Bought it from NewEgg. Guess I'll have to at this point.
Shit happens. I've gotten DOA Intel, gigabyte, EVGA, ASUS, MSI, WD, Seagate, pretty much every manufacturer.
So I've gone and drawn up the basis for a new rig my Budget is about about £1200 PCPartpicker list here Breakdown CPU: Intel i7-5820K £300.99 Mobo: Asus X99 A £197.96 RAM: HyperX Fury Black Series 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)2133 MHz DDR4 SSD: Samsung 2.5-Inch 250 GB 850 EVO Solid State Drive (For OS and whatever long laodtime game I dicide tow hack on there) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB GPU: MSI NVIDIA GTX 980 (4GB, PCI Express, 256 Bit) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler I've already got everything else I need, my monitor setup is fine and my case is this beastie right here and I have a 450 watt corsair PSU... sure it's not modular but nothing a few cable tidies cannot fix. I'm hoping this new rig will run the likes of JC3, Xcom2 and GTA:V looking all shiny and sparkly with a solid framerate. Any pitfalls I should be aware of? Anything I might have missed? Any recommendations you have that I could swap out? perhaps squeeze a few extra frames or save a few extra pennies? Otherwise this is looking good to go.
I was hearing rumours about nVidia throwing out a new top end card this year, is buying at 980ti at this point a decent investment, or is it better to wait y'all think?

Not a very good power supply, especially for a high performance rig like that. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650xxxb9 [editline]9th January 2016[/editline] Fuck off kiwi pcpartpicker on mobile is hard.

The price actually isn't too bad for a prebuilt

Only 1 front-panel USB 3.0 port, no thanks.
Did they put an infinity mirror on the front of that case? Because that's actually a really neat effect.
I never use front panel ports. Opted not to have any even on this case. A hub on your desk below the monitor is 100x better.

The GQ line is the same manufacturer as their old crappy ones, but it looks like they put a really nice FSP unit in them. Good on them. If you can find an EVGA GS 550 or 650 for cheaper, get it. Stay away from the G2 series in that case because they're a little longer than average. Makes it difficult in an ITX build.
Is it just me, or are front panel ports really flimsy most of the time?
One of my three front USB ports died after ~4 years. Still does power fine but data is fucked up somewhere and Windows detects it as a constantly failing USB device.

It is the only component that can take out every single component in your computer in a bad failure.
Yeah I've had it happen to me and my best friend had it happen to him. Just blew up one night when we were sleeping, sounded like fireworks. Coincidentally we are the only two people I know in real life who've built a computer for themselves. We also used cheap Chinese PSUs, making that 2/2. So with this computer I spent far more and got a nice name brand PSU (Antec 520 hcgm), and it has served me exceedingly well. The idea is you don't want to replace this stuff any time soon and only a nice PSU will stand up to years of high utilization.

What's she lackin? What's unneccessary/not there but should be/blah blah blah? Im trying to get a nice gaming rig goin. If theres any reasonable priced improvements (ie 10$ for something better) then any suggestions are welcome. Complete novice. Budget of ~1400/1500$ MAX, pref less. Will be built over the course of a couple months so price isnt TOO big of a deal.
Even with the coupon code you're spending nearly the same amount on a case as you are on your GPU, which is a bit insane. You don't need 16GB of RAM with a 4460 and a 750 Ti for gaming. You have a motherboard that can overclock with a non-overclockable CPU. You have a (kind of expensive) CPU fan despite the fact you can't overclock the CPU. The stock one is fine unless you're worried about noise, but that case has 4 fans so I assume not? For how much money you're spending, even if it's in Canada, you really should get something better than a 750 Ti. 4GB GTX 960/R9 380 or higher preferably.
