Because it has to do with a certain video format.
audio has nothing to do with video resolution
Real audiophiles listen to stereo vinyls on an earthquake proof turntable.
Fuck. You would need a monitor the size of a goddamn ..The size of a goddamn.. a godda.... There isn't even anything to fit it on!
One day that will be on 10" Netbook screens :dance:

Considering that Intel and AMD are both worried that there are going to be problems scaling down below 16Nm transistors, we can't always think of technology as being infinitely scalable, there's a high chance that small screens will never reach such high resolutions.
I'll have you know I game to 5.1 You can have as many sounds coming from one speaker as you want. You can have as much 3D from 2 channels as you want. Surround is largely superficial from an audiophile standpoint. Having good speakers and placement is a billion times more important to quality than having 8 speakers. Even in games I can barely hear the difference between well placed stereo and surround. The only place it makes a noticable difference is in films because they are mixed in a way that works best with surround.
You can say all you want, but you'll never make me feel a sound is coming from the back by using the front speakers. That's simply bullshit. You just don't get the same placement from 2 speakers as you get with 4, period. I can tell the difference in games and it makes it a lot easier to spot enemies.
No it doesn't.. 1080p just means 1,080 horizontal lines of pixels. It can be DivX, h.264, AAC, anything.
Oh god I never knew there was such a thing as Resolution fanboys :froggonk: 1080P is better, allways was, allways will be
512x384 VESA is where it's at, what are you talking about.
Is this guy joking or what?
512x384 VESA is where it's at, what are you talking about.
Fuck your VESA, I'm living it up in the future with S-Video, fuck yes.
Just a question how the F* can you afford a 30' inch screen. Assuming your a 16 year old in a upper class suburban neighborhood. I've heard of dumpster diving in back on walmart and other big stores and you can find tv's and other cool shit that have been open scratched or need repairs a blind dog with one paw could do. *non-lawyer spokesperson*
I think it's more in terms of the 16 year old getting a fulltime paying job.
What about 1600p gaming? http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668254.php?cmpid=topnav_displays#prodBar But then you look at the comments.
I can play about every game I own at 1080p with an HD 4830. It doesn't even break a sweat in source games. 40-60 frames with everything maxed out.
audio has nothing to do with video resolution
no no I meant 22.2 was developed just for SHV. Well he probably has v-sync on, so he probably couldn't go above 60. Besides I'd rather have v sync on then 200 FPS I've noticed with my 4870, maxed, the framerate never drops in TF2 (from 60 FPS)

it's easier to control it at higher frames, responds much better.
it's easier to control it at higher frames, responds much better.
I'll give that a shot. Turned v-sync off. Best I saw was 150-ish.
It's not easier to control at higher framerates since you can't see higher than 60/75 w/e your screen refreshes at. V-sync however uses a buffer that creates a slight delay on the video. It does prevent visual artifacts though, so you may prefer it, like I do.
that's not what i said, now is it? the control input is more responsive at higher framerates.
