You'll want to have an H97 board, not an H87 as the 4460 is a haswell refresh chip. Otherwise it looks really good. Bumping the 960 to a 970 would be very worth it as well if you can fit it in your budget.
Someone else I talked to also suggested the H97, so I'll go for that. He also suggested to not get the 960 and instead go for an R9 280X or perhaps an R9 290. The 290 is "only" 256.85 €, so that'd also be in the budget. He also suggested a different PSU: 82,41 € PSU 500 Watt be quiet! Straight Power 10 Non-Modular 80+ Gold http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/500-Watt-be-quiet--Straight-Power-10-Non-Modular-80--Gold_976846.html Would the build with these 3 changes (Motherboard, GPU, PSU) be a good choice for a total of 815€?

That be quiet! is an FSP platform that's really solid, but still not as good. How much is a 970 vs the 290?
I'd stick with the seasonic. That be quiet! is an FSP platform that's really solid, but still not as good. How much is a 970 vs the 290?
Well there always seem to be a dozen different versions, but the cheapest one is 323€ vs the 290's 257€.
Well there always seem to be a dozen different versions, but the cheapest one is 323€ vs the 290's 257€.
Go with the 290 then. My parents computer is really slow not sure what to do with it.(it's some Compaq prebuilt probably a single core) I've got my old e7400 CPU laying around and I don't really feel like spending any more than £100 on them, what should I do?

I just noticed that the build from the OP I based mine off doesn't have a CPU cooler. Is there a reason for that?
Anybody know of a cheapish monitor with 1ms response time? I don't need a high resolution, it'll be for playing fighting games using an Xbox 360. 720p would be plenty.
1ms response time? a 5ms would be just as satisfactory
So a while ago I got a GTX 960 as a gift, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to spend $130 to upgrade it to a GTX 970 with EVGA's step up program.
Hey guys, my buddy was looking to get a new rig when he gets his taxes back but he doesn't really know where to start and neither do I haha. He mostly plays league and blizzard titles like d3 and starcraft right now, which as far as I know don't require a whole lot but he said he wouldn't mind having the ability to play heavier games if he wanted to, even if it wasn't on max settings. Oh right he also does minor photoshop/illustrator work, and has said he's interested in doing 3d rendering and stuff if that makes any difference. But i feel like that might be out of his price range. I have no idea. He has a budget of $600-800 CAD and I don't think he needs and OS, and he'll upgrade his monitor later.

Man I forgot all about evgas step up program, damn. Would have totally bought evga had I thought about that but instead I went MSI. I love the MSI 970, very good quality, but the idea that I could trade it in for a 980 down the line would have been awesome
you'd have to do it within 90 days. i just sent in my 970 ftw for the ftw+ edition. and now it's like a whole new card to evga.
This will work perfectly, thank you!
It should also be noted that response time/input lag always have major variation in how manufacturer's test them. 1ms can be bullshit. Benq seems to be pretty reliable with theirs though, so I chose it over a slightly cheaper AOC and ASUS.
Got a question out of these three which should I get the H100i GTX the H105 or the H110 from corsair?
Got a question out of these three which should I get the H100i GTX the H105 or the H110 from corsair?
Probably the H100i. The H105 is a bit better, but what case do you have? It's pretty thick for an AIO.
Alright so here's my overall build.
