Can I just say: FUCK MICROSOFT. I have three major issues with my new setup: 1. HDD clicking every few seconds > Turns out this is somehow caused by APM, only solution so far is disabling APM for all affected drives, which can't be done permanently. 2. DTS Connect and DDL don't work with Windows 10. There are about a thousand reports on it, by the looks of it, it was fixed and has come back with the Creators Update... 3. USB3 on frontpanel not working, wasn't Microsofts fault, for some reason the connector is so shitty, the plug just went in backwards with the key doing absolutely nothing.
So nothing of these things is related to microsoft? I mean only thing that really applies is 2., but you can't really blame them for not supporting some weird proprietary audio thing
If you're heading to Best Buy they'll probably have a higher end ASUS AC router. I'd get that. They'll probably have AC1750's and AC1900's. Can't go wrong with either.
Thanks, we picked up an ASUS AC1750 and it's pretty dank It's really picky about my USB drive though. Printer hooked up alright but it just doesn't want to recognize my SanDisk USB drive
So apparently VR actually requires long range vision and not close up vision which means I need to wear my glasses. My god is it uncomfortable as fuck having them squished into my nose. Genetics a shit. LASIK is looking pretty good right now.
God damn I hate group projects. We have to do surveys on our teammates. We got our feedback from our other teammates today. It was suggested that I "work on delivering on time" (despite me working on the frontend and having to wait for the guy to finish the API endpoints to deliver my deliverable) and that I "take more initiative". A quick "git shortlog -s -n" and some number crunching shows that in a team of 5 people, I made 51% of the commits singlehandedly over the last year, and I'm the person who: paid for and set up the server, set up the app on the Play Store, set up SSL on the server, paid for and set up the domain, fixed SQL relationships in the DB, fixed several critical bugs on portions of the software I am not responsible for... Then it was stated that "more than one teammate wished that you would communicate more face to face." When I was available in every class, helped out my teammates with questions, and my two teammates that did fuck all (combined 14% of the git commits over the last year) would leave early, sometimes without saying a word. So I got an 88% for team participation despite doing the vast majority of the work! And somehow I need to show more initiative. :why:
God damn I hate group projects.
I've solo carried a term project of 5 members once. I literally did 100% of the work, and even had to write scripts for the other team members so they'll have something to say for the presentations. If you feel like the teamwork was unequal, talk to your prof afterwards.
God damn I hate group projects.
I just thank god university will be done soon.. no more group projects until I end up in industry where I'll work on more projects in a group.

I had to do a 20-minute presentation a couple of weeks ago with three other people on Social Media. We were all to present our work. Everyone had about two-three slides when I ended up with seven, all with interesting facts and I was the most outgoing presenter. I despise group projects. I hope it gets better in the work force.
I just thank god university will be done soon.. no more group projects until I end up in industry where I'll work on more projects in a group.
The difference being those people who don't pull their weight will hopefully get fired! You don't have that luxury with a year-long school project, even when you tell the teacher "hey this person has made 7 total git commits within a year."
You know you got justice when you're the only one talking during the presentation because you did all of the work and the rest of the group is just standing there doing and saying nothing. Then the prof asks the other group members some questions and they don't know shit because they did jack shit nothing and you get all the marks while they fail.

It's MySQL and no JSON is ever stored.
God damn I hate group projects.
Gotta love it when you spend the first "productive" sessions with the group arguing which is the better chat client (Slack, Discord, Facebook Messenger, etc.) to use for this group. It was terrible.

Printer drivers have the tackiest looking UIs I swear
I had my first competent group for this semester's project. We had short, rare meetings. Everyone did their work and we were finished with each delivery in good time. While i still had to do the most work, it wasn't significantly more than the next people, and i wasn't forced to. This is in stark contrast to my best uni friend who had to do nearly the entire project, report and movie on his own :v: Being finished with the project makes me a bit sad, because i know i won't find a unicorn like this for a long time if i don't get the chance to make my own group including my friend.
I dunno what you guys are talking about, whenever I had group projects I just let everyone else do all the work. Easier that way.
I had a group project once in college. The class was on project and time management, so the teacher said most of the grade would be determined by your peer reviews, not by the actual work. As always happens, nobody else did anything - one member actually didn't even attend class except for the first and last days. The teacher forgot to give us review forms, and just passed everyone.
My lab partner dropped out just before our 45 hour design exercise, so I had a fun easter doing it all by myself. That said, the difference between me and most other lab partnerships is I don't have to also explain it to the other person :v:

I tried the new flat YouTube layout with the dark theme that you can toggle. JKL which is used for playback only works if you have the player in focus, not the tab like it used to. Gross.
So nothing of these things is related to microsoft? I mean only thing that really applies is 2., but you can't really blame them for not supporting some weird proprietary audio thing
The first two are Microsofts fault, APM wasn't a problem on Windows 7 either.
Oh Tavis, you weren't kidding: You can get a virus via...a file exploiting a vulnerability in Windows Defender's virus scanner. You know, the doomsday scenario AV detractors always bring up. So, just found out when you click the "Check for updates" button in MSE, it brings you to this way over the top complicated overly designed page
Wow our new router has signal that reaches 7 houses down from us. That's a good change from the previous "I get 1 bar in the office adjecent to the router room"
uh that seems very utopian Are your balls fine?
It's a router/birth control 2 in 1 combo [editline]9th May 2017[/editline] My father just told me he had a surprise for me in the back of his truck. It was a really nice black Dell CRT monitor. He knows what's up
