I remember several instances where they would fuck up some editing and QC-ing.
TIL: Symbolics once gave jobs to everyone in MIT's ai lab.
Except two people. Richard Stallman and some other guy nobody liked.
To this day RMS still has a massive grudge against anything Symbolics. He has admitted that in their heyday he sabotaged the microwave link between MIT's ai lab and the Symbolics offices in Boston.

Hey don't worry. I've been there. Twice. From SP 3.0 and some other wiki software I've never heard of.
So I noticed my original Spinpoint F3 has now passed 3.5 years of power on hours.
I feel all fuzzy, if only Samsung still made drives.

Is that a lot for spinpoints?

soon to be replaced, hopefully.
1650Days is currently my longest spinning drive in use. It's in my server.
it's 120gb :v:
76997 hours on a drive in my server, that's 3208 days or 8.7 years :v:
160GB Seagate
Longest running drive I've got is a Western Digital 650 gig at 1306 days
All it does is hold steam games though
Is that a lot for spinpoints?
I'd say anything over 2 years is fairly a lot.
But considering I've had this drive since 2012 and its still going like a trooper, it just makes me disappointed that Samsung's HDD division got bought out by Seagate of all companies.
So we were averaging 30-40 issues logged per day in support then one customer decides to just shit out 50 of the fuckers on us at once. But it's ok because they pay the big bucks and are the main reason for increasing the support team from 2 to 6.

Look at this shit.

Billable hours or under contract?
Billable hours or under contract?
Bugs are fixed for free under contract, feature requests are chargeable per hour. Minor shit like "can you add a column to this report" generally aren't charged.
Also, how to piss off your IT guy in one easy step!
1. Create a loop in some shitty dlink switch under a dusty desk on the production floor
Ohh don't get me started. I worked at a manufacturing company where they would shell out thousands for a PLC for the production line. Then they would skimp out on the networking by installing a D-link router between the PLC and manufacturing network (PLC installation was usually done by electricians, without consulting IT).
"Hey IT guy, why does your software not work?"
"... Geez I don't know... Maybe because you put your FUCKING PLC BEHIND A NAT! where my software can't reach it??!"

Didn't have local memory available, so swap file was on an sshfs share at offsite location.
protocol will be years old next year
Two years ago I retired my WD drive after 15 years of faithful service.
It was my primary drive in at least 5 machines of mine, and hell now it holds PS2 games.
I wish Techmoan would review one of these;

Can anyone recommend a mouse that is fairly large but not extremely high-priced? I have the Roccat Kone, but it's a bit expensive to get as a work mouse. It really fits my hand nicely, but I couldn't find any cheaper equivalents.

You could try a recertified Razer mouse, the DeathAdder is also fairly large and should have a similar feel. I had a DeathAdder 2012 once, really liked it.

Don't think my boss is gonna order me a recertified mouse, at that point I can just negotiate back up to a Kone.
