At the very bottom of it automotive stuff actually made me a furry. Like every other fur I know is a gearhead who works on cars or drives interesting stuff and loves talking about them.
Linux...just makes me hate everything. I'm not computer competent enough for that and it pet-peeves the hell out of me.

From Nvidia's website:

So... no.

it was mostly sarcasm
turns out EVGA's default fan curve prioritizes quietness over thermal function

Well he hasn't exceeded the maximum GPU temperature so it's all good 👌

My first card in this computer was an EVGA 570HD and I'm pretty sure there was no point at which it would go up to 100. I made a really aggressive curve in gputweak but of course it was loud as shit. Like jeez guys just add another fan if you don't want them to spin fast.

How's OS/2 Warp treating you? I hear it's going to corner the market someday.
Last week, I repaired a PSU in one of my systems that gave me a rude awakening at 3 am with the smell of burning electronics. It took me a bit to figure out which system was having the issue, but I found the culprit emitting smoke out of the PSU vents. The system was still responsive and running so I searched elsewhere a few more times until I saw the smoke puffs.

Notice the toroidal choke on the middle left next to the mains plug and compare it to the toroidal chokes at the top of the pcb, yes it is a crispy black. When I first opened the PSU, the whole choke was glowing a dull orange. There were also a couple of failed caps, but you can't really see those since they're under stuff and sleeved in heatshrink.
Here's it repaired:

Rewinding the choke took about 4 hours spread across two days. The first bit of time was unwinding the burned and crumbly wire and measuring it to replace with an exact length of magnet wire I had on hand of the same gauge. The rewound choke was pretty close in henry value. The failed caps elsewhere on the board were replaced and the unit put back together and works fine according to a multimeter and oscilloscope.
You may wonder why I repaired it instead of replacing it - simple, there is no replacement available. This is a proprietary form factor PSU which has had a very specific MicroATX PSU shoe-horned into it.

even manually cranking it to max, it's still 80% of maximum
why the fuck is 80% not 100% then

It will retake #2 in the OS rankings, just you watch!

Except we're on the seventh gen in 2017.

At least he can nullify the Intel ME botnet with ease.

To be fair, there's not nearly as big a performance gap. Gen-7 is leagues more efficient but honestly not much higher performance, and power efficiency doesn't matter much in desktops.
I thought he was on Sandy Bridge not Core Duo?

By first generation Core he means Core i, not Core2. And he's not on Sandy, he's on Lynnfield.

i5-760 is Nehalem (Lynnfield), not Core 2.
I guess Android can't natively display img tags?

There was a pretty big leap from the first gen to the second gen, which is why Sandy Bridge was such a big deal. But at least its a true quad core. The first gens are still acceptable for modern use.

Considering submitting a url block on photobucket due to how unstable it is, they have stopped loading for me as well.
Whatever cdn they're using it keeps getting blocked or rejecting requests.
I don't mean to be rude but pentium, it might be worth setting up an alt host that you can upload to for using on FP.

Core2Quads of decent clockspeed are still surprisingly capable for general use when paired with a cheap SSD and a basic as hell GPU

Shush, I was trying to avoid being blatant.
Plus I'll likely never add a user system with albums to it because I'm a lazy fuck.

but if there's no user system, how am i supposed to buy a premium account to bribe you into changing my avatar to a 100x700 picture of yuki nagato?

Should be bannable for you to have an avatar of anything but a hedgehog

no it can
