Can MS just stop coming up with new design languages every year and a half? I'd like for things to be consistent. It's really not anymore. It's such a mess and no doubt this will make things messier.
if it's anything like Google's Material Design spec, it'll never amount to much and they'll start ignoring any standards they set within a few years [editline]12th May 2017[/editline] I miss aero TBH, that shit was consistent and blended well with legacy UI
I've said it once and I'll say it again, Windows 7 was the pinnacle of non-minimalist Windows UIs.
Considering they even use a guide I made for their HD60 Pro, and send it to customers to help them. I'm an ideal candidate.
I'm still jealous that they practically gave you that thing.
I'm still jealous that they practically gave you that thing.
then you'll be jealous they sent me the HD60S last year too I did a 25minute video review, but never finished filming the BRoll. SO it sits in my timeline. Like 30hours of work on that.
I will probably forever use Windows 7 at work, mainly because it's on the broadcast computers, they all run Windows 7 and they run 24/7. Literally no incentive to upgrade to Windows 8 or 10 and downtime means people at home don't get to watch their TV channels.
Okay, fuck this, had enough of Microsoft's shit. Installing Arch Linux on my laptop :excited:
Pretty sure the have emergency helplines to prevent drastic actions like this.
What, the fact that I am installing Linux, or the fact I am installing Arch Linux specifically? I have done both before.

Bought myself a soldering iron, waiting on an actual kit to use but should be fun once it arrives. Unit itself is surprisingly small and most desks should be able to accommodate one. Hopefully I eventually get to do this. [t]http://i.imgur.com/rxKxZNt.png[/t] Source
Creators update install take 2: Windows Update edition. Not terribly confident it will work. [editline]13th May 2017[/editline] Actually worked, what the fuck. [editline]13th May 2017[/editline] Not a fan of how they deleted my registry keys for drive icons or just removed the old UAC prompt for this ugly as fuck metro disaster.
i'll believe it when i see it. reddit are the masters of PRspeak, i have no doubt that this is going to be one of those "we'll do it as soon as we can" things that when it finally arrives its gimped
There are quite a few security vulnerabilities in just giving arbitrary CSS access, and some drafts are going to make those even more serious. I guess its already somewhat limited right now? ... They'll probably overcompensate if they get the chance.
read: this is not important to us dont be naive kids
It's funny that the most used part is the least prioritized one. As you said, PR speak for "we don't care about it"

OK Sippers. I need a good, stable, powered USB2 hub. Is it worth going branded, or are they just gonna be the same internals as as cheap Chinese one anyway? I want to avoid the backfeed issues that plague some cheap hubs as I care about my gear.
I want to avoid the backfeed issues that plague some cheap hubs as I care about my gear.
Even some otherwise quality ones have that issue, but if you're only gonna use it with a power adapter and don't mind voiding warranty, then open it up and locate the +5volt trace from Host USB port and cut it.
Wow, somehow managed to get Arch Linux installed on this laptop mostly without a hitch :toot:

I think I'll just go un-powered, I only plan to run input devices from the hub anyway.
Not a fan of how they deleted my registry keys for drive icons or just removed the old UAC prompt for this ugly as fuck metro disaster.
My icons are still in tact, alternatively, through an autorun.inf into your drives
What, the fact that I am installing Linux, or the fact I am installing Arch Linux specifically? Thank you random chinese IP that tried to connect to my machine on port 445. Reminded me to disable SMB1 again.
Thank you Costco for letting me buy a hard drive for $10 less than everywhere else in the area
Thank you Costco for letting me buy a hard drive for $10 less than everywhere else in the area
no problem
My icons are still in tact, alternatively, through an autorun.inf into your drives
I recall something was blocking autorun.inf files from working last time I tried. I had backed up the keys so I just imported them again.
