I would start with one at first, but it would be nice to have the ability to put an extra one in once I have the coin.
If you're going to blow so much money on a graphics card do it right and don't just get the cheapest you can.
Well, the others are just a couple more dollars I guess.

You'll be much happier that way, even if they are a slight bit more expensive.
how do you remove the silverstone logo off of this kind of case? anyone know if you can take it off with paint thinner or something?
how do you remove the silverstone logo off of this kind of case? anyone know if you can take it off with paint thinner or something?
You could try solvents or isopropyl alcohol, however you'd need to make sure that the logo is on a material that doesn't react with solvents. That's assuming that the logo is a sticker - it could be dyed onto the material itself, in which case you'd have to paint over it.
The last time I upgraded my pc was in 2011, have an i5 and a 560ti. I have enough money saved to build a new pc with the latest hardware. I already decided to get an i7 5820 hexacore, a 2011-3 mainboard, 16 gb ram, SSDs for 2 Terabyte space, but no graphics card yet. Should I get a 980 or a 980ti? I still have only an 1080p monitor, but plan on getting Oculus Rift (or an equivalent, depending on which is better). I might get a monitor with a higher resolution, 1440p? or somthing like that. Is the extra money worth the 980ti? Now that 980ti is coming out the 980 might get cheaper. I could also just get an 980 now, and upgrade next year again if the 4 gb aren't enough
You seem to be going all out. I'd go with the 980ti
The 980 is now completely redundant, the Ti is much more worth your money.
The 980 is now completely redundant, the Ti is much more worth your money.
Not entirely true. 980 SLI will still outperform something like a TitanX though it does have much more Vram. 980ti is great but expensive especially if you're going the SLI route in the future. Regular 980s give good bang for your buck especially now that it has the price drop.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TYs7FT (everything else is going to recycled) I think I got this finalized. The $50 SSD i'm skeptical about, but it has a ton of positive reviews. My current rig is from 2010 so its time for a worthy upgrade.

Hey guys, I'm just finishing up my build, the current parts I have are these: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XRNVP6 I'm looking for a decent graphics card, pondering a single GTX 980 The Ti puts me off a little, considering everything here costs around 150% of what it does in the US, it's about 850€ here (~960 usd) which drives me up the fucking wall but oh well. Any other ideas?
From what people have told me, a 970 is better in terms of price/performance compared to the 980, as a 980's price isn't worth the increase in performance.
I'd get an MSI card over the ASUS for sure.
Any reason? ASUS not holding their own in this department?
I think I found the monolith of pc cases This is some Iron Man shit
Any reason? ASUS not holding their own in this department?
ASUS hasn't been holding their own for top dog in GPU's in a couple generations. MSI/EVGA are trading blows, but for the 980 I'm giving it to MSI since EVGA fragments their 980's too much so for the base non-reference model MSI is using better components.

The shit they showed off at Computex is even crazier though.

Yeah that's gaudy as hell.
It's fryking terrible here in EU (Poland). I had to buy GPU RIGHT AWAY, because prices were going up crazy, because of dollar so expensive and low stock. Now I have to wait for last payout to actually buy rest of PC. So, I'm going for: CPU - Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor $235 GPU - R9 290X XFX DD 4GB Already bought it. Motherboard - ASRock B85 Anniversary $76 Memory - GoodRam 4GB 1333 CL9 $31 Memory - GoodRam 4GB 1333 CL9 got one free PSU - INWIN Commander III 800W $107 HDD - Seagate 1TB $61.7 SSD - ADATA Premiere Pro 128GB Already got it. Monitor - Acer G237HLA $145 Case - Corsair 230T Graphite ORANGE $89 Accessory - DVI cable and cheap keyboard $13.5 Total - $758.2 GPU is so sexy.

You guys are butts. I can't explain how handy the hotswaps have been. I know they have them in some other cases, but I got this new for $120 and they're just about the best of the handful. As the computer guru of my town and the surrounding, I deal with a lot of bullshit from time to time. Being able to pop out drives to hook up to other rigs to test bullshit is nice. Also having a separate OS drive to test/hook up virus'd/completely fucked drives on is nice. Don't want to risk them on my main. Also don't have to deal with externals often for the 20TB's of movies and music. The whole paragraph above is explained very badly because I've been up for around 40 hours, will edit the bastard later. THE CASE IS NICE GODDAMMIT OPEN THE SIDE CAUSE IT'S HINGED SHOVE IN VACUUM WHOO WHOO RIG IS CLEAN NO DUST NO NUTS TA BUST. I also might hide drugs in it. The front pullout 5.25's make nice slide out drawers as well. 3D printing is nice. Butts. Edit: If you don't like this case you need to rethink life and taste

Edit: If you don't like this case you need to rethink life and taste
Word of advice: Calling yourself computer guru and other people butts to justify your opinion is pretty rude. If you really have to tinker around with drives so much, why not get something like this [t]http://cc.cnetcontent.com/inlinecontent/mediaserver/stech/ae4/778/ae477890491e4835bfb9c6eb191e8cb3/original.jpg[/t] I use it like a DVD drive, but with much larger capacity than a DVD. The advantage against your way are that changing drives is as simpler and faster than putting bread into a toaster and spreading butter on it after its done. In fact, one of my current projects is to build a toaster case around it for some funny faces from my brother.
I'm quite obviously dicking around We'll in terms now call me 'The guy who really has no damn clue what he's doing with computers other than having some Win7 pro copies and knows how to assemble parts' Why would I pay for something near the price of the amazing case that I'll never have to worry about room in any time soon? I don't exactly understand what you're trying to say either. I can swap drives out in two seconds. Pull out, push in. I've even 3D printed some spare hotswaps with auto-locking mechs so I don't have to screw any new drives in. Why ya gotta be like that man. Edit: If you can't tell somebody is fucking around when they say "Guru" other than a person situated in the middle of Asia, please heighten your sense of humor.
Are you drunk? Never post-under-influence
No. The price of the docking bay you posted is $90 on their site and can be found for $50-80, my case is $200 MSRP but often found from $120-$160. For something taking two HDD's thru USB compared to a well, whole case that can hold 12HDD's w/ 5 hotswaps... Why are we arguing over this when there's Raidmax cases we could make fun of?

You can get one from Seagate for $10-$15
Hey, guys. I'm planning to have my next build be 100% liquid cooled. When should I expect a liquid cooling block to be available for the GTX 980TI, or is there something that already exists which would do?
