So I see that most people still seem biased towards Logitech... You know, Steelseries, Razer, and Microsoft have a lot of mice that are also great, and in my opinion better than anything Logitech has to offer (apart from the G400). It's like Logitech has found this niche, gamers who want serious-business gear and none of the frilly stuff that Razer and Steelseries seem to offer (or so they believe), when in fact Logitech are the ones that offer pointless weighting systems to their mice and retain sensor issues in their laser mice. They believe that Razer is in the same state as Alienware, producing overpriced, ricey junk (to which I would reply, take a look at the Razer Deathadder or Razer Abyssus). And I'm not anti-Logitech, I've owned two G5s and one G500, I just believe they receive too much undeserved praise. [editline]10th July 2012[/editline] I recommend the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1, Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, Logitech G400, or the Razer Abyssus. Out of those, the WMO and Abyssus and probably better suited for fingertip grip though. All the mice above have excellent sensors though and are relatively lightweight. Although the Abyssus sensor may have a few issues with certain surfaces, when it's working properly it is great.
I agree with most of what you said but I have yet to find a wireless mouse I liked as much as the G700, wish it only had two side buttons though four is a bit excessive and gets difficult to use accurately.

I don't have very big hands, and judging from reviews it looks pretty good.
I have a plastic mouse pad, also is anything wrong with the coolermaster one I linked? So my HP mouse that came with my computer is pretty much dead, the left and right click buttons are becoming weak and the scroll wheel is more or less broken because when I scroll up or down all it does is dance around the page. I want something durable yet not too expensive, be wired, laser, looks nice, and doesn't have too many fancy macro buttons on it (acceptable but not required). One or two is fine, but mostly I just require a left click, a right click and a scroll wheel (preferably one that also acts as a button like most do). I'm looking at the Razer Abyssus that was linked in the OP and it looks really nice. I live in the US. I vary from palm grip to fingertip grip. May I have some suggestions?

As I said above, I recommend the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1, Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, Logitech G400, or the Razer Abyssus. But keep in mind that the Abyssus sensor may get some jitter if the surface isn't right, so when I got mine I picked up a new mousepad as well. It's a great mouse if the sensor has a good surface to work with though, one of my favorites.
Price range?
Nothing above $80. Still looking at the Abyussus, it looks really good for what I want... I might go with that. I have a good mouse pad.
I love my Deathadder, it's the only kind of mouse I use. Anything else on my hand just feels weird.
I love my Deathadder, it's the only kind of mouse I use. Anything else on my hand just feels weird.
That's the same for every "gaming" mouse after you have gotten used to it. Unless you find a different mouse that is identical in shape/size for some reason.

[editline]12th July 2012[/editline] (Amazon) [editline]12th July 2012[/editline] Maybe it's 1ms response time will make up for my monitors' 16. :suicide:
Logitech makes great stuff, and has awesome customer service. G700 is probably the best wireless gaming mouse available excluding the higher tier logitech mice.
They're fucking fantastic. I spoke to them after my MX 518's scroll wheel messed up, and even though the warranty was out (they'd give me a new one free if it wasnt), they gave me a 50% discount on a G400. And now, i contacted them about my 7 year old MOMO wheel, and even though it hasn't had warranty for 5, they gave me 50% off either the DFGT or G27. I'm probably going for the G27, for 150 euros it's the bargain of the fucking decade
So I find my G9x too small for my hand, or at least I don't know what to do with my pinky and such. #PCGamerProblems Anyone else have this issue?
So I find my G9x too small for my hand, or at least I don't know what to do with my pinky and such. #PCGamerProblems Anyone else have this issue?
Develop a claw grip or buy a new mouse.
Develop a claw grip or buy a new mouse.
are those RATS good?
Don't know I have never wanted/tried one they are ugly.
So I find my G9x too small for my hand, or at least I don't know what to do with my pinky and such. #PCGamerProblems Anyone else have this issue?
I've always let my thumb and rightmost two fingers drag along the mat - for very high sensitivity (I never lift or move my wrist) and hard mats it works wonders for control and accuracy.
I've always let my thumb and rightmost two fingers drag along the mat - for very high sensitivity (I never lift or move my wrist) and hard mats it works wonders for control and accuracy.
If there is one thing i noticed through going from a Razer Destructor hard surface to a QCK, it's that the QCK has a tid bit more resistance on the initial movement, which favors my hybrid palm/claw grip with medium-ish sensitivity
Well my mouse is officially fucked, I have to press the right click down really hard for it to work, otherwise it'll only work 20% of the time, if I hold it down, it keeps going on and off, which makes it impossible to do things like looking through ironsights in an FPS. I have no idea how to open a G500 up so I can't even try to fix it.

So, I had some strange Logitech wireless mouse that I hated, and decided to buy a RAT 7 when it came out as it got good reviews. Personally, I found that it was not the best mouse around, and didn't like it so much. I tried it for a few months but just couldn't get used to it no matter what I tried. I decided to sell it and get a Xai, and haven't looked back. The Steelseries Xai is REALLY good, and I liked it right when I tried it.
Tell Logitech, they'll probably send you a new one and then give you a few hundred dollars as an apology.
I don't think they would after I have tried to take it apart (sucessfully, and there's no dirt, no damage, the switch just doesn't work properly), and I've had it for over a year now
That's because the Xai is an amazing mouse.
It really is.

They really don't care when your warranty expired, so it's worth a shot
Is it absolutely obvious that you took it apart? They really don't care when your warranty expired, so it's worth a shot
Incredibly obvious, they have made it so you can't take it apart without making it obvious you have.
Incredibly obvious, they have made it so you can't take it apart without making it obvious you have.
You can still try it, from what I've heard, they often send you a new one and don't even try to collect the old one.
So, I have around $90 to spend, and I am interested in a new mouse. From what I have been looking at I am thinking either a nice logitech g500 or g9x, but if I was to buy the g700 could I just use that as a straight up wireless mouse? The g700 looks really really nice, but I have no use for wireless capability and I would much prefer a wired mouse.

Still the cable works flawlessly.

Steelseries, Microsoft, and Razer have plenty of mice that are great. Here are some recommendations that I believe are better than most mice Logitech has to offer apart from the Logitech G400: Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Razer Deathadder Razer Abyssus Steelseries Sensei/Xai (Has acceleration issues, I put it over G500 or G9x though due to low weight and preferable ergonomics) (P.S. Logitech Laser sensors have acceleration issues that can't be fixed through software)
