Right, i've done some fuckery with the build and after speaking to certain people in my group, i've decided to scavenge my GTX 660 and continue using that on this new build just for the time being, until i get the money to buy a 970 and i'm fairly sure i can survive without the SSD for the time being. I've figured out that the 970 is slightly longer than the 660 there won't be any issues with fitting the thing.
With holding back on the 970, i can concentrate on buying the I7 Skylake and future proofing myself... plus it makes negotiating this bloody thing more easier.

Is there anything in this build that i need to be alerted about or is everything in order?
Go with this PSU instead.

Is there anyone who has experience removing a GPU from this kind of clip? I've tried a couple of different ways of lifting the card while applying force onto it. I'd like to not have to resort to breaking it off.

The mobo is this one http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16813128846
So I want to use my old motherboard to set up as a server, and therefore I'll have to get a ATX case for it yet. There's one problem however: I'll have to fit it under my bed, so the width of the case must not be larger than 16cm.
Do you guys know a case by any chance that meets this criteria? If it's not an option I could look for a FM2 motherboard with uATX or MINI-ITX format.

Try to find a 3u rackmount case. There are many random brands and such so unless you give me some sites to order from in your area that's all I can give you.
Got a new 1440p monitor for xmas. It's fantastic! My only small gripe is there's a bit much backlight bleed on the screen. It's nothing huge but is there any way to reduce it?

Increase/decrease brightness.
If you're feeling adventurous you could do something like the section under fixes for the Qnix monitors
http://www.overclock.net/t/1384767/official-the-qnix-x-star-1440p-monitor-club
(CPU at 14C with 212 EVO because why not)
This is my current build. I don't know what I should upgrade. But mainly I'm feeling like the CPU is lacking slightly, and maybe some more ram wouldn't hurt. And eventually GPU should get replaced but I'm waiting out for that.
Although I'm also thinking of going for a i5 6600K/i7 5820K/i7 6700K. But the question is would I ever actually notice any difference between them? I don't think the 5820K is worth it at all. All benchmarks etc say the 6700K beats it massively. Or do I just get a FX 9590?
If I have my facts right they(Intel) all use the same socket. That would also mean I would need to get DDR4 RAM. I've also heard talks of some motherboards supporting both DDR4 and DDR3 RAM. However I'm guessing this would bump the prices up a lot.
Or should I wait to see how the new AMD series is? Or save my money and completely rebuild my system in a few years?

I got the acer.
[editline]25th December 2015[/editline]
I turned the brightness down from 80 to 50 and it made it better.
I mean the backlight bleed could be caused by the same thing, hence the same fix.

The FX-9590 is pretty much an out of the box overclocked FX-8350. If you had better cooling then an 212 EVO, your FX-8350 should be able to reach comparable clock-speeds, although 4.5ghz or so should still be doable if you bother to overclock your CPU in your current setup.
i5 6600k/i7 6700k are Skylake and are on the new consumer socket (like 2-3 months old), i7 5820K is a 6 core, and is on a server socket.
There is no meaningful performance difference in 4 vs 6 cores in those CPUs for gaming.
The reason why i7 5820K is actually negative in benchmarks, is because its stock CPU speed is lower then the 6700k/6600k, and single-core performance is what you really want in pretty much any game right now.
You can download the drivers of modern graphics cards online, right? Because that's the last thing for me to do and the usb dvd drive I got doesn't want to work for some reason.
Nixeus Vue 24" or BenQ XL2411Z? Both $300 Canadian so keep this in mind. Also, whats the difference between NX-VUE24A and NX-VUE24B?
[editline]25th December 2015[/editline]
Also I don't have a AMD card right now, can I still use the monitor at 144hz? (without freesync of course)
So I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, and I have a few questions.
Currently, my setup is the MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) motherboard and the AMD FX-4170 processor.
So what would be a good replacement for it?
After doing more looking around it does seem highly likely it's the motherboard's temp sensors crapping out on me. So... I'm absolutely terrible at finding replacement motherboards, can someone give me a hand in finding a new one?

You can use it just fine. Freesync is a completely free implementation so there's no reason not to implement it.

Windows 7 and up will probably try to install one though windows update, if you just give it a chance to run.
However:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

It should be pretty straight forward to do manually.

the only difference between the a and b is the stand, and yes you can use the nixeus vue at 144hz without an amd card
as for it vs the benq i cant tell you, i dont have any personal experience with them

It's already at 4.45GHz, and still feels somewhat lacking. Temperature isn't an issue, it only gets to about 80C. It's just the stability.
Would a 6600K be a noticeable difference compared to what I currently have? And would the 6700K be an even better choice? Or should I spend the price difference on extra ram?
http://puu.sh/m8CAV/b6581cb3ef.png
This is what CPU-Z benchmarks have to say.
In an attempt to fix my USB disk drive trouble, I accidentally disabled the USB sockets on my motherboard. I am now convinced PC gaming is a myth.

I happened to run into this: http://www.technologyx.com/featured/amd-vs-intel-our-8-core-cpu-gaming-performance-showdown/3/
The real answer is "It depends", If your most played games are ARMA, GTAV and SC2 there might be al ot of value in the CPU upgrade. For other games probably not as much. I think that specific benchmark lines it out pretty well.

Can you check your Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controllers section and look for something like "Host Controller"? I literally went through an issue with updating it's drivers (due to the whole RAM usage issue) where I had to use the Windows Restore feature to get my USB hub working. Find the newest drivers for it and update, that fixed it for me in the end.

Well I can't now my usb keyboard and mouse aren't talking to the PC anymore.
Hey guys, I was wondering if you knew of any 5.25 drive bay volume controllers? I know there's a fancy motherboard controller but that only works with specific asus ones.
I've tried searching for others but they all seem to be discontinued products (Antec veris range). I might be searching the wrong terms though.
edit: any cool 5.25 accessories would be neat actually (already have fan controller)
Alright, choose me a board

Yes it's bottlenecked but I'll deal with it until more money comes
ever since locked skylake over clocking became a thing i really wonder if its just worth for you to get a z170 board and overclock the i3...

Pretty sure Asrock is enabling over clocking on locked chips on their h170 boards.
Yeah that's right.

Safe mode.
You freak out easy. Calm down. It's a computer, few things short of taking a wrench to the motherboard can really screw it up entirely.
So i just finished building my computer and something's not right.
Turning on the power supply does nothing, nothing lights up, no fans spin. Pressing the front power button makes the optical drive and HDD spin, along with a quiet whirring from the PSU, and the power button's light turns on, but nothing else happens.
I'm going to check the cables again tomorrow, but does anyone know if it's something else? A faulty PSU? A busted motherboard?
