I wish more than just Sony would focus on flagship tier 4.5" phones, I don't really want a serving tray in my pocket
iPhone SE has full size hardware in a 4.3" form factor.
I'm a avid worshiper of "bumper" cases for that exact reason, which is why "edge" screens is one of the dumbest shit invented since they make effective bumper cases impossible to design for the device.
Gotta love curved screens so you can't use tempered glass protectors and you have to choose between no protection or an awful feeling plastic one.
iPhone SE has full size hardware in a 4.3" form factor.
But then I have to buy an iPhone
iPhone SE has full size hardware in a 4.3" form factor.
Closed garden ecosystem and general dickish behavior against you if you don't follow their vision of how to use it. Even though Google's also becoming increasingly guilty of that [editline]5th July 2017[/editline] Not to mention holy shit the pricetag
Also the SE is outdated and no longer a phone to look towards being it a iPhone 6S in a smaller shell.
the 6s still holds up today imo. i wouldn't call it outdated and depending on the popularity of the SE, we might see something similar announced with the 8 in the fall. that's just my own speculation tho
Typically... I'm lucky with my phones. They often break right around when they become absolutely terrible to use due to slowdown and crashes. But I overnighted a new case and tempered protector. I mean it took like 23 months for me to put a crack in my Nexus 6. But to be fair, that thing was built well, IMO.
I dropped my Nexus 6 100ft off a tower and it landed in a bush without a scratch. Well built for sure.
Edge screens scare me. Hard enough to use largish phones without touching the screen by accident.
The edge screen on the S7 Edge was so prone to accidental touches I had to install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchboarder.xedge.free&hl=en That's all I ever need to know about Edge screens. Perfectly happy with my flat, gigantic iPhone 7+ screen now.
Discord is pretty unique in its community focus and mainly because of that, it's a decent replacement for the old forums+ventrilo/mumble/teamspeak+steam(+im) stack we used to run for the last 10 years. "I am special" features seem to sell pretty well, and there are some upcoming titles that use discord for friends and/or voip, so i don't see it going any time soon.
This is why you don't use libraries raw. Get them in SASS, LESS, etc form. Cut out the parts that dont matter. modify them. Don't run them straight.
Write your own css, only way you'll ever learn [t]https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/17-07-06_08-52-04.png[/t] Don't even need extra dependencies for variables, something I picked up from editing firefox XUL. All of them are set out from javascript, of course that is only an option, since that's now how it's done within Firefox

It's my job, I'm just saying don't ever discount a useful tool just because many use them poorly
I don't reinvent the wheel to do simple webpages. generally i just grab some template stuff and modify to fit the needs. i already feel quite comfortable with bootstrap flexibility and usage, so why bother doing from scratch? Like, with this template you can do pretty much any simple webapp or business website, and really fast.
I do. It's my job, I'm just saying don't ever discount a useful tool just because many use them poorly
yeah of course, these alternatives exist for a reason, and with proper use cases... of which isn't hit by the many. Wasn't at all a pick at you, though, there are a number of other people in this thread css variables work well in my case since I don't have to run anything at all, considering their windows cli is ontop of ruby. makes me think of jquery lol
Well I picked up one of those 8tb WD Easystores that are supposed to be WD Reds inside. Time to test it then shuck it and throw it into my host. 8tb seedbox/plex media volume here I come!
I don't reinvent the wheel to do simple webpages. generally i just grab some template stuff and modify to fit the needs.
My simple pages are pretty simple that they work in lynx [t]https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/17-07-06_09-38-54-odyssey.png[/t]

When those were going on I didn't have the cash to pick a few up. Though In my use case I'd probably use them directly in the shell until the warranty ended and then put them in my server bays.
Interesting, I'll have to open it up and find out. [editline]5th July 2017[/editline] From my reading just a month ago the new stock seems to still be Reds
I now know how some of you are using TBs of bandwidth each month
[editline]5th July 2017[/editline]
People STILL use Skype after it's been the software equivalent of a huge pile of shit the last 5 years?
I use skype for voice because no matter how much I try, Discord is so unreliable. I use discord for 90% of stuff.
Windows 10 ads... No thanks.
I'm a avid worshiper of "bumper" cases for that exact reason, which is why "edge" screens is one of the dumbest shit invented since they make effective bumper cases impossible to design for the device.
My case works just fine with my edge screen. I can touch the edges, drop it face down and the screen doesn't touch and the sides are protected. [editline]5th July 2017[/editline] The only time I have an issue with the edge is when a chat bubble is sitting right on top of the spot you touch to open the edge menu, and that only inconveniences me for half a second.
The XPS? I thought it said 40gbps, or was that only in one direction.
Nope, it's 20Gbps. You will only realistically see bandwidth issues if you're like running an eGPU or something.
Nope, it's 20Gbps. You will only realistically see bandwidth issues if you're like running an eGPU or something.
It's worth mentioning, it's still possible to get decent eGPU performance, even with the not-so-ideal bandwidth. I wouldn't rely on it as my sole gaming machine, though. It's equivalent to PCIe 3.0 x2 or PCIe 2.0 x4.
So I'm mod of a sub on reddit (not saying which yet) and I need to learn/edit CSS. Lay some resources on me.
What is the recommended anti virus nowadays? Panda was fine but now it's popping this clickbait as fuck ad every day and it's annoying as shit. Can't be Avira because it uses US date format and it has to not make it a pain in the ass to add exceptions for all the time it fucks up and marks miners as trojans etc.
Avast isn't bad but you have to turn off a bunch of shit it has to not be annoying Bitdefender is also decent
I'll try out Avast for a while. Also got around to installing the NH D15, idle temps went from 50 to 35 C. Prime 95 burn test went from thermal shutdown at 80 to being steady at 61. :ok: Just gotta get around to taking it from 3.7 to 4 now that it's on a real cooler.

I used to have Norton a while back and I liked it since it was quick and adding exceptions/rules was really easy (and port forwarding was an option), but I don't know how good it is now.
