Dom tell your friends to leave me alone! First of all the paint thing was a joke. Secondly i'd prefer to have a Mac book pro than a windows laptops. That's my opinion, the reason I came to this section was to get away from the Windows fan boys and get a real opinion on which I should get rather than "Don't get it dickhead" [editline]27th October 2011[/editline] If you are all so against Macs. What the hell are you doing in this section? Not everyone shares your opinion.
Oh, wow.
Because people don't need to waste money on a computer based on needs that could be fulfilled on something cheaper.
Let us 'waste money' in peace. (and not to continue hijacking the thread or anything, as someone who works with ALL operating systems, OSX is much cleaner, simpler, and provides better workflow out of the box, period.) Build yourself a hackintosh if you don't believe me. I guarantee you wont boot into windows unless you have to within a month.

I've got nothing against OSX itself - It's a great OS. It's just that the computers that Apple sell have the price jacked up 2x or even 3x just because of the brand name.
I'd go with the 15 inch 2.2 GHz. I mean the battery power is the same, but I mean do you really need 750GB? 500 is well over enough, at least for me it is.
Well, it is fact, sorrys. They are literally trying to keep up. Besides, why are you guys even in this thread which is comparing three non-PC laptops. Let alone this whole damn forum...? You guys come here spouting opinions not asked for in nearly every thread, then have a problem when people defend another side (the side the forum was meant for). Go to the windows forum and pretend all you want... You wont find me there, promise.
Damn, who the fuck led you out of the cage? It's a forum, it's meant to contain a lot of different opinions. I'm not trying to troll or get the OP to buy a Windows based laptop, 'cause he seems to want a Mac, but damn you make it hard not to spout the generalization that Mac users are dumb and blind. Most people in here - on both "sides" if you want to call it that - are pretty reasonable, and I wouldn't have a problem with you coming into the PC building sub-forum and recommend a Mac, if the description fits on the thing. We are in this forum because you only get good advice if you see more than one view on the case. I really don't see your problem, we haven't come in here stating "windurs better lol lol" because we are pretty reasonable people - we know that other people's opinions may differ from ours, and thus we (or, at least most of us) try to give an objective view on the case (better specced for the same money, sometimes better quality (depends largely on the laptop you buy, of course) and that alike), and in any other case you'll see me use "in my opinion" and that alike. Is that so hard for you to do? It's simple precautions that will probably stop in any flame war before it starts, and OP mentioned that he likes Windows and Mac OSX equally well (and in his posts it seems like he uses it) so where is the problem with recommending a Windows based laptop? I really don't see it, and I pretty much get to the conclusion that you're one of the obnoxious fanboys that comes into the Apple section once in a while to give an uneducated and totally subjective view on the case. Just my 2 cents. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline]
I'd go with the 15 inch 2.2 GHz. I would probably replace the RAM myself, though, as Apple tends to charge out the ass for RAM for some reason.
Fuck me can a mod please close this thread. I already know the one i'm getting and I stupidly assumed that posting in a section specifically for Apple would not start a flame war over which is better.

It was a civilised discussion. Then tinos came in and assumed we were bashing Apple products / OSX when we were simply saying that you can do everything a Mac can do with a Windows computer and usually for cheaper too.

Okay 13-inch, best one out of all of them in terms of editing power. (Get a windows laptop, install OSX on a different partition hint hint) [editline]27th October 2011[/editline]
Not nearly as nice, but yes they try (to keep up).
You just said the opposite, get out.
(I JUST WANT A MAC BECAUSE THEY'RE SUPERIOR).
At no point in this thread have I said anything along those lines. In fact I even said I like them both equally, only this case I want a Mac. Not everyone who likes them thinks they are superior beings with more advanced computing skills, they are still good computers. You guys are just so fucking opinionated you can't comprehend other peoples views of things.

Darcy, what I'm saying is, you can buy a $1,600 13" macbook or you can buy an equivalent $900 windows laptop and simply install OSX on it. You'll get the 'best' of both and you'll save 700 dollars in the process. If you're against doing this, then you're only buying it for the brand name. Which is stupid.

Everybody fuck off and get back to recommending him a MBP, and what he should buy for it. Tinos started this, but you're keeping the ball rolling.
He settled on a MacBook and as much of an unwise decision it may be in your eyes, it's still his choice and it's still a good machine. Settle down peeps.
Go for one of the lower end 15" models. I have one of the older 15" models with the 6750 and it runs Battlefield 3 just fine on decent settings. There's no real need for the higher end model unless you want a gaming laptop, in which case you might as well get an Alienware or something.
Well i've already chosen to get the 13" No one needs to post on here anymore.
Really, this have nothing to do with Windows or Mac - get a 15". You're gonna like that extra screen estate.
Well i've already chosen to get the 13"
There is also the MiniDVI port, if you find some projects need extra screen space, works nice. I only use it when I run Reason (music application) since it uses a lot of screen space, and I'm usually running a few other applications at the same time. I don't think I'd run reason without two screens on any sized monitor, though.
Well i've already chosen to get the 13" No one needs to post on here anymore.
If your going to give yourself that little screen real estate. Go and get an iPad while you're at it!
The 13" is perfect for travelling around with and i have not encountered any problems with the screen size even if i did you can create multiple desktops so...
