In update news on fuckwit community, one of the owners is gonna bail them out, $638 worth of bail money just so the whole process can repeat its self next month, he's also too stubborn to listen to my suggestion. :v:

Nothing quite like understanding networking and abusing it to get free internet no matter where you are

Too much effort to migrate over to anything else on the desktop, and it works perfectly, and is very lightweight.
Missing out on a few advanced features that I never use anyways, so it doesn't matter.

I use rtorrents RSS configuration stuff because it's way better than deluges, but I just use deluge because it's so much more aggressive. More ratio.

If you are looking for something cheap, I'd recommend the TP Link WR740N, i own one since 2011 i think and it's still kicking ass. It doesn't have an usb port but for the price (R$50 or cheaper) and the ability to DDWRT'd it's pretty decent

I've been using an Archer C7 and my friend has been using it after I recommended it as well. It's been great so far, no issues. I installed DD-WRT and managed to boost the signal enough to reach my Chromecast on the other end of the house, too. Also has USB ports.
Hmm to get Office 365 to replace the current E-mail server or to go full linux and get Zentyal...
So the situation is that the current E-mail server is running on Windows Server 2003 for ~150 clients and yeah, it needs an upgrade. I did some price checking and migrating alone costs 3000€. Then add the monthly fee to it as well and shits expensive.
Office 365, because dealing with your own email servers is painful.
If you're really interested in doing it yourself, check out Icewarp. We use it for internal office email and the ISP email system. It's surprisingly not shit, but we also have some Linux VMs with spamassassin / amavis sitting in front of it for email filtering.
Hosting your own email as a company is almost never worth it.

Especially when you can just line item an expense off to google to handle it for you. You get all the anti spam, and no beancounters complaining because you can just go.. well it saves us hundreds of man hours, and has essentially perfect uptime.

We were this fucking close to hosting somewhere else when we were planning to move to 2013. Unfortunately we did the math, and due to already having a few hundred Exchange 2013 CALs when they upgraded from 2003 to 2010 a few years ago, it wasn't cost effective to just throw out those licenses.
Oh well, at least the web interface is a fuckton better than having to install an actual app to manage it.

At the end of the month I'm planning on blowing 2k on a new build. So fucking tired of this 3770k and z77
The X99 Deluxe II is like 430 though, but comes with so much.
I was just looking at some Asus gaymer x99 board and it was $560. :v:
[editline]8th August 2016[/editline]
Asus rampage v edition 10
My plan was to go with:
6900k
X99 Deluxe II
H115i
EVGA 750 P2
Corsair LPX 2x16GB 3000MHZ
That comes to like 1800. Or go with a 6800k for now for 1200 and swap to a 6900k later in the year.
Edit: The thoughts of spending an irresponsible amount of money is the only thing that can cheer me up at this point.
It would be cool to go from a 1366 system to a brand new 2011v3 system but, like you said, irresponsible amounts of money.

I lust after the X99 Deluxe II. It is the only mobo I've found that can realistically replace my current board. Gigabyte P67A-UD7.
The rear IO is nothing but USB, Network and Audio. Fuckton of SATA, bunch of 16x PCIE slots (That's easy to find at least). Yet there are like no other boards on the market can realistically do this to the same degree right now. Especially not in 115x territory, and if there is any that I haven't seen I'm willing to bet they're like $700.

That's why I want it. Always liked going Deluxe since it has all those connections I end up using.
It has like ten fucking SATA and dual U.2 with a M.2 slot. Also has an included thunderbolt 3 card, USB 3.1, Type C, dual gigabit, it has everything I'd need. Since I have a mobo for like 3-4 years, spending an extra 100-200 bucks makes a big difference down the line, IMO.

I have 10 USB ports on my current mobo, plus 4 front panel ports. I use 9 of those rear and am often using at least one of those front panel ones and often use two. This is like the bare minimum I can get away with. And yes, I am using hubs on those. The SATA is also wonderful to have. I don't stop using drives if they arent dead. I still have a 400GB from 2008 in my PC. I just added a spare Intel 520 180GB I had too. SATA is very easy to use. I also am very good at using PCI-E, at minimum I have my GPU, network card and FC card. That's 1 16x and 2 8x. Minimum. Plus I want to invest in PCI-E based flash, so that's even more PCI-E (Probably just M.2 tho).
Like... These things shouldn't be hard. I can understand not having things like a fuckton of sata or even PCIE, but why is it that mobo manufacturers are set on having shitty rear IO? I dont care about VGA or HDMI or DP ports. I have a proper GPU for that, give me USB.

Like, case in point here. Asus Z170-P

It's not exactly a high end board but it's still $200AUD. That's not nothing.
You have 2 PS/2 ports. Why? Use a combo port, put 2 USB ports underneath it. You have a total of 4 USB ports, only 2 of which are USB 3. You have a fuckton of wasted space around the HDMI and USB-C ports. And then you have that VGA and DVI. Why? Just why? There is so much wasted space there, that could just be USB... It's all just so much wasted space and wasted ports. The only ones you'll be using there are USB, Audio and network and at bare minimum probably HDMI. You don't need to waste all that space on VGA, DVI and PS/2. It's all so wasteful and ridiculous.
