Theorem: Cameras will never adopt a 1:1 image sensor.
Proof: No mass media format will ever adopt a square aspect ratio, therefore a camera using a sensor with such aspect ratio will never exist. QED.
That wasn't so hard now was it?
And what's the point of you pasting that wall of quotes here instead of just asking the question?

I don't want to live in a world where everything is a fucking vine.
Okay, I know this is 100% fake (it's that time of year again, remember?

But that has to be one of the most tedious and complex jokes I've seen yet. That must of taken months to fab the board and [del]source enough parts to slap on it and make it look like the real deal.[/del] (I never saw the thumbnail for the video. You can see the components look oddly 2D now.)

For context and so you don't have to dig through for the posts in that thread? Whatever. It was probably a wasted effort.

No you're just jealous because you can't get one for your collection.

Wait, does it really eat 2 PCI slots?

One PCI slot AND an AGP slot. That miniDIN plug is also stereo out. I can connect to a CRT and either use my ELSA wireless shutter glasses or Leica shutter panel to generate a stereo effect while still getting

Pixiv Booth is weird for music downloads, if you download the whole album in a zip it actually downloads each song individually then zips it up client side. Good for their storage space, and for download speeds but they could have put a progress indicator instead of just a spinner. I tried different browsers before realising it was actually doing something and not waiting forever for a link to generate.

Ok but I want that as a flashdrive tho.
Get a 3D printing place to make case from SLA and put the internals from a USB stick in it.
Hurray I just got home from work, nothing like clocking 18 hours on Friday. Even lunch was actually a 2 hour presentation from our core services guy about our new monitoring software

Yeah good luck achieving that degree of detail with consumer 3D printing

That's cool and all but if I was making my own USB stick, I'd make it something cooler and unique like a videogame prop. I remember wanting Alyx' little hacking tool as an MP3 player back in the day.
I like merch. Especially merch that's directly related to the company's products. Last time I was at a hand tool factory they had pens with screwdriver handles as the body, I thought that was really neat.
[sp]and seriously they could call up Matchbox and have them made out of diecast metal, it'd be baller[/sp]
You could always get a partition signed and send it to them.

You realize companies that offers extremely fine 3D printing services still charges unaffordable prices of several tens of dollars per square cm right?
:speechless:
3D printing in general is only good for rough prototyping. Wanting to achieve a fine level of details you'd get from proper mold casts costs a fortune no matter what route you go.
You didn't mention that in your original point because...? Anyway, how much would it cost anyway?
Because professional SLA printing is not "consumer 3D printing", and I felt the price factor should be implied already on that emphasis. Apologies if I didn't explicitly make that clear.
I don't have any exact quotes on these services, but professional SLA printers that can match mold castings can easily cost a quarter of a million dollars. The material used also costs somewhere around $1000 per gallon from my quick research.
These costs alone should give you a good ballpark estimate on what to expect if you want something printed by one of those machines.
It wouldn't be that much as a litre is smaller than a gallon and a USB stick drive is like 10 times smaller than a litre container, so very very rough estimate = $100?. Although you're the maths expert here, so what do you think?
