Probably because it's a sudden load. Try tacking a 16 volt capacitor between the vcc and ground pins on the LED bar and see that that does. Maybe a couple thousand uf, see what that does.
Okay so I know Sipwicket doesn't really like vulnerabilities with a marketing department but
Secure Boot just got permanently broken and the advisory is the best thing ever
please tell me you used a can of regular old spray paint for that
It's rust-oleum so kind of
I'm really hoping that the cable in my new apartment is installed properly and I can actually get the 75/35 that I'm paying for from Comcast.
If not they're going to be hearing from me every day until they fix the drop.
It's rust-oleum so kind of
that's gonna look so shitty in a year
rustoleum is not even close to an automotive paint
I don't know if I should get an old motherboard that fits my 2500k or just say fuck it, maybe it's time to upgrade?
There's some Intel DZ77GA-70Ks on amazon for $95, pretty neat boards. Dual NICs even, but only HDMI out for the IGP. (???)
Just replaced my roommate's dead ASRock board with one, his Antec Neo 520 shit the bed taking the board and GTX1070. Luckily the card is under warranty and they don't need to know anything else happened ;)

That is actually quite hilarious how they found it, MS basically screwed up.

like i guarantee you if you ever want to fix that mistake you'll have to have to strip the entire hood and start over
and then since color matching is hard you'll need to redo the entire bloody car
One of my friends RhinoLined his entire truck
Used a similar thing to repaint the bonnet on our beater, just because there was some left in the can and dad was bored.
Can look great actually.

Why do you guys care so much for color matching? Car gets a bit dirty, now it's all the same. Car sits in the sun, the panels get lighter anyways. You guys need to see the eastern european ways of car fixing.

Fancy styling or not, I can't actually read that for shit.
What's the tldr and if I throw out Microsoft's key from my UEFI do I still care

Older versions of Secure Boot bootloader can run unsigned code (bootkits)
Microsoft's "patch" was to update the bootloader so it does some checks to make sure this doesn't happen
The problem: The check is after a bootloader is selected, a malicious individual can simply load up an older version of the bootloader and still install a bootkit and obviously Microsoft can't blacklist all versions of the vulnerable bootloader without breaking tons of shit

You're saying that like he cares. Heck, he's missing wheel covers. His car, like mine is a "first car shitbox". You really don't care what happens to it beyond it staying functional. At least his hood had paint. Mine is like 50% gone now from 18 years of midwest heat, engine heat, cold and road salt.
Has anyone else here ever built a ghetto Xeon system?
I'm talking about modding an LGA 771 CPU and making it work on an LGA 775 Motherboard.
I built one for shits n gigs and the motherboard that I'm using supports DDR3 (Max 8GB 1333MHz).
I wonder if I should do some liquid cooling to this thing, just to see how it overclocks.
Also it doesn't support Windows 10, so I'm stuck with 7 for the time being.
Heard about it but never seen anything really on Trademe(in terms of the modding strip itself to convert it from 771 to 775).
What's the CPU and motherboard you're using?
The CPU is an Intel Xeon X5450 (Couldn't find an E5450)
The Motherboard is an Asus P5G41C-M LX. Not the best, but has everything I need for this build.
Both components were really local too, like literally in the same city.
As for the stickers... It's weird how they've all disappeared from Trademe all of a sudden.

You should be able to get 3.6 ghz easily, my e5430 is going on 3.2 from 2.66 without voltage increase. Make sure to get decent cooling though

Color matching silver is only beaten by red in how much of a PITA it is.
