this latest Windows update is actually pretty cool. so many small, minor changes that makes the OS feel so much better.
decided to enable Cortana again as well, though she seems a little useless to be honest. I'm not integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem at all and it doesn't look like I can sync my Google stuff with her. calender, reminders, fitness, etc, it's all at Google.

apt-get, and Debian packaging, works, but it's really horrible after you get used to something that's good.
dnf and pacman easily beat that mess to death. They're so much faster, and pacman packaging is actually sane, you can actually understand what the hell is going on.

You have to plug your Google shit in elsewhere. If you can get your events to display on the stock calendar app, you've done it correctly.
The update moved everything around on me so I'm not confident in this anymore, but I think you can add your Google account at the "Accounts" screen in Settings.

It used german for me.
It was the first thing I changed. I never run anything in german language on my PC. It just feels weird for me if it isn't in english.

I had to add my hostname to /etc/hosts to get sudo to stop complaining about lookup failures

It will most likely last you beyond the release (assuming it's this fall) and into the Christmas time, and beyond that too because it's a think pad. That's why.

Pretty much. Apt is rough after you get used to someone better. I just use Debian/Ubuntu for small VM's that I want to run software thats tested on it. Like Ubiquiti does all their Unifi controller development and testing on Debian so all my controllers go on a Debian box.

There's nothing inherently terrible about Ubuntu (anymore, since Canonical got less insane) but the cons outweigh the pros for everything I do over CentOS.
This might sound crazy, but it seems Win10 made my laptop temperatures go 5~10°C higher than with Win8

When it finally goes tits-up, it does so big time.
But it works really well compared to how old the codebase for it is.
I did it again, I somehow used bootcamp to fuck up my partitions beyond maybe repair even. Bootcamp still doesn't work, and now OSX doesn't work either.
I don't know how I do it. Maybe I'm too retarded to use OSX, or their system sucks
