So my GTX760 just really isn't doing it for me, suggestions?
What resolution are you playing at?
What resolution are you playing at?
1080p though I want a new 1440p monitor in the near future
1080p though I want a new 1440p monitor in the near future
If you're going to go 1440p, I'd grab an r9 290x. I was originally going to grab a 970, but after looking at the benchmarks the 290x has a bit of an edge with faster memory. Though the 3xx series will have HBM over GDDR5 if you want to wait and see how that pans out.
Could Someone recommend a GPU to best compliment an AMD Sempron 145 without any bottle-necking?
Could Someone recommend a GPU to best compliment an AMD Sempron 145 without any bottle-necking?
There's not going to be anything worth buying that won't be bottlenecked by a single core processor.
You saying I should just use onboard video instead of buying a gpu?
You saying I should just use onboard video instead of buying a gpu?
I mean what's your budget?
I mean what's your budget?
I wouldn't want to spend more than like $100, just want something that won't be stifled by the CPU.
I wouldn't want to spend more than like $100, just want something that won't be stifled by the CPU.
Anything is going to be stifled by the CPU. Single Core CPU's haven't been very relevant for gaming for years. Honestly if I were you I'd pick up a used GTX 550ti or similar, and an AM3 socket Althon II quad core. Those together should be under $100.

Reason I was thinking of upgrading the GPU, which is an ATI 4670, is because I'd like to squeeze a few extra FPS out of Source engine games, which are the most demanding I play on it. [editline]21st February 2015[/editline] Although overclocking the CPU might be a more reasonable alternative, I hear the Sempron is great for overclocking. I'd need my hand held for that though :v:

But a 550ti would probably do you the best for really cheap. And you might want to install drivers from around 2012/13 for maximum compatibility with both the older games and optimal performance for the card. [editline]21st February 2015[/editline] And god I haven't overclocked a sempy in years.

I looked through the lists you guys have made and i have questions. for starters, on the oc post, which one of those pc part lists woulkd be the bare minimum to be able to play say, gta 5, counterstrike go, garrys mod, left 4 dead etc.. and on that note, i dont know jackshit about building anymore, can someone make a complete list of the most efficient pc i could build that could atleast run gta 5, but mostly cs go and garrys mod. Preferably id like it to get them to build it for me somehow though, is that possible on any website? Im Looking to spend around $500 - 700. I dont want a monitor, just an hdmi output somehow to my tv. If anyone could basically put together the best list for a pc like this, itd be greatly appreciated! i could even gift someone on steam for their effort ;) i really want to build one by the time gta 5 comes out!! [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] prefereably something with an nvidia card, maybe this one? http://www.memory4less.com/m4l_itemdetail.aspx?itemid=1474785143&partno=01GP3N981BR&rid=1 i dont know, you guys know more than me!! [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] And I'm asking because i really want this to be a one time buy and its over no complications sort of deal, i dont want to have to waste tim working out why this or that isnt working and so on, just a complete working pc...
Here ya go, should be able to run all those games fine. GTA 5 should run well at 1080p, maybe just not with like shadows on ultra and max AA. Or just the OS in addition to what was already there.
This isn't exactly a PC building question, but what size and brand SSD should I get? I want to get an SSD to boot Ubuntu and Windows 10 (when it releases) on. Ubuntu will be used for dev work, and I plan to keep a majority of Ubuntu stuff on the SSD, while a majority of my Windows stuff will be on another HDD. This is my first time getting an SSD.

A friend that I used to play Dota with recommended this monitor to me because of the refresh rate, but this was long ago. I don't know much about monitors, but I'm assuming that the monitor had some sort of bottleneck to compensate. Also what is your opinion's on WD Black? I noticed that it doesn't get recommended at all around here.

I personally won't pay the large increase for 2 years more warranty and marginal performance increase.
Right now, I'm looking into doing my first PC build. I just wanted to have some more experienced people check over what I've got currently to make sure it will work.
