I'd change the PSU both otherwise looks great.
Why is that? I've heard a lot of good things about EVGA PSUs.

50/50. Their older models are not good at all. Their newer models like the Supernova G2/P2/B2 are good, especially those first two.
My friend, or really a friend of a friend, is talking about using Ibuypower to purchase a PC. He knows very, very little about PCs. Should I ward him off from using Ibuypower or is it okay to use. He has concocted a build with a gtx 970, some sort of i7 and a bunch of weird off brand parts.
Why is that? I've heard a lot of good things about EVGA PSUs.
I have a very similar build and I used an antec hcg 520m, and it performs very well. Even the packaging was of high quality, came in this little bag that I use to store the spare modular cables.
Can't wait for my last few computer parts to come in, it's going to look so beautiful.
As for mood lighting for a computer desk, my friend got these Phillips Hue light bars for his house. I was playing with them via phone and they were pretty fun with all the settings. Yet for a 200 dollar price tag for two light bars a meter long. Eh, I don't have that kind of money to blow
So I went searching on Ebay and found
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5M-SMD-RGB-5050-Waterproof-Strip-light-300-LED-44-Key-IR-Remote-12V-5A-power-/281055672866?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4170393a22
Anyone have any experience with them? They look bright, hell of a lot cheaper and I figured it's MORE then enough, also if they aren't bright enough, I can add another strip or so to make it brighter.
Probably the H100i. The H105 is a bit better, but what case do you have? It's pretty thick for an AIO.
Case i have is a Aerocool DS 200 mid tower there is room in the top based on the interchangeable panel
So I've been debating for a while about my graphics card. Ideally I'd like the cost to be under $300, but I realize adding a newer one might also require a PSU upgrade, too, so upper limit is probably closer to $400. How much bang can I get for my buck?
Forgot to post my Speccy, here it is.

Bad value from an overclocking standpoint. Only has 4+1 for VRM's, and they're not the best quality. Honestly any ASUS board below $200 is bad price/performance.

Post an alternative please. Had to have 3.1 and has to be below 200.
With the type of rig I'm building I doubt these so called issues will be a problem.
USB 3.1? Yeah that'll be your only real option atm. If you're not overclocking much though I'd just get a cheaper board and a 3.1 PCIe card since you can have 4 ports right there then.
That seems like too much effort for me haha
That seems like too much effort for me haha
Are you serious? How lazy do you have to be?! That's literally just going to be ordering one additional card and slotting it in when you build the machine. Grow up.

I have the same lights from Amazon. They're hit and miss really. I had to buy them and return them the first time as they would only display blue and the remote wouldnt do anything but turn it off and on.
So I refunded them through Amazon, and bought another set and they worked perfectly fine, to this day. I ordered it back in December. I also have two strips to make it brighter (using it as backlight for my computer desk)

I'd swap out the mobo for the Gaming 5 or Gaming 7. They both have more true VRM phases. The Gaming 5 is cheaper while the 7 is the same price as the UD5H. For the Gaming 5 vs Gaming 7 the 7 has an extra VRM phase for memory, 2 more SATA ports, reset and power buttons on the board, and a debug LED.
Other than that it looks solid, 850w is overkill for a single 980, but I don't remember the 750w version of the PSU being much cheaper in current prices.

I'm planning to get my first desktop ever after having only had gaming laptops. I want to get a GTX 980 but there are so many different versions. Might be a stupid question, but what's considered as the best one? Price isn't an issue.

In my person experience, i always choose EVGA brand.
As I think I've said before, I'm recommending MSI this time around. Their 900 series is just top notch and doesn't cheap out on anything, unlike EVGA who've cheaped out on VRM's for any model below their $700 Classified.

I only have one 6pin slot available on my PSU and Corsair doesn't seem to have a 6 pin to 6 pin connector. Does anyone have any solutions?

Okay I took a look at your PSU. Your PSU only has 1 8 pin connector. (Well a 6+2) It does not have a 6 pin PCIe connector. The 6 pins in your PSU is likely for sata cables or something, not a graphics card. You're probably going to have to get a new PSU unfortunately.
