Gamers Nexus is infinitely better than LTT and it's a damn shame their good content doesn't get enough publicity because they refuse to water it down with ads and clickbait.
Just gonna throw one of these up

Not with Nokia's patents not being infringed and quality assurance.
Spec-wise they look great, and with the right marketing Nokia should be able to bounce back.
So there's a guy in my class who never goddamn learns. Every time he walks away to go to the bathroom, he leaves his laptop unlocked, most of the time even with his fucking Facebook wide open.
Once one of our classmates set a bunch of shemale pictures as his wallpaper and lockscreen image, and even then he hasn't taken the hint. That was last Tuesday, and during this class he walked out twice and still left it unlocked.
Next time he leaves, what other harmless yet subtle pranks should we pull off on him? I was thinking about just changing his screen orientation to Flipped and maybe changing his mouse buttons, but eh.
It was a really common thing at my school if you left your locker unlocked, someone would lock it for you, but they'd put the padlock back on upside down so it was a huge pain in the ass to undo :v:
If you kept doing it, people would just put your lock in more annoying places until you get the hint.
This is the same idea. Harmlessly fucking with them so they lock their shit before someone actually decides to do something malicious
Woo I got my mid-term marks for most of my classes and im passing all of them but math. Now I feel as if I can script the world from my little terminal :v:

But that's the thing, fucking with someone's PC isn't harmless. Changing their background doesn't really do anything, it's an easy enough fix anyone can apply. But fucking up Windows settings and many other things that were suggested are more than just a little intrusive and malicious (Not even gonna talk about stealing the discord token, that's even illegal). And a laptop means a lot to people. So if you fuck that up, it might really hurt them. No one is gonna go crying about it, but they'll probably feel it inside. This sorta shit at an early age fucks people up.

Change the normal mouse pointer to the loading mouse pointer. It's the best and pretty harmless.

Sorry, I've simply seen too many results of 'just fun', because bullying is always fun for the people not targeted. I'm not telling anyone not to cage a desktop, but asking how to further pick on someone too innate to lock their PC is just way too pathological for me to ignore.
It is easy to not even notice that you are bullying someone, I just ask to reflect on what you're doing and not make hidden changes he'll only just notice when he gets home and tries to <thing>, then is unable to do so. That's not 'dude you left your PC unlocked AGAIN, LMAO', that's plain malicious.

Sure, hidden changes to not notice until hours or days later is over the line if it's not an expected consenting situation and you don't know them too well, but I don't see the harm in asking for little things to do in general that they'll notice right away or won't actually impact usability.

So you'd prefer to just let him live in a "safe space" without a few harmless lessons and be vulnerable to someone who truly is malicious? Almost nothing that's been proposed is actually harmful, but does get the message across.

Carl Zeiss is mostly marketing branding, and AMOLED's are a risky investment for when you're trying to recoup due to failure rates.
It's what Nokia needs to survive, not for you to jizz over.

I don't know here harmful starts for you, for most non-computer people it doesn't have to be 'delete his backups and then set his PC to delete everything 5 hours later'.
I also don't know why you think I want him sheltered, but if switching his background and talking to him doesn't go through, I don't get why you think anything else that isn't actually malicious will. There's no need to 'school' people at any cost.
I'm also not sure how you can call me a hypocrite, I don't claim to be a saint, but I sure as hell don't try to single out people. And even if I had done it in the past the only right thing to do is attempting to do better?! Your "argument" seems to be 'You are not allowed to speak out against bullying because you probably bullied people before!'.
My stuff is here. Can confirm the x370 prime is AM4 only so I can't use an old AM3 backplane for it sadly. Will use the stock cooler until my AM4 bracket comes on wednesday.

How does the stock cooler look? Also let us know about the closing action, is it still as brutal as with the old coolers?
How does the stock cooler look? Also let us know about the closing action, is it still as brutal as with the old coolers?
New stock cooler is actually quite good. Won't know on its cooling performance, but this thing cost money. It's not a cheap piece of hardware. I could easily see myself using this all the time if it cooled well.
As for the securing, it's four screws which go into the backplate. But AM4 defaults to a double sided clip like before.
The CPU's latch is also much easier than I remember on AMD 64. NO crunching. Really impressed so far, but I can't build right now I got to finish up some stuff for work on my current machine before diving in.

I got something for when he learns to lock his laptop. The Ease of Access menu is available in the lockscreen. Here you can turn on the Narrator (don't forget to turn up the speakers), use High Contrast to remove his wallpaper, confuse him by using the magnifier or turn on Sticky Keys.
You can also change the narrators voice to your likings.
This is some of the childish shit me and my mates would occasionally do to each other, nothing too harmful.
Got my T420 today. For £160 I got a machine that looks pristine as if it's just sat in a dock for years. The battery is original and has around 40 cycles and the track pad/keyboard are barely used. No scratches or cosmetic damages. To top it off, the seller mentioned it had a HDD installed.. to my pleasant surprise it's an SSD!

How did you find out about how many cycles it went through? Or was it just on the listing?
I'd actually be curious to see how many cycles the battery in my x201t has went through.

Lenovo's "Power Manager" software can be installed to show the cycle count along with other information such as manufacture date, first usage date, capacity etc. Might be worth looking for it from the Lenovo website.

Cool, thanks. Apparently the charge cycle count on mine is 223. Battery is from May 2011. It says the condition is good but realistically it's like 40% battery wear so 40% of the battery performance isn't there. If I was to use a newer battery with no wear, I'd probably get 3-4 hours of battery life instead of 2.
Anyone of you know a foolproof way of safely removing the pins from the male end of extender cables for GFX power cables and the once-named P4 connector?

tried my usual techniques that works with female connectors, no dice.
The one day I'm not working I have to run IT for the washing machine... the motor needed to be reset, it wasn't spinning to dry out the clothes.

Set his default browser to IE, replace any desktop/taskbar shortcuts of browsers to IE with the appropriate icon.
And then set IE to open previous session on startup, then open 100 tabs of Rick Astley's finest before closing it.

I did it with tweezers before, male connectors are way easier than females imo.
