Now even Level1Techs isn't safe from /r/AMD. I guess even the chosen ones are shills. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/659fna/double_standards_in_tech_journalism_can_you/ I thought Wendells video was fine.
So I've been trying to upload the same shit onto Google Drive, essentially ExpanDrive and NetDrive keep on crashing or stop working, so I'm going to try copying the entire folder of shit via Google Chrome and seeing how THAT goes. It seems like for ExpanDrive and NetDrive, they timeout or disconnect entirely and if I reconnect, ExpanDrive starts uploading again. I have no idea why or how but it seems like that's how it works. There was another mentioned thing to copy crap to Google Drive but I forgot what it was and it was posted some days ago.
Lenovo managed to fuck up so badly they lost the deal with NASA and now they're being replaced with HP Zbook 15s. :frown:
I did some Google-ing and found a notice telling everyone to bring in their old work Thinkpads and get it replaced by a Dell Latitude 7370 or HP EliteBook 840 G3 or "Standard Desktop".
The Lenovo computer product line deployed at HQ through the ACES contract has been deemed to be an unacceptable security risk. The HQ Chief Information Officer has requested that all ACES-managed Lenovo laptops (ThinkPads) and desktops (ThinkCentres) be removed from the HQ environment by the end of September 2016.
ACES is basically NASA's IT department. Lenovo probably dungoofed really bad.
Well that does seem to happen when companies think they can market on brand power alone.
Well that does seem to happen when companies think they can market on brand power alone.
Kinda like Canon but they are still doing very well as it seems.
Kinda like Canon but they are still doing very well as it seems.
Did something happen after the T3i?
argentina and electronics, not even once my mom's husband uses a 2012 t430 he bought last year. it was like $400.
Is it because of tariffs or whatever? Does Argentina not want multinational corporations to outcompete its own vast amount of local computer manufacturers?
Did something happen after the T3i?
Yes. Canon DSLR video got better (aka less shitty looking 1080p) with some featuring 4K video but it's not particularly good compared to the GH4/5.
So i managed to revive my dead zalman zm-ve200 SE that managed to get bricked years ago Turns out there's a utility that can reprogram it. The drive is actually a rebranded IODD2511. iirc there's a regular here who also has a bricked zalman. [editline]14th April 2017[/editline] The only kicker is that you need a 32 bit XP box to run it for some reason.
Huawei keep on being good to me. They've just released the nougat update to my phone. A $300 dollar phone that was half price yet it has specs of a 500 dollar one and gets nougat. 👌
What phone?

Biometrics are kinda shit for verification Password compromised? Change your password Fingerprint compromised? Welp fuck you I guess
Biometrics are kinda shit for verification Password compromised? Change your password Fingerprint compromised? Welp fuck you I guess
How it should be used is Password + Biometric. But nothing actually does this except for, as far as I'm aware, CopperheadOS, which is hardened and significantly internally modified Android.
and a fairly unreliable source at that, which is why should only be a single factor in a system not the whole system.
I have mine set to require pin on boot. Tbh I use Fingerprint authentication for LastPass because fuck typing in my 25 character master password with caps, lower, numbers, and symbols on mobile frequently
I have password encryption on my phone, on boot, but unlocking with password or fingerprint. If I'm going somewhere hostile, I can just wipe my fingerprints off the device and not worry about it, but otherwise I get the comfort of simply placing my finger on the back of my phone and it's unlocked.
I have mine set to require pin on boot. Tbh I use Fingerprint authentication for LastPass because fuck typing in my 25 character master password with caps, lower, numbers, and symbols on mobile frequently
My Axon 7 requires PIN on boot and AFAIK, you can't turn that off. At least, I can't find a way to.
on ebay I see a ton of broken Thinkpads for cheap. Should I grab a X240/T440 with a broken screen and fix it myself? Is that considered worth it?
I just bought a PS4, but a problem existed; I didn't know my PSN password, and I apparently was a shit and set the date of birth to something other than my own. But you can create a new account, start the password recovery process, but then you paste in the token from the other account's recovery email in place of the new account's recovery token... and then you can change the original account's password without knowing your date of birth. :v:
I do wish that a modern equivalent of the T30 had come out at some point. Aside from the fact it's pretty old now it was perfect.
