its not a prebuilt at all
and the powersupply box is outside in the cold so i dont feel like checking it atm
is the 750 that bad?
and will i be bottlenecked by 8gb of ram
8 gb seems perfect for me atm
so what is bottlenecking what
is my cpu the problem or is it my gpu
and i still dont understand the ram thing
it doesnt seem like i ever get up to 8gb
its funny
i thought the cpu was my main bottleneck all this time
you think the gpu is affecting my csgo performance?
i use a low res with minimum settings but still get spikes to like 20 fps
this is all so confusing
am i doing something wrong maybe
[editline]11th December 2015[/editline]
so is there a way to get better performance (like in csgo) with my cpu
is there maybe something i can do for it
and as for the gpu, will it be bottlenecked by my cpu
and just throwing it out there, my psu is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
could my motherboard be fucking with my cpu
could the cpu need additional, non-stock cooling
if others get good fps in csgo using an fx 6300 then its probably me
i think ill get the graphics card then if thats what it needs
could you install amd overdrive and use prime95 to show your actual load temps just to make sure you're not overheating
speccy overreports amd temps for my system and says I idle at 70C too
also that system shouldn't even really have a problem with most modern games but the gpu / possibly even hard drives seems like the weak point
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
i mean i ran csgo with a x2 340 (about as fast as a snail towing a bag of fishing weights) + r9 270 at acceptable framerates so i dont think its the cpu unless it's overheating to fuk
considering i have no problems with higher end settings in games with a worse cpu (x4 860k), same amount of ram but a better gpu and hard drive (ssd), those would probably be a good focus instead of tearing out half the system
thx for the help kiwi

using amd overdrive and prime95, i never went below a thermal margin of 5 celsius
i imagine thats cool
idk whats wrong with my shit tbh

i did notice the frequency likes to jump down to ~1400 MHz from 3500 MHz
[editline]12th December 2015[/editline]
so i guess my cpu is overheating when at full load, causing it to throttle itself to not overheat
thanks for the all the info and stuff

Haha I know. Can you recommend a better one for that price. My friend is on a low budget.
For future reference, if I wanted something a little higher end, would the 4790k give a significant performance impact over the 4690k?
If you're running a billion things at one time, probably. If strictly for gaming, no.
Both the AMD 390 or the Nvidia 970 are around the same price range but the 390 has 8GB of video ram. Why should i pick that above the Nvidia 970? (Since, i've not used an AMD product yet.)
Buying the 390 would mean i'd have to buy a different power supply such as the EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply since that raises up the wattage to 491W.
I've changed a few things, apparently Corsair has some reliablity issues and i followed through with the storage changes. But i think the main thing is deciding on the 390 or the 970. It would future proof the system, i know that much.
V2 - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/PDsmXL
Get the 390, its supposed to get big performance improvements when direct x 12 games hit.
The advantages of the 970 are less power usage and acces to nvidia bullshit like nvidia hairworks and sbao. They work but are scummy because they seem specifically designed to hamper AMD
I've made a few minor modifications to my build, since I've just learned I'm getting a bigger student loan refund than I had anticipated.

So, couple of questions about that:
What parts can be swapped out for better, cheaper equivalents?
Is it a reasonable thing to get a 980 now, get a 970 now and wait until the next generation of cards, or keep my 560Ti and wait until the next generation of cards?
Are there any major flaws you see? (The i7 isn't one of them.)
980 is going to last you awhile tbh. I doubt Nvidia next gen cards will boast much improvement than the 980 or the ti

This advice might be changing in the future though, as newer games take advantage of more cores, I know Fallout 4 has, with a difference of 15-20%
So, keep an eye out, even if there's not enough to justify an upgrade yet
So, I'm looking to update my graphics card. Everything else seems decent, and the card itself is okay, it's just aged a bit. Budget is anywhere from $500-700, though if I can get it for cheap, I will. I don't know my PSU but I can check in a day or two. Specifically I'm looking to record game footage, but having all the specs at the highest isn't too important to me.
My specs are:

I would use it for gaming and some video editing maybe.
I live in Finland and i believe if order parts from http://www.mindfactory.de/ (Germany duh) i could get them cheaper. I know im a bit lazy but i have no idea what parts to buy to make it money worth.

should i go haswell and dump a lot of money into my gpu or no
pure gaming machine btw
Skylake processor pricing is a bit fucked right now. I'm guessing supply issues. If you want to buy right now I'd go haswell. If you can wait and see if supply catches up than do that if you want.
Imo if you have the money going skylake is a good idea. But I wouldn't know if a Skylake i5 is better than a Haswell i7.
The R9 390 is perfectly fine for all current games, and DDR4 ram might give a nice boost in DX12 titles.
Imo that looks like a pretty good build.
It is better, but the difference is very small and haswell equipment can be found much cheaper.
A Haswell i7 should easily last you well past a Skylake i5 ever could. Remember, CPU iterations often offer only insignificant improvements in general performance. Whether you really need that extra performance from the i7 is up to you, however.
when i said dump a load of money into the gpu i meant do something like this
