Anything you guys want me to test? I can't do really side by side because... I only got one computer.
Yea or any other super CPU heavy games.
There's also the "replace a semi frequently used windows sound that's the sound + 5 minutes of silence followed by music/porn sounds" approach.
That reminds me of the time when I replaced all the windows sounds on my friends computer with light moans. He didn't realize it until the error box popped up and had a single loud moan after turning up his volume.
Yea or any other super CPU heavy games.
Can it run Crysis?
Can it run Crysis?
Yes [editline]11th March 2017[/editline] Sooooo did some testing was able to do 720p on medium preset at 120fps in overwatch while still averaging 170-180 on Gibraltar. The recorded video looks so cool since the most I often see is 60fps in a recorded file. Doubt I could stream it since the viewer would need to... decode 120fps. I did hit 85-90% CPU usage during that though and my GPU wasn't running as fast as it could, so still a CPU bottleneck roughly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0u0zviIfcy7SEpYcHZYd2M3Rms/view?usp=sharing That's the recording if people are interested. I thought I did really good as McCree, but then we stalled.
I am fairly certain Blackmagic Design intentionally cripples the keyboard shortcuts in the ATEM Software Control (which you can use to control the ATEM video switchers) so you buy their physical video switching surfaces.. Otherwise you have to deal with the limited keyboard shortcut selection and using the mouse to do EVERYTHING ELSE. Want to queue up graphics? Use the mouse. Or touchscreen on your laptop if you have that. Want to change to the graphics tab to load more graphics in? Use the mouse. FFS Blackmagic
Latest Nvidia driver (378.78) causing crashes every hour or so and making website scrolling look like a fucking checkerboard. Recommend avoiding installation or rolling back if you've already installed it [editline]11th March 2017[/editline]
So you'd prefer to just let him live in a "safe space" without a few harmless lessons and be vulnerable to someone who truly is malicious? Almost nothing that's been proposed is actually harmful, but does get the message across.
hey I don't know maybe don't touch other people's shit, that's not too hard of a lesson for you to learn, is it? I can't believe you fucks are defending touching someone else's property to fuck with their computer under the guise of "b-b-bbb-bb--b-but we're TEACHING him!", get the fuck out of here with that shit [editline]11th March 2017[/editline] how about go up to him and say "hey man, you left your computer unlocked, you really really shouldn't do that" like a normal fucking human being, and not some socially awkward nerd who can only communicate by trolling
Nice.. Got a little offer from school to render some videos, they had a theater festival and while recording it, some videos got split up every 15min or so, camera limits. I have to stitch them together, that's fine. Asked during the day if I should add some titles in the beginning to them or not, didn't get an answer in a few hours and decided that they kind of had an introductionary speech in the beginning of each scene and didn't really need a text part. Got an answer late at night that yes, they should be there but we can't send them right now due to other things that they are doing right now. I had already begun rendering a few of them as a batch and didn't add any titles as I didn't have the info. Including a render of a lossless .avi because of fucked up settings/didn't notice I had a wrong profile. I'd say 8 hours of rendering gone to waste.. Oh well, at least my room is warm now. [editline]12th March 2017[/editline] It is like 10 hours of material to render and now I think I should put a little bit of effort to remove the background noise from it and boost the vocals a bit. The camera is located next to the projector and light bench and they don't use the microphone inputs so it has a fan whirring all the time. I COULD remove it but ehh, it hasn't been done in the previous videos they have up and I don't know if the pay is worth the time yet. They would be okay with me not doing it but it would irk me a little. Another thing is my computer running the next few nights due to the rendering time being slightly around 2 hours for every hour recorded (fullhd .MTS to fullhd .wmv, haven't tried any tricks with rendering settings. using sony vegas) and running at 2 or 3 cores during the day because I want to still use my PC.
Do any of you guys tell your friends or family that you can't fix a particular problem with their PC (eg mum it's too complicated), because you really can't be bothered doing it? Or is that just me?

Probably going to accept a programming degree course in a week, I wanted to do more networking and sysadmin type stuff since I didn't feel it was my strong point but I had a tutor come to me and say he saw absolutely no reason why I couldn't become a very competent one in time. So yeah, very happy indeed. Just letting it bed in for a week before I make it formal.

[editline]13th March 2017[/editline] Unsure if it's using a CD-ROM cable, looks like it

The cardboard box its in now is decent enough, bit id prefer something more solid. I dont really want to go through the trouble of designing something and having it 3d printed either. Just get some cheap plastic sheet and cut it to size.
Anyone know of any good pi clones that are PoE powered?
Anyone know of any good pi clones that are PoE powered?
Why not just get a real Pi and use it with a PoE adaptor?
Anyone know of any good pi clones that are PoE powered?
The Orange Pi Zero can be ran off passive PoE, you just need to bridge two points on the board with solder to enable it.
Why not just get a real Pi and use it with a PoE adaptor?
It's definitely an option but it's messier. It's going in a bit of a weird place with very little room. [editline]12th March 2017[/editline]
The Orange Pi Zero can be ran off passive PoE, you just need to bridge two points on the board with solder to enable it.
This may be perfect
Speaking of RPis, I just bought five Zero Ws on eBay for $20 a pop: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Gnv1oMN.png[/t] I guess this price isn't too bad considering Zero Ws will only ever be sold in singles for the next 20 years or so by official distributors, and they always come down to around $30/piece after shipping and taxes and etc.
Honestly raspberries are either too expensive or too underpowered every time I find a use for one.
Im in the process of getting a pi set up with retropie, and I was surprised to see that it handles most n64 games just fine
I have a raspberry Pi setup as a small always-on torrent server. Its pretty nifty
The guy who maintains the Fanboy adblock list added a rule to EasyList to block URLs with Google Analytics GET parameters in them (utm_content etc.) https://github.com/easylist/easylist/commit/0188a65381935c27114de4bf24d9e5d12ca14f10 It killed reddit right off, they serve links to comment threads with GA analytics nowadays, have been doing so far a while.
