I've been looking to sell my current laptop and upgrade to a PC. I'm looking to spend anywhere from $900 - $1,150. I wanna upgrade because my laptop isn't powerful enough to run newer games even at 30 fps minimum settings. It's gonna be primarily for gaming and I would like to stream my games as well. I would love to run newer games at 1080p 60fps if possible. I'm not really worried much about overclocking, and I also need both an OS and a monitor. I threw together this build, but my knowledge of what brands are good and what not are very limited, so I was just going off of reviews that people left for the parts. Let me know what you guys think.
Would I want more vram if I were to downsample from 4k to 1080p?
?
Hello from windows 8.1 not an iPhone Monday: i put the psu, mobo, cpu in Tuesday: i put everything else in Today: ram was put in; i POSTed successfully and every thing has been installed I have one last thing to say Thank you; all of you i doubt i would be here without all of your help THANK YOU SO MUCH
?
Using supersampling at 4K sampling down for a 1080p monitor? Yes because you're basically rendering at 4K.
Looking for a good laptop hard drive. It doesn't have to have a whole lot of space and I'm trying to get something cheap but also pretty speedy. My current laptop has a 1TB drive but I don't see myself using it as much since I got my gaming/work PC. However it currently is so friggin slow I think the hard drive is dying since it's some cheap hitachi piece of crap. Any good 7200 rpm laptop hard drives I can look for? 500GB or less. Hell it can even be 250 or less, I won't be loading games on it at all.
Using supersampling at 4K sampling down for a 1080p monitor? Yes because you're basically rendering at 4K.
So 8gb is overkill since I'm gonna go for a 390?
No reason to upgrade the CPU for any game. That motherboard is retardedly expensive. Get a crucial/samsung/intel ssd.
Thanks for the reply. Yea that's fair enough but I'll see a marked improvement from the graphics card?. Any suggestions on mobos? Any reason for the ssd choice? Its getting pretty ok reviews and the speeds are pretty good. Yea Bugga, the case can house cards up to 320mm apparently.
You can use the stock cooler for a stock clocked CPU so you won't need the evo either
So you're saying the stock cooler will be good enough, and I dont need to get the evo cooler?
You'll also want a better quality power supply
Do you have any recommendation? I have no clue what brands are good and what not.

Hey guys, I'm looking into build a new PC capable of running games with High at 60fps. I don't need any monitor since the one I am using now is 1920x1080. It must be around the budget $1100 (or alternatively, $1500-1800 if I get my cheque.) Thanks!

I wouldn't skimp out on the PSU and get something a little better. Also you don't really need a 212 evo I think. Stock cooler will be okay.
also z97 mobo with a non k processor use a h97 to same some cash
Can someone give this a little glance over and tell me if it's okay please? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/q9TQbv I'm not sure if it's worth swapping the case for a 500R, and although my budget is already stretched any suggestions are very much appreciated.
On Monday I'll be pairing a 5960X and 32GB DDR4 with a Geforce 7 Series :v: [editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
Can someone give this a little glance over and tell me if it's okay please? An evo is a bit wimpy for a 4790K. The 4690K is a good alternative. The case is the last thing to spend lots of money on

It felt so wrong. Also the case is definitely not the last thing, odds are it's going to be the thing you keep the longest and a good case can go a long way in ease of build and lifespan of the components. Along with upgradability.

That build is fine btw
I just checked, it gets worse. It's the 7200GS

Looking at prices, the 500R and a better HSF won't be much of a stretch. What would you recommend?
