Windows 10 ads... No thanks.
OS level advertising? are they actively trying to be hated by anyone who's a tiny bit technologically competent?
My case works just fine with my edge screen. I can touch the edges, drop it face down and the screen doesn't touch and the sides are protected. [editline]5th July 2017[/editline] The only time I have an issue with the edge is when a chat bubble is sitting right on top of the spot you touch to open the edge menu, and that only inconveniences me for half a second.
It's not a real bumper case then, of all the defect smartphones I've witnessed, almost all of them died or became unusable from hitting a hard surface with the long side edge of the phone, preferable the screen edge side.
I've personally given up using anti-virus, there isn't a single one that isn't bloated or deficient in some way, besides the actual protection provided isn't all that great since they all rely on signature checking or behavioral analysis both of which are practically useless against new threats, common sense and keeping your system up to date is just as good if not better than having anti-virus software.
No, they haven't. This exact same situation has happened before. Remember when we had MSN, AIM, ICQ, GTalk, Yahoo Messenger, and a thousand other proprietary ones? This is not a new situation, and just like that one, the situation will resolve itself just the same, and the only ones to win will be the standards, just as before. It's just really damned annoying until then. Then it will happen again. And I will still be using IRC, XMPP and SIP.
Those messengers weren't nearly as good at vendor lock-in as modern day social networks (to which I'd count Discord and such). Or as effective at screwing with third-party clients. Or required as little technical knowledge to use (especially across multiple devices). Or...
This would only count as OS level if you count applications being pre-installed giving notifications you won't get this if you uninstall skype, but it comes with the default set of packages topkek (User was banned for this post ("Kek memeshit" - Kiwi))

I as a user (and salesperson) always recommend the regular user to get one, as they won't know the steps to clean and recover if they use bare minimum tools like most computer peeps do.
What is the recommended anti virus nowadays? Panda was fine but now it's popping this clickbait as fuck ad every day and it's annoying as shit. Can't be Avira because it uses US date format and it has to not make it a pain in the ass to add exceptions for all the time it fucks up and marks miners as trojans etc.
Bitdefender is the current king. Far better than Panda, the AV that bricks computers by flagging itself as malware.

There's a perfectly good mobile client on Android, and fairly good ones on desktop.
Do you guys think using something like Grafana would be a little overkill for giving quick stats about my home NAS? Looking into it, it seems awfully involved to set up
So my comment on that Mia Khalifa tweet was over the line apparently. Had a discussion about it. FeelsBadMan
On here or on Twitter? Wouldn't surprise me if they came through here.
I RT'd it and said something like "Probably mains Hanzo".
So my comment on that Mia Khalifa tweet was over the line apparently. Had a discussion about it. FeelsBadMan
lmao but that tweet you did was so tame. is it time to open up a secret twitter account for you to rt memes with?

I mean I don't blame them. But still a real bummer. I decided to mute all elgato stuff on my feed to avoid replying to it accidently as a joke. Also removed it from my twitter and twitch profiles. Edit: To be clear, we now sponsor Mia Khalifa for her livestreaming. So it wasn't just completely disconnected. I should have been careful about how I interacted in general, so it's my fault anything came up.

It's scary to have to worry about what you follow and post.
Yea I always assumed that I'd never end up being in a position like that. Since I had done youtube for years where you network with creators and companies you like. And you were sort of directly responsible for your own reputation, vs someone you rep. Idk.
I still have my precautions. One of my managers followed me on Twitter, since then I've kept it tame. Just don't want to have it bite me in the ass.
I have quite a few friends who have multiple instagram accounts, one that is open and has the generic pictures while traveling and whatnot and then other private account what has pics with friends out drinking ors.

[editline]6th July 2017[/editline] o no did I create a new thread too early, i'm a failure :(
