I'm not as concerned about being banned as I am about being an asshole. While there's clearly enough people here interested in Magic for me to post it, enough are clueless about it for me to not want to post 9000 vertical pixels' worth of images half of them don't care about.
I almost feel like it would be easier flavorwise to make them planeswalkers instead. Ultimate abilities can be snarky as all hell.

So for all the music videos I've been working on, the filmer.../editor (before me that put them together) has had the source footage obviously for months. Finally management got in contact with him to give us the source footage. He said in total it was 11TB of media (I think it includes lots of other stuff too.)
He wanted to have us buy him a "12TB" Gtech external drive which is basically just two 6TB drives striped. But management said they'd send him two 6TB drives. It was cheaper for them, I assume they were cheap backup plus drives (which these days are fine), but for me it's better because less points of failure. If he spent like a week moving all that data over to this expensive box, shipped it and during shipping something messed up and the stripe messed up all that data is gone.
He said he'd get it to us within 2 weeks (I got a video due friday, so I can't use source footage for it :(). From there I want to as soon as possible duplicate it and back it up. I got my ACD that I'll upload directly to for like a month straight probably. We got 100Mb fiber at work so shouldn't be too bad. Besides ACD though, I think I can find some other places to spread it around and store it. I now always run full surface writes on drives multiple times to make sure if it's going to die, it's dies now and not later. but this guy won't waste the time doing that unfortunately. So i hope the drives are healthy on day one when he receives them.
Wish I had my server setup though. I could bring in a harddrive every day to work to take off files and bring it home to put it on my server to store it. However... my primary objective is my new PC build at the start of the month.
I love my card effect.

Been going through all my stock of HD's with my new USB3 dock and running fullsurface random-writes onto them to make sure any dead or weak sectors are found and reallocated and finding which ones are good or bad.
I decided to plug in an old ST3000DM001 which was from an RMA.

ST3000DM001 was the first 1TB platter model. So three 1TB platters. Performance was great.
I now use HD Sentinal, quite like it. Even bought a copy to use for all my testing.
Running a full surface write of random data to the disk to see what happens. Already hit a rough sector which took more time to write to. It has 30k reallocated sectors, wonder how many others I can hit.

I'll check in the morning. It has an initialization test where it says it writes three times with three patterns to each sector and reads it to I guess give the firmware plenty of incentive to reallocate anything that's of issue.
I did have a 700day 160GB drive from 2006 with perfect smart get 19 reallocated sectors when I ran it through Killdisk. I wanted the entire drive wiped from sector 1 to the end. And HD sentinal seems to avoid the MBR/GPT section. Since I can run a full disk write surface test and the partitions are still there. They're empty... but there. While killdisk wipes everything clean which I like.
