I honestly really wouldn't get a 960.
I kinda have to though, I'd need to buy a new PSU to be able to use the 970 and that would be taking up all of my budget and I don't really want that. I'd probably upgrade in a year or two anyway and I think the 960 will be sufficient until then.
It will be, especially if you're playing at 1080p. It tests at pretty much what my heavily OC'd 680 does, and it's still acceptable for 1440p. Do try to get the 4gb 960 though.
Yeah I think I'll go with the MSI 960 4GB as I don't plan to go over 1080p anytime soon. [editline]13th July 2015[/editline] Oh yeah and in that case, would it be okay if I plugged in the PCI 6-pin connector into a converter to 8-pin and then into the card? The card comes with that converter so I'm assuming it should be okay with that.
There's really almost no difference between a single 8gb stick and 2x4gb since you have a dedicated GPU. Just go with what's cheapest. The i3 is also adequate, though if you can afford it bump up to an H97 motherboard and i5 4430/4460. XFX has great PSU's, they're rebranded Seasonics.
That'd be another 100€, I'll see what I can do. I saw that it lacks an optical drive, any advice on that one?
You can install your OS and drivers from a flash drive no problem, do you have any need for an optical drive?
You can install your OS and drivers from a flash drive no problem, do you have any need for an optical drive?
I have a few games (Fallout: NV, Bioshock 1 and 2, etc etc) on gamedisc.
You can redeem the keys on steam pretty much every time.
You can redeem the keys on steam pretty much every time.
Now that I think about it Fallout had a steam key, but Bioshock 1 and 2 are dlc-free.
You can redeem the keys on steam pretty much every time.
Wait, what? Not last time I checked. You can't just go and redeem non-steam keys on steam, and if they were steam games then they'd already be on his account.
Nope. For quite a few older games are supported that wern't on steam at launch but are now you can just input the key and it'll add it.
Could get a 970 end of this week, but really want that 980ti. I have a 1080 monitor which is 120hz so I'm sure it won't be overkill.

So Im thinking Im gonna do another midrange ~1500$ build with a skylake i5 around the end of the year or beginning of next year. My question is, Im considering upgrading my GPU now, and switching the newer GPU into the new computer when I build it. Question is, will the 760 still be a viable card that will last at least 2 years until games catch up to it (run under 30fps constantly), or should I grab a 980 if I need it to last 2.5 years? Im working on hopefully getting a raise, so thats got something to do with the descision, and I prefer to have higher than 80 fps when I play, because I have a 144hz monitor.
What CPU do you have now?
i5 3570k not overclocked, stock cooler. I had a mild overclock on it for a while, but there really wasnt much benefit, so I set it back to normal. The only time usage got above 85% constantly was space engineers working on the space hulk, which is a fate I would not wish on any CPU.
Alright, looking to build my first PC, need to know by end of tomorrow whether this will work to try and capitalize on an amazon sale on wednesday. Here's what I'm looking at: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YmX6bv CPU: Intel Core i5 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Motherboard: MSI H97 PC Mmate LGA 1150 Memory: Mushkin Blacklin Radioactive 2x 4GB Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD Video Card: GeForce GTX 960 4GB Case: NZXT Source 210 (There might be compatability issues with this one. Might change.) Power Supply: Antec Green 450W OS: Windows 10 (I think, see below) Total might change with the sale, but right now it's $704 American. Out of curiosity, if I get Windows 7 or 8, would I still be eligable (or want to) get the free update to 10? Planning on using the computer for gaming and video editing, mainly live action, at most 40 or 50 minutes. I'd like Dwarf Fortress to perform well, but from what I can tell that mostly comes down to CPU and I'm afraid upgrading to i7 might be too expensive. Then again, if doing that will also help video editing performance as well, so be it. Also, there's apparently a voltage issue between the memory and something else, but I really don't have the knowledge or experience to know how to fix it. i will reward help with pillsbury biscuits
Should prob go for a 600W PSU min. Anyone here wanna buy a lenovo y500?

Can anyone recommend a Router that is not completely ass, yet not too powerful (High Cost). What I mostly care about is that it have Gigabit ports and 1 USB port for Photo Backup. I don't really know my budget, but from what I've seen then it already gets kind of pricy at this point. But I would just like to hear what you guys can recommend to a reasonable price. Maybe not the correct place to ask, but figured that you guys had a general good idea anyway.
Aria PC doing another flash sale of i5-4690k. Do I buy now or wait until the Amazon sale? I'm not sure how the Amazon sale will work, and if it's even in the UK. Edit: looks like I already missed it. Oh well.

Aria are legit.
Oh shoot. An extra 2 i5-4690k's went on sale and I managed to grab one. Hype. [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] Sorry for the probably simple question, but how to I ensure this power supply works with this GPU? PCPP says the power supply has one 6pin and one 6+2pin. The requirements on Gigabyte's page says you need a 550W with a 6pin and 8pin. Do the specs on PCPP only talk about GPU outputs?
Damn, £160. I'm also considering buying it. Never heard of that website though.
They be legit, been to their shop near me.

Anyways, the 4GB GTX 960 should cover you for more than 2 years if you just take care of your PC (physically). There aren't any games that actually require the maximum potential of the 970 at the moment (even on max settings), I've been playing Arkham Knight and GTA V on max settings with 120FPS+ and smooth gameplay.
prime day sale is on 256gb mx100 for $80 for 24 hours, i picked one up.
