Apparently this card, the one I ordered and now have sitting in its box on my desk isn't part of amazons version of the deal, even though just about every other site that has the deal has this one part of it. This page has all the cards amazon has the deal applied to.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?node=12026881011
I don't know why every other site would have it but amazon wouldn't.
[editline]2nd September 2015[/editline]
I'm to blame in this shituation because I just wanted to use my prime and have the card and the game the day it came out but it's still stupid.
[editline]2nd September 2015[/editline]
I was on the phone for like half an hour and the guys I talked to had no idea it was even a thing, and wouldn't let me do anything to get the code except exchange it for one that's part of the deal.
Hey guys, slightly updated build (I've decided to buy all parts via Amazon since I already have prime)

- You could save $100 on case and motherboard if you went with a microATX z97 board and a Fractal Core 1000 or equivalent cheaper microATX case
- You could save $8 on thermal paste by just using the stuff that comes with the 212
- The fans that come with cases are honestly just fine if you're not SLI / Crossfiring, save $50 there
- Windows at retail price is kind of a ripoff, if you know any college students check if they have Dreamspark keys they could share (or another key you could grab off a computer and activate)
- GTX 970s seem around $50 cheaper on newegg

I'm leaving out the fans and Arctic Silver for now and getting Windows through a buddy's dreamspark program, that was great advice.
One thing worries me though, the 970 needs a 2x3 and 2x4 connector for power, but the PSU only seems to have 2x5 ports, will this be a problem?
The main reason I wanted to buy fans was for noise reduction, but I'll try the stock fans and only buy 3rd party fans if the noise is too much.

Thinking of buying the Parvum x1.0 Mini-ITX case, though im nervous about me breaking something because its made out of pure acrylic, not to mention its fucking expensive at $149.99, though it has full watercooling support, easy cable management, 4 SSD trays (and 2 HDD trays), and the blue frosted acrylic diffuses light to give a glowing effect if you have LED's inside of your case iirc.

Hard drive is an odd choice, the cache really isn't going to make much of a difference. PSU is not fantastic quality and unnecessarily expensive. RAM is stupidly overpriced though. You're still not going to be playing games terribly well on it though. The difference between CL8 2133 from CL10 2400 is not worth it whatsoever. Also you'll want to get a CPU cooler for sure with it. The stock cooler is beyond shit. Get a coolermaster T4 for stock clocks, something better if you're overclocking which I highly recommend with that.

Thanks man!
I've been intending on buying a new graphics card for the last couple of months, and I was going to go for a 980 or a 980 TI to avoid having to buy another graphics card for a while, but with all the stuff about DirectX 12 lately, and with Nvidia bringing out HBM cards next year, I thought it would be best to go for a cheaper and less powerful one now, and then probably upgrade again once everything is definitely supported properly either next year or the year after (which would also give me more of an opportunity to get money for it).
I'm currently on a 580 (which still works fine, but games are becoming more demanding on it now), so I think that pretty much anything I get would be an upgrade. I was thinking of getting either a 970 or one of the AMD cards, but I'm not really sure which to go for. I was leaning towards getting a 970 because I'm already on Nvidia, but I'm not really opposed to getting an AMD card if there are good reasons for me to do.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what card I should get? My budget is about £400 at the highest, but I wouldn't be buying it until the end of the month at the earliest.
Also, I'm looking into getting a Windows 8 / 8.1 OS if they're optimised for most PC games, is there a specific OS I should get for that or does it not really matter?
Het the Windows 10 free upgrade.
God dammit, the fractal 1000 case is too small for the 212 evo and a 970, guess I'll pay a bit more for a roomier case.

I'm just gonna buy another HAF 912
Hey guys. I'm fucking retarded and this is my first build ever.
I currently dont have a monitor, and am using my TV. I hooked it up via HDMI cable, and everything is secure. I turn on the computer (no case, btw). All the fans are turning, everything seems to work- but it will not receive an image on the screen. It just says "searching for source on this input" and nothing happens. No prompt screen, nothing. I have a flash drive with windows on it, and my keyboard plugged in. I ordered a case speaker so I could further pinpoint the problem, but has this ever happened to anyone before?

Same thing happened with my build, plug in your graphics card with a dvi. Your TV should have a VGA input, but probably not a DVI input. You'll have to get a vga-dvi adapter if it doesn't. After you install drivers for the graphics card you'll be able to use hdmi fine with the TV.

This sound like a semi-decent/decent rig for gaming, video editing, and/or rendering 3D models?
My brother wants a new computer so I've put this together and I just want to check if everything is okay for his needs. He only plays WoW and Heroes of Newerth on 1680x1050 so he doesn't want something overkill, but he may want to play some newer games in the future (but isn't worried about maxing them out).
