I live in Rochester, NY. I'm still in that stage where I barely take my eyes off the road (other than when changing lanes or at an intersection, whatever) and hold onto the wheel for dear life while driving. :v:
My roommate says people here are pretty predictable, but it doesn't stop me from getting nervous when there's some big truck riding my ass on the freeway...
How did I never know we used to live so close together? I'm from Syracuse New York area.

I only moved here recently, actually, November of last year v:v:v

Ah. I've been down here for coming up on two years now that I think about it. Can't believe it's been that long...

To give y'all an example of how "middle-of-nowhere" I live, this is a picture of my old truck on one of the bridges you have to cross to reach my house.

I'm in California. No one uses blinkers, no one can park, everyone, and I mean everyone, goes at least 15 over the speed limit.

They even speed in parking lots

Also accurate for Arkansas drivers. If you're not going 70-80 on my way home from work everyone WILL pass you at the earliest opportunity.

Maybe they are actually worth $1 in total and the comma is a mistype/bug in Amazon's coding.
:mystery:
11 4TB drives would be great for Blu-ray rips in my opinion, even if I don't need nearly that much. (Though my data hoarding tendencies may disagree)
I hate deleting things and I'm about to drop under 1 TB of free space. At the same time I don't really want to spend the ~$320 + shipping on a 8TB drive because they have the best price / TB (6TB is 25% more expensive for some reason) and I don't need 7200rpm for media storage. Even getting another 4TB drive would be 10% more expensive per TB than going 8TB and I know I will eventually fill that up.

So wait... I'm not the only one that doesn't want to drop under 1TB?
I've already dropped to only 989GB on my 2TB, I'll be right back; gotta delete a lot of shit real fast...
Meanwhile all three of my hard drives are showing red, including the 1TB one :v:
I live in south florida, one of the shittiest places to drive. As long as you just make sure you're not messing with your phone or fiddling with your radio you'll be fine.
In Denver you can't afford to take your eyes off the road for a second. The driving laws out here are a suggestion.

ever spent loads of time on the 5/101 to go up or down?
the slow lane is around ~70 in the 65 zone, fast lane is about 80, shit's ridiculous

Could be worse. Could be Springs. You want terrible drivers mixed with bad roads (depends on the season), just head south a bit.
To the guys talking about ISP service out in the middle of nowhere America. After we built our house in central Florida, which is pretty remote, we had to ask CenturyLink to install a node in our area and run the line to our house.
Basically they have us pay a part of the cost to expand their network in order to provide more coverage. It's not cheap up front, but fuck, it's better than satellite. Now we just have 5 people, 2 of which are heavy computer users, and about 3 devices for each person. All on 10/1 speed.

Sounds like Texas, except people move 90 in a 75. I have to fight not breaking 85 in the fastlane...

This all sounds like a blessing, not a curse... In Florida everyone does 60 in 70, and at least 5 under anything else. I miss living in Texas...

Right now I'm in California, Bay Area to be exact. This place is filled with old-granny drivers. It's borderline impossible to hit the speed limit on freeways.

My hotel is right off of 101. :v:
And yes the slow lane is at least 10 over

I thought you were in Washington.
I'm down in Gilroy California for work.
I don't think speed limits actually exist here. You get passed if you're not doing at least 20 over on my road.
[editline]25th August 2016[/editline]
Which is honestly fine by me, it makes no sense that this long smooth road in the middle of nowhere is 55.
55? Gross. The speed limit is 60 in city limits and 75 outside city limits in Washington
Yeah I don't get it. We're in the middle of unincorporated land with nothing but farm around. Nearest gas station even is 16 miles away.
Could be worse. Could be Springs. You want terrible drivers mixed with bad roads (depends on the season), just head south a bit.
Yeah, CO Springs is definitely a shithole. They've patched a lot of the bad potholes fairly recently though. The fiance's parents live down there so we spend a fair bit of time down there.
My old city's roads killed the front struts in my new car in under 2 years. They're awful.
I have one day off on Saturday, anyone know if the winchester mystery house in San jose is worth seeing?
Used the LM386 to make a small audio amp. Worked great with a 3.5mm audio jack off my phone, but it wouldn't amplify an RCA audio input - sounded exactly the same when hooked up directly to a speaker (if not a tad quieter). After hours of trouble shooting I think I discovered the problem - the resistance of the RCA cable the thing came with is 2.2k Ohms :v: The signal is probably too weak to be picked up by the LM386.
Now I gotta rebuild the circuit and test my theory :v:

I love Springs itself but... yeah. The roads. Not a good thing.
The roads in and around Atlanta were terrible.
Then again Atlanta is terrible in general.
