Oooo looks like somebody made custom firmware for Chromebooks enabling them to use Windows 10. I'm gonna stick that on there and give my old Chromebook to my Dad then.
Only 2GB RAM but eh he's an only-uses-the-web-browser-and-word type.
Got all the parts for my pfsense box!

Installing Windows Server, oh boy!
How to get that improved terminal?
[t]https://i.imgur.com/Zn7716xh.jpg[/t]
Made a new revision of my removable secondary screen, this time with a seven inch screen and put together with screws and nuts rather than glue. After this photo I put it a little lower on the lid so it would line up nicely with the laptop's screen, with the added benefit of the weight having less leverage on the laptop lid. Patent Patentng~~
Side-note my only real complaint about my Thinkpad is it has Displayport rather than HDMI. I would have preferred HDMI and then have DP on the docks, considering the intended use case of HDMI (TVs) and DP (computer monitors).
Side-side-note I gotta get a 6 inch small profile HDMI cable from Monoprice since that was the shortest HDMI cable I could find :v:
tbh I'd rather have DisplayPort than VGA on my x201t, then again 2 year differences and IIRC the current Thinkpads all come with either HDMI or miniDP anyways.
edit: I found out why ExpanDrive kept on disconnecting while I was away. Turns out anyone using the microwave in my kitchen will cause it to loose WiFi, even in my room upstairs.. sooo Ethernet it is.
Annoyingly enough, my WD 4TB hard drive can't connect to my Thinkpad via the Expresscard to USB 3 adapter. It only works for the for the USB 2 ports but I found the little USB power cable to help power the Expresscard. It shouldn't need it because the hard drive is a 3.5 inch drive with its own AC power supply. Anyways, it still wouldn't work with the Expresscard to USB 3 adapter until I tried the second USB 3 port and it magically started to work. Whatever.
Also I found out that my x201t has Gigabit Ethernet (!!!) on the x200 docking station, and the router that my ISP provided is also gigabit.
To whoever the creepy fuck is, I'm complying with demands.
The Mac is up. The drives are in and the hardware is running. El Cap runs and Parallels is set to go with Windows 10. There is still additional fine tuning but that is working. The machine is ready to be installed.

The PC is nearly finished. I had to repair a damaged trace and component before I could get both video cards to work. The ram configuration is not optimal and the fornt panel is not completely wired in but it's there. Hard drives are installed and ready to take an install. I ran out of time to properly get USB 3.0 working if you wanted this done by the end of the month co there's an adapter taped to the top of the video card. It is otherwise ready to be installed as well.

All that I need to do is install the KVM switch and I can finalize the operating systems. Another drive is being used to pull data off my P4 rig before Saturday. Please accept this as the progress you expected.
I'm assuming there's photos in that post but I wouldn't know.

Why don't you use Bootcamp for Windows instead of Parallels?
I just realized that either Hitachi makes some really reliable hard drives or I was lucky with this hard drive :v:

This hard drive came from a Dell machine which my parents usually left on 24/7, occasionally turning it off however. Now it's in my server where it is on literally all the time and still holds up well in contrast to the other Seagate drive which recently showed uncorrectable sectors. Total uptime of over six years seems pretty impressive to me.

Kind of hoping that it will last for a while because to be honest I can't afford to replace it at this moment because of my driver's lessons.

Well, the disk I/O performance under Virtualbox IS garbage.

I always preferred VMWare's solutions to Virtualbox simply because they are much faster, especially for anything graphical.

In order to get vagrant running anywhere near an appropriate speed under Virtualbox, I've got to use an NFS mount rather than vguest shared directories.

Shared folder/directory feature of vbox is mostly a ease of use convenience thing

Works fine here
It could be your DNS being fucky, I know using Google DNS on certain ISPs here causes some weird issues where you can be thrown onto the wrong CDN, which just won't load
Could be photobucket sucking ass?
Speaking of, I still cannot load any imgur images that are used within <img> tags
except for when it's loaded as the only directly from URL bar
started when imgur revamped the website

Nah, it's their shitty hotlinking redirect stuff failing, it doesn't happen everywhere for me, but more and more.
I find imgur increasingly less convenient to use. Vgyme is a good alternative.
I'm that person who keeps going "SELF HOST" even though I know theres massive downsides to it.
Also saying that I'll take any of your shit if you want to use it https://horobox.co.uk/
