[editline]23rd April 2017[/editline] This also applies to the comment section.
I only read my tech news from news blogs can go at my own pace, and there's usually several articles a day, all within their own homepage, where they do not share a feed with any other items like the youtube subscription feed I could make my own rss aggregator but not worth the time
I think outside of the usual technology stuff (Which I have Techmoan for) I don't really have anyone who I follow for computer hardware outside LGR (And its not really current stuff). I have to admit I get a bit bored having hardware shoved in my face when my current needs are satisfied.
TastyPC is now a barbie doll.
Litterally, the only website I've used on Servo that actually looks like it works [t]https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/17-04-23_19-21-50-browser.html_-_Servo.png[/t] Facepunch loads without any images (like the banner ad on the image) Then again, 4chan works on ie7 still
So while cleaning my grandmother found some old electronics We found one of these (I took an actual photo but I didn't realize until I got home that the picture was fuzzy as hell) and about 11 tapes for it. Though we didn't have any c batteries to test to see if it works. [t]http://vintage-technics.ru/Playtape%201200/PB260318pt.JPG[/t] Also found a Sony Watchman. It works but the lack of analog tv signals makes it pointless. Still a neat find. [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/198322303447072769/305884303978397706/20170423_200156.jpg[/t]

Sure, they'd sell basically zero of them, and I'm not sure it would be legal, but it would be cool in concept.

I found someone talking about buying one for about $26.

Also, the best thing about the Watchmans are they use a flat CRT.

When looking at uncompressed disk benchmarks, does it really make that much of a difference compared to compress benchmarks? This is for NVME SSDs.
When looking at uncompressed disk benchmarks, does it really make that much of a difference compared to compress benchmarks? This is for NVME SSDs.
If your workload is video, the data is barely compressible as it's... already compressed and redundancies removed.

They're not small though, usually they're rackmount equipment. They're called "Agile Modulators." https://antiqueradio.org/HomeTVTransmitter.htm
Those make neat little grenades if you throw the tube after taking it out of the case without releasing the vacuum
Thats almost a crime against humanity on its own. Wasting such a precious tube like that...
I once saw a guy cut up an original working Atari, with all the cables and a bunch of games. Don't you tell me about crimes against humanity.

Now, if we were talking about a 5200 that would be simultaneously, historically bad but also probably for the best in a way.
Yeah, 2600's have a way to go before the demand is no longer overshadowed by the supply.
I honestly couldn't tell you the difference :v: I just remember looking it up on eBay and seeing it going for several hundred dollars
I honestly couldn't tell you the difference :v: I just remember looking it up on eBay and seeing it going for several hundred dollars
Given that it's old, and it's eBay, you probably just saw price gouging. Maybe pristine condition, in box, with a shitload of games would be that high, but a 2600 just by itself you can get for $20-50 at a goodwill. 5200's are gonna be a bit more expensive but they're kinda really shitty anyway, even a 7800 you're gonna find for under $100, likely.

It's not a broadcast system though (although I suppose you could in theory hook it up to an amplifier and antenna, but that's not the right way to do it.) I'm talking about one of these Blonder Tongues: https://www.ebay.com/itm/282380827680 They're actual broadcasting systems, but usually when hooked directly to the antenna they have a range of maybe a couple of houses.
That sounds like a good way to eventually get federal agents at your door telling you to knock it off

I know a few people who run chinese analog VHF transmitters. They are literally boxes with composite and mono in and 5w of transmission power with the output cranked down so that you get a strong signal at 75 feet. Hidden somewhere here I have a 25w transmitter capable of b/w broadcasting without too much effort but you best hope your CRTC snitches are far away from you. [editline]asda[/editline] Alright, fine. Photobucket is starting to get pretty ridiculous.
So I ended up on the github home page. [t]https://www.helifreak.club/image/20170425035237515.png[/t] Guess my autoclicker worked?
Don't you just hate it when you accidentally connect your GPU to a PHW nuclear reactor?
