Also don't get that crap SSD, for reasons I posted right above you.
Anyone know when those new AMD cards are coming out? I heard they have a ridiculous amount of VRAM. Though, most applications I use don't utilize that much, I was wondering how the price-performance ratio stands up to the 970. I was wondering what a decent 1500$ build would be? That would include speakers and monitor. Thinking of picking up a mechanical keyboard around 70$, but other than that, I'm not too keen on the recent trends with power supply, motherboard, memory, speaker and case brands. - I DO NOT plan on overclocking - OS and startup programs on SSD - Barely fill up my 750GB HDD - I do use DVDs/CDs on occasion PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($214.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($26.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($81.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($92.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($52.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.99 @ Best Buy) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($324.99 @ NCIX US) Case: NZXT Source 530 ATX Full Tower Case ($89.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Micro Center) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer ($12.99 @ Newegg) Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor ($249.99 @ Amazon) Keyboard: Cooler Master Storm QuickFire Rapid Wired Gaming Keyboard ($75.00 @ Mechanical Keyboards) Speakers: Logitech Z506 155W 5.1ch Speakers ($65.65 @ NCIX US) Total: $1391.43 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-06-28 02:45 EDT-0400

That power supply is also very bad. Try this one.
A friend of mine has a Vibox Ultra 11W PC with these basic specs :
3.9GHz AMD A8 6600K Quad Core APU Processor (4.2GHz Turbo Speed) 8GB of DDR3 1600MHz High Performance RAM Memory AMD Radeon 8570D Integrated Graphics Chip 85+ 500W PSU
He wishes to upgrade his PC to play newer titles like Wolfenstein : The New Order, GTA 5 ... Now, we determined it would be best to get a real GPU, and we settled on the AMD Radeon R9 270X. Is this a wise choice considering the budget is somewhere around 200€ ? If yes, is it better to take the MSI or Sapphire version ? Or an other one ?
So, posting here makes me kind of embarassed, as I know pretty much nothing about computers, but oh well. Next month's going to be my birthday and I'm going to build a PC for the first time. The actual building part seems to be pretty simple but I have literally no idea where to start as for the start picking. I've looked a bit on the internet for builds but it's pretty useless considering I cannot evaluate anything of them outside their price. Another concern of mine, other than selecting the parts, is actually getting them. Most websites and PCPartpicker itself list prices in dollars and refer to websites that use dollar listing. As I live in the EU, should it be a cause of concern or not? About the PC itself: I'm going to use it mainly for gaming. I'm pretty used to low graphic levels but I'd like to move out of "Very very [...] very low" and at least get somewhere around Medium. Price range is 500-600€
Hey y'all, I've recently been able to scratch up some spare cash from selling personal belongings. I was wondering if you'd be willing to help a guy who isn't tech savvy build a $700 pc. this is my current build but i'm open to hear changes or completely different builds. if it helps inform your choices I really loving working in sfm so something that could run that better then this laptop would be nice. I don't care too much about high graphics but it would be able to run stuff like payday2 and kf2 on something besides bare bone low
Can someone suggest me a new case please? I can't easily fit any more HDs into this one, and the cable routing is balls. (Plus having a giant hole in the top is just asking for trouble, I've already had one near miss. I'd prefer one with positive case pressure/air filters and side accessible HD bays. Needs to fit a full sized ATX, a 970 and 4+ disks. Thanks

I am planning on getting a GTX 960 for my current PC, but my PC's processor is an i3-4150 (3.5 GHz of speed). What should I do? Stay with it or upgrade? A 960 will do well with that i3
One of my friends reckons it will let down the GPU though as it's an i3, not allowing it to perform as good. I am planning on playing Batman: Arkham Knight soon, and apparently my current graphics card (R7 260x) won't perform as well on higher settings. I've owned this rig for about a year and a half and have yet to clean it for the first time tommorow (I know, stupid of me as it causes my fans to make more noise and risks overheating and stuff).
HDs. I have the standard number of DVD drives: One.
the case i'm using is a corsair 500r. It has a rear case fan and one large one on the side and two smalls on the front. 6 HDD bays that support SSD, and it has a nice cable management space on the opposite side of the case. Not sure if 6 is enough but I figured i'd recommend what I'm using. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-Series-Computer-CC-9011012-WW/dp/B005E983JW The trays are nice too. Can someone help me with decent-ish specs for a decent-ish gaming laptop. Looking to play games like WoW, Skyrim, GTA 5 etc... on it, but also Photoshop, Illustrator etc... (before anybody says "GET A TOWER OMG NOOB" i have one, i just want something portable aswell for when i go to peoples houses or on holday etc..) Budget is like £1200 ($1800) ish.... Preferably on finance (paid monthly but no stupidly high interest rate) I'd be very grateful.
Could I get an answer to this please?
I wouldn't call myself an expert in any sense of the word, but I have seen a lot of stuff saying that Seagate aren't the best HDDs around. Other than that you'll need to wait for someone else's suggestions.
My Seagate corrupted. Got it repaired with their warrenty, corrupted again. Got it replaced. Corrupted again. Trashed it. Replaced with Western Digital. Hasn't broke since.
Could I get an answer to this please?
Looks good, but the cooler is really subpar. It's not going to handle any overclocking at all.
The performance with an i3 [editline]29th June 2015[/editline] Nah, there are better cases...
Yeah but people are saying it will take away performance. Since the 960 is around £200, is it neccessary to upgrade my CPU too? I have the money.
Some very CPU heavy games, like Total War games or large MMO's, would probably benefit from the i5. Take a look at this video, as you can see in general the frames are pretty much even, pointing to the GPU being the lowest performing part. Hey I'm back. Here's my finalized list, looks like some prices went up. Has GSkill been a decent memory brand recently?
