I mean anything between the fans and the outside is going to reduce airflow, this is what filters do. It's minimal since they're really good filters though, and well worth the reduced flow.
Can I ask one more question about them. How do they snap onto the case?
Two ways. If the case is magnetic (eg steel) then they just go right on. The borders of the filters are magnetic. If your case is not magnetic (like plastic, aluminum) then you use the stick on magnetic things that (should) come with it. You'll just put them on the borders of where you want the filter so the magnetic part of the filters work.
Hey guys, im getting new parts for my PC, and i'm in need of GPU.
My specs are:
PSU: Logic 400W
GPU: GT 630 od MSI
CPU: I5 3470 3.20GHZ
RAM: 6GB DDR3, Nayna Technology
Motherboard: MSI Model H61M-P20 (G3) (MS-7788)
I've already been suggested to change the PSU to Thermaltake Smart SE 530 and get GTX 650 TI, but i'd like to know if some other parts could use a change.
I'd personally get GTX 750 TI, and get the PSU i've been suggested, but i'd like to know FP's opinion
The thermaltake isn't really great either. I'd bump to a 960 though if you have the budget, it's very worth it over the 750ti.

Well, to be honest my budget isn't big since prices in Poland are big compared to prices in euro, and GTX 750 TI is within my budget limit
Should I go for a CM 212X or a CM 212 EVO? Not quite sure on the difference.
Just got the Evo yesterday. It's pretty huge but it's a beast. Keeps my temps at 40c in GTA
Oh My God.

Almost all of my parts have arrived!

Unfortunately, the place where I ordered the case + PSU from didn't have the case in stock, meaning that they can't ship until tomorrow and thus I can't begin building until next week at which point my amount of free time drops by a large amount.

No backup software is going to let you do this. You need a working OS installed to use them. Just clone your old drive to the new one using Clonezilla, it's free.
[editline]1st July 2015[/editline]
Though be warned, Windows is like 50/50 whether or not it will boot with a different motherboard. You may have to do a fresh install.
Also, doesn't sysprep help to avoid problems with different hardware?
Does this look like a good monitor for general gaming/browsing use?

Uhhh, define general gaming/browsing, because that monitor is pretty overkill for just some light gaming and browsing.
Uhhh, define general gaming/browsing, because that monitor is pretty overkill for just some light gaming and browsing.
Oh, I didn't mean light gaming, I have bought the hardware to run stuff at 1440p, I just wanted to know if the monitor was good for its pricerange is all.
Once my computer is all together I'll probably be gaming as close to 24/7 as I can, I haven't been able to play a single game that came out past 2010 on my toaster.
[editline]2nd July 2015[/editline]
Also anime and stuff, which is why I wanted the IPS screen for better colour.
From what I can tell, if I'm converting the currency correctly, that price for that monitor isn't that bad.
It's a pretty good deal actually, though, you might want to wait to get a second opinion.
To be certain, that's 429 AUD right?
Yeah, AUD.
Then yeah, in terms of value, that one is pretty great.
At least in my opinion.
Cheers, I'll check for a few other opinions, but I think I'm set on this one.
Thoughts on mobo? msi gaming 5 or asus z97-a?
But Gigabyte Gaming 5 over MSI IMO
I'll go gigabyte then, £10 cheaper. Any thoughts on a modular psu? Was considering the Corsair RM series 750w, incase I buy a second 980ti (i plan to save up for the first one by August.
Nah, RM isn't that great. Get this.
You lot don't mess about, is bronze rating fine as I see gold on some
Rating really doesn't mean shit. I just look at the quality of the actual unit.

Awesome! Will buy tonight when I get paid, then time to save for a 980ti

Wait do you get paid for this?
700...
Oh shit forgot one thing, coolermaster 212 cooler I guess? I plan to OC my 4790k, but I'm much more focussed on a cool and quiet pc than it being incredibly overclocked

Yeah, the 212 would do that well. But 2 Corsair SP120 quiet editions if you want it even quieter.

I'll grab them after I get a new gfx card and keyboard :v: Just needing a good cpu cooler as always hear the 212 name thrown about

Do you actually need a 980 and 4790k or are you just an elitist?
So it's now closer to the time I'm going to be start buying parts. I've never owned a personal desktop before and I never paid any attention to it til now. I'm planning to buy most (if not all) parts on amazon (that's available) during the huge sale that's going to happen on the 12th.
Right now, this is my current build:

I have the PSU and the harddrives (Thinking about getting another SSD 250gb during sale)
How does it look? I'll mostly playing csgo, but I want to play other games that I've never touched on my steam library :v
I also have no plans on overclocking
It says the case can hold 3 INTERNAL 3.5" BAYS. Does that mean I can put an ssd in there too?
Oh my budget would be around $700 w/o tax but I'm hoping to get it atleast $600 w/o tax because im poor

Yeah, Clonezilla hasn't really ever changed much. And sysprep should, but ya know, computers.
