Guys, so I have this little assignment to basically write down basically the best build I could think of(that's available with current commercial stuff), if I had say, unlimited funds. Now I'm a dude who's in college but has never actually worked in his life so I've never had money to buy stuff and build a PC. Given that, I have absolutely no idea about all the stuff, good brands/manufacturers, etc etc although I do know the fundamentals. Can you dudes help me with this? Any person's dream build basically. The only conditions are that everything must be compatible and only currently commercially available stuff may be considered.

You can get it upwards of 70k though if you go into some server stuff. It'd be shit as soon as you put any shader mods on because it has a Quadro also it's fucking minecraft it'll always run like shit because it's pretty shitty.
Don't know if this is the right thread, but I wanted to know if anyone knows a decent monitor for not too expensive. Right now I have two different monitors, but I don't like the looks of it. Therefore I'm starting to look around for a decent monitor to buy twice, which I can probably spend the money on in the spring. Only absolute requirement I have is VESA support, as I currently have this pair wall-mounted.

Suggest how to manage cables better? [t]http://oi58.tinypic.com/33f3wh5.jpg[/t] Right now I tried as many cables to be ran through holes but they are so bulky that they don't fit properly, the more I look at my PC insides, the more I want to get new, better case. I don't even know what case I have right now. Also on a side note -what are those PSU models called where cables are split into smaller ones and look very nicely, they come in different colors. P.S - that stock fan ruins whole look :v:
Right now, I'm looking into doing my first PC build. I just wanted to have some more experienced people check over what I've got currently to make sure it will work. Just a few notes: I can only purchase this stuff from Newegg, I already have RAM that I can put in this system, and the ideal amount I want to spend is under $900(I have $900, but I don't want to spend that much).
-Do you really need 3TB? -Get the 4690K so you can overclock in the future. You have already picked a motherboard that allows it. I would drop down to a Crucial MX100 SSD and a 1tb HDD. And get a Nvidia 970 with the money you saved. I am not sure if its cool to post this in here but I do not want to make a thread for it and did not see a thread for it. I am going to be buying a new graphics card in the next week or so, I am getting $900 or so back from taxes and I plan on spending it on a graphics card. I currently have a GTX 660 TI and was looking at just getting a 980 is there a better card or would that just good. What 980 should I get if I do get one? Preferably EVGA.
Anyone have experience with mini-itx gaming builds? I am looking at building a new system soon and want to scale down from the ATX case I have to an ITX case, with full size graphics card.
Anyone have experience with mini-itx gaming builds? It also gives you more room for expansion. Mini itx machines don't really have alot in size difference if you're slotting in high end parts.
budget?
Crap, sorry for not saying that. I'd say my maximum would be 300 euros
Just ordered this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/guide/gcTwrH/entry-level-gaming-build Good choice?
Could of done better on the PSU. Could of opted for 2x4GB sticks for dual channel 280X is semi over kill with an i3.
I was thinking about getting another 8GB stick for that reason. I also bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CH-9000023-EU-Vengeance-Performance-Gaming/dp/B00BCHGSFQ , I've always been part of the school of thought that there's no point buying a mouse for over £20, but I wanted to see if there was a notable difference. [editline]1st March 2015[/editline] In the future, what should have I gone for in the PSU?
lol I forgot to buy windows on top of everything else
So this is the pc parts that are gonna be in my first build:
CPU: AMD Athlon x4 860k 3,7 GHz Mobo: MSI A68HM-P33 Ram: GSkill ValueRam DDR3 1333mhz 4GB PSU: Tacens Radix ECO 500W Case: Tacens Mars Gaming MC0 GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia 9800GT 1GB Drive: 128GB SSD Sandisk
Keep in mind this is all for 195€, the GPU and the SSD are pieces i had leftover from another build. What do you guys think?
I don't think Athlons actually have integrated graphics. They're motherboard dependant and on the motherboard it's usually something truly dreadful like a nVidia 6300 or something.
9800GT will most likely perform worse then the integrated graphics chip on that 860K, power supply is pretty awful
The GPU is not a problem, but what is wrong with the PSU? And yes, the 860k doesn't have an integrated GPU. I thought that having a dedicated gpu would be better than having an APU that will dedicate some of its power to graphics.
[editline]3rd March 2015[/editline] From what I'm looking at they're equivalent to Corsair. How much is that PSU costing you btw? edit GPU ISNT NON EXISTENT
24€. We looked at a bunch on this range of price and we thought this was the best one.
I just had a real good look at amazon.es it's the only one you're gonna get (how are ya getting it so cheap) with out having to pay more.
Not getting it in amazon, getting it through pccomponentes.es , which has killer prices at least for spain.
Ahh. Yeah cause most PSUs we recommend are seasonics, xfx and evga ones. http://www.pccomponentes.com/seasonic_m12ii_evo_edition_520w_80_plus_bronce_modular.html 75 euros compared to the 25 euro of the tacens
Yeah, also the point of this system is not running games at the best performance right now. It's just a base platform for when i want to upgrade, so i don't have a bottleneck with the cpu neither the mobo.
I can get a used samsung 840 pro 128gb ssd for $80, but I've never used one before. Is that a good deal/ssd? If I get it does anyone have any guides/tips for setting up a system with one?

You just have to load your operating system as normal with one. Install a few programs, and it's easy to direct your bulk data or steam games to a secondary drive. [editline]2nd March 2015[/editline] Updated builds in OP
The CPU wasn't in stock so I ordered this instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Graphics-BX80646I54430-Generation-Technology/dp/B00CO8T9VC/ref=sr_1_12?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1425373715&sr=1-12&keywords=intel I figure the bigger numbers make it future proof
