Lolwhat? I'm kinda looking for a something a little more rectangular so it fits my gaming environment a little better :D
Yeah, pretty many responds so, but it looks great on the top of a desk.. In my opinion:
This picture is pretty old, so I got a new desk and mouse, but whatever..
Hey you have a logitech wave :D
And you're right, it doesn't look too bad, but I don't think there's enough room for it on my desk, what are it's dimensions?
Depth (without front panel) : 348mm / Depth (with front panel) : 380mm
Width : 295mm
Top half : 103mm
In regards to HDDs, does it really matter if I get something other than a 1TB Western Digital that uses SATA3? Won't using SATA3 prolong my computers life (in the sense that I won't be left behind in technology... much)?
Western digital are good for having drives that dont fail
I like the sound of the ATI HD5830 but deep down inside I'm an NVidia man... :( What are the real benefits of using the HD5830 over the Gigabyte GTX260+ SOC? besides a small addition of GDDR5?
DirectX 11 on the 5830
As for the mobo, I'm not really sure what to go with, are there specific brands I should use/avoid? Generally I just chose a motherboard that fits my parts.
Stay away from asrocks cheaper boards, but Asus, gigabyte and MSI are very good
What are the advantages of the Liteon disk drive over the Samsung drive I chose?
The Liteon one is cheaper
A decorative case is a MUST... It'll increase the size of my penis amongst my LAN peers, as we all know. So I chose the Inwin B2 ATX case with the 600W PSU, does that really matter much? (Other than the fact 600W is a bit over the top for my specs?)
The Inwin power supplys arent too great, as you can see here they have a large ripple, meaning cheaper components which dont regulate the voltage as well http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/in_win_com_850w/5.htm
And last but not least, should I bother installing an additional network card for LAN cables? or is there some kind of adapter I can get should I ever need it?
The network card will be needed if you want WiFi, otherwise the motherboard has a gigabit lan port built into it
Thanks for that GoDong-DK, I'm capped so it would have taken me all night to view it, where as facepunch is already cached :D
Bladerunner1, you're a legend... thanks heaps. I'll look into changing the Graphics card and the disk drive, but It's hard to say I don't want that case. Would I be able to remove the PSU and sell it here at a later date perhaps? and then install say a thermal take 550W/600W?
