbon fiber skin looks breddy good
See this is what I'm looking for. Something that just makes it... not look like Dell.

It's why I liked the look of the Blades. They were like a MacBook like design and feel while being different.

I already snapped and stuck on some striped reflective tape normally meant for construction equipment.

My friend laser cuts fuckloads of these and tags places with them, I've got a bunch :v:
Well I'd probably buy it later this month if I did, but dunno if I should bother with the 4k screen, Would be a luxury, but prob not worth $400. Since I still have some other things I wanna get before PAX. But I can finance it. Already paid off my Ryzen upgrade.
But the XPS would come to like 2400. rip
