Hey, guys. I'm planning to have my next build be 100% liquid cooled. When should I expect a liquid cooling block to be available for the GTX 980TI, or is there something that already exists which would do?
The EK Thermosphere would do a decent job, but not as well as a full block. They should be coming soon, just keep an eye on dazmode.
Finally built my PC. I just wanna say that being able to hit the key to go to BIOS on time is a lot harder than it used to be, especially when your computer goes from off to login screen in less than 5 seconds...

Very handy feature.
Some motherboards come with apps that let you boot directly to bios. Very handy feature.
I found that out. It just makes me chuckle a little bit at how far computers have come in terms of speed. I mean I've got a y2k certified computer with a pentium cartridge style processor sitting in my room.

My new build is going to consume 1/2 the power than what I have currently, but be 2x+ more powerful.
Please, give me some advices and examples about choosing ~700w PSU
Please, give me some advices and examples about choosing ~700w PSU
Evga
Antec HCP 750w for $115, $95 after rebate if you're looking for some solid psu.
Evga
Only if it's the G2 or GS though.
What do you guys do with your stock cpu coolers? Mines just sitting in the corner somewhere wasting space.
What do you guys do with your stock cpu coolers? Mines just sitting in the corner somewhere wasting space.
Took off the fan assembly. The copper part is actually hollow so it's kind of like a bowl. Makes a great ash tray.
Took off the fan assembly. The copper part is actually hollow so it's kind of like a bowl. Makes a great ash tray.
Maybe I could rip a smoker off for 20 bucks.
Maybe I could rip a smoker off for 20 bucks.
It looks really fancy honestly. You have cool metal fins in a spiral fashion coming off a copper center. I'm sure someone would buy it for a few bucks.
I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card and I'm kinda thinking of getting a 960 since I don't necessarily need to run everything on the absolute highest settings or at 4k resolutions or anything but I'm also thinking it might just be worth getting a 970 instead so I could have it last a bit longer. Would you guys say a 960 be sufficient for most current and upcoming games to run well enough on high-ish but not complete max settings?

You won't be disappointed.
I know you guys like to have fun building, and I'm low on time to calculate a build this week so here is the wishlist and constraints: Parts required: HDD, Monitor, Keyboard, Mobo, CPU, GPU. Optional: Blueberry Poptarts, aftermarket CPU cooler, SSD, decent headphones. Constraints: -SSD must have at least 120GB. This will be primarily for the OS and 1 or 2 games. -HDD must have at least 500GB -Monitor must be 1080p OLED and at least 20 inches. -Keyboard must be mechanical. Must have keypad because I am studying accounting. Red switch preferred. -Mobo must not be a cheap piece of shit. Can be a small one if need be, but the CPU will be overclocked eventually so decent VRMs are needed. -CPU must be unlocked -GPU from a reputable manufacturer with no ridiculously long heatsinks. Cannot be low tier and must out perform the 560 Ti by a considerable margin. 1100 USD budget My PSU : Corsair TX 750w from 2009 Case: HAF 922

I meant LED my mistake. [editline]5th June 2015[/editline] But if a LED monitor with an IPS panel is something essential rather than a luxury and does not cost much more then by all means please add it to the build.
Hm, I need opinions. 1440p monitor or 144hz monitor for gaming?
Motherboard has 8 true VRM phases, should be able to handle any overclock you can throw at it at a great price. Top notch CPU cooler. 1080p IPS monitor. Solid quality mech keyboard, I didn't realize the full size coolermasters were back in stock after so long of them being out so I might have to pick one up myself. Card can max 1080p games no problem. ok, so i need help with reducing the price of this build. i'd like a 4690k, 980 ti, 16gb memory, 600W+ PSU (modular), and 120/240GB SSD in itx format. i already have the parts marked as 'purchased'. what i mean by 120/240gb ssd is that i can do perfectly fine with 120gb, but if a 240gb is not much more i'll get the bigger drive. i don't care much about brand names, i guess what i'm looking for are combo deals to help bring down the cost. planning on ordering this some time over the weekend. here's my current list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vL3xdC thanks m8s

I'd sacrifice the 980ti for a 980, bump the PSU quality, and still save plenty of money.
The PSU really isn't a quality unit. I'd sacrifice the 980ti for a 980, bump the PSU quality, and still save plenty of money.
can you recommend me a psu? if you can combo that with some other part that'd be even better i'd like to keep the 980 ti though, at least from what i've seen the ti's price is justified given how it performs over the regular 980.
I'd recommend this one. It's a far superior model quality wise. (Pay no attention that they are both EVGA SuperNova's, they are vastly different units)

SSD I'd replace for a Samsung 850 EVO. Its cheaper and better. For the board, it'll do alright.
I would like to thank Levelog for his help.
The EK Thermosphere would do a decent job, but not as well as a full block. As said before, I plan to have everything 100% liquid cooled and a GTX 980TI The motherboard will be an ASUS X99-A, CPU is a "Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W" RAM is currently undecided, but I plan to have 16GB, maybe 24 or even 32 depending on the price (I haven't built a computer in a looong time, so I am bit rusty and not up with the times) I plan to have an all SSD system (This is something I really need advice for as I've personally never used or purchased SSDs before), keeping my HDDs for external and backup use only. I would also like advice on what PSU I would get for such a system. If anyone has any advice for me, please let me know. I would like something that would last, but isn't overkill (That's why I'm getting a 980TI and not a titan) I'm not afraid to pay a little bit of extra money for higher quality or speed. The case is completely custom by me so I want this to be a build I can be proud of for a long time.
